Coton De Tulear Club of the United Kingdom

Breed: Coton De Tulear

I was extremely honoured to be invited to judge the first Championship Show for this Society. I think I was a founder member of the Club some 25 years ago. I first judged your breed at a Toydog Show in Switzerland in 1999 and my second appointment for the breed was in Luxembourg in 2001- the year your club was recognised. I thank all today’s exhibitors for sharing your lovely dogs with me. It was a real pleasure to judge them. My sincere thanks go to the Officer and Committee of the Club for the lovely gifts. Many thanks also to Dan Bown, Paul McGhee and Kevin Holley for stewarding so competently.

 Junior Dog

1 Cheshire’s Xanthos Von Cotonfeeling. A smart, attractive youngster who had the edge in maturity of body over the 2nd. Good head proportions, extremely well pigmented with dark, round eyes. Good bone and feet. Well ribbed body with very typical topline. Pleasing, positive hind action. Shown in grand coat and condition. Reserve CC.

2 Cartwright’s Mopseyscoton Ickle Pickle at Applejem. Just 13 months of age but beautifully balanced. Masculine, pleasing head and expressive eyes. Very good forehand with straight legs, good feet and well laid shoulders. Good depth of brisket. Really good profile action. Shown in good coat.

 Open Dog

1 Clarke’s Int Ch Bel Ch Nl ChLux Vet Ch Cotonkiss Heaven Help Us NLW’23 VW. CC, BOB and Best Veteran. Masculine and presents a really typical outline at all times. Hard to believe that he is a Veteran with his lovely, clear, dark eyes. Great dentition and a gleaming, white coat. Lovely head and expression, good forehand with well laid shoulders and some forechest. Good topline with some strength over the loins. Strong, well-muscled quarters gave him some freedom on the move. Excellent coat texture. He really does deserve to gain his title.

2 Milton’s Majesticoton Beethoven. He does have an air of quality as he is so typical and well balanced. Excellent pigmentation, well proportioned, masculine head with lovely round, dark eyes.Decent forehand with good forechest. Well angulated and nicely muscled hindquarters. Free moving and in good coat. I could have happily signed a CC for him.

1 Howsam’s Jandoes Wotta About Dottie. Best Puppy in breed. Mature in attitude, body and ribbing with some strength over the loin. Very satisfying to handle as she is well put together with some forechest and depth of brisket. Moderate hindquarters with some muscle tone. Sound and free moving.
