Poodle (Toy)
My first time awarding CCs in this size and I have to say how disappointed I was that a measure was unavailable at the show.
PD (4,1)
1. Tollin’s Launix Rising from The Ashes. 11 mth old silver who very much appealed. Very well balanced with neck of good length, nice and short in back with rib developing as it should for age, ribbing carried well back and short coupled. Attractive head with eyes of good colour, leathers set on low, well defined chin and correct dentition. I liked his angles both ends and he stands true in front. Greatly impressed on the go around with excellent carriage and so very well handled. Tail carriage could be better but overall a lovely pup. Best Puppy Dog.
2. Dyer & Grindey’s Malricey Mr Meana. 10 mth old black who is quite different to the winner. He is nice and short in the back and appears higher on the leg but needs more time. Neck of good length, firm backline, brisket still to fully develop, short loin and good tail for set and carriage. Pleasing head which is well proportioned, expressive eyes, leathers set on low and scissor bite. Moves freely fore and aft and although went well on the go around, the winner had the edge here for me.
3. Smith’s Shantallah Duncan Biscuit
LD (1,0)
1. Huyton’s Afterglow Hi Octane with Chebri JW Ir Jch. 22 mth old black who was good hands on and presented a well balanced outline. Good length of neck with proud head carriage, nice short back, chest reaches the elbows, breadth to loins and tail set on well. Masculine head with very good eye, leathers set on just right, foreface well chiselled, well defined chin and scissor bite. Shoulders well laid, nice straight forelegs and firm hindquarters with good turn of stifle. When gaiting, he pleased all through and uses himself as he goes. Well presented and handled. RCC.

1. White’s Ch Starianna Wreckit Ralph. 6 yr old white who I thought quite lovely; all male, yet with the elegance of the breed. He presented a beautifully balanced outline and certainly didn’t disappoint hands on. Neck of good length leading into well laid shoulders, good depth to brisket, nice and short in the back, excellent ribbing, broad loins and tail of correct set. Attractive headpiece with dark expressive eyes, leathers set on low, chiselling to foreface, good chin and correct dentition. He has good angles both ends and stands well naturally in front. On the move, he was accurate coming and going and moved out with style when viewed in profile. Shown in excellent condition, presented in such good coat of correct texture and so capably handled to take a thoroughly well deserved CC.
2. Land’s Ch Sotto Voce Yes I Am at Stepanelle (Imp Esp). Black of 3 yrs who also has much to like and was good to go over. Pleasing outline with good length of neck, looking taller than long as desired, firm backline, nice and short in the couplings, correct croup and tail set on well. Masculine head with good proportions, leathers set on low, chiselling to foreface and good dentition but overall preferred expression of winner. He has good angulation front and rear and stands nice and straight in front with pleasing forechest. Moving soundly all through and goes very well in profile. Well presented and shown to advantage.
3. Leckey’s Ir Ch Aftershine Son of Drako Jch
SBD (3,1)
1. Tollin’s Launix Rising from The Ashes
2. Smith’s Shantallah Duncan Biscuit. 7 mth old black who has the most wonderful temperament. Pleasing neck, short back with ribcage of good length, firm croup and tail set on well. Head of good proportions with expressive eyes, leathers set on low and well defined chin. Standing a tad wider in front. On the move he was true when going away but would have liked to see him open up a tad more on the go around.
PB (6,1)
1. Edmondson’s Shantallah Finesse. 7 mth old black who was a standout in this class for me and what an exciting prospect this puppy is. A delight hands on and presenting a super balanced outline with the best of necks, lovely short back, ribbing carried well back, nice and short in the loin, correct croup and tail set on well. Feminine headpiece of good length, expressive almond-shaped eyes which are ‘full of fire’, leathers set on low, clean through the cheeks, well defined chin and scissor bite. Soundly constructed all through and standing true in front with a lovely forechest for age. Moves freely on the down and back and superb on the go around with first class carriage. RCC and Best Puppy.
2. White’s Launix’s Surprise in Silver Starianna. 11 mth old silver who turned out to be the litter sister to the winner of Puppy Dog. This youngster was a comfortable second here and she shows plenty of promise. She is certainly a livewire and made her handler work hard. Feminine all through, she pleased in outline with neck of good length, short back with firm topline, ribbing developing well, short-coupled and ok in croup. Balanced head with nice dark eyes, chiselling developing nicely, leathers set on as they should be and good dentition, however preferred overall expression of winner. She stands well naturally and is nice and free when coming and going and although she pleased on the go around, 1 was quite outstanding.
3. Gianntti & Krishan’s Aftershine Ella Ganzza
JB (1,0)
1. Nour & Isherwood’s Afterglow Go with The Flo. Feminine 14 mth old black who has lots to like and was very well handled here. Neck of good length with proud head carriage, short back with pleasing ribbing, short in the couplings, firm croup and tail set on well. Attractive head of good length, expressive eyes, leathers set on low, pleasing chiselling and scissor bite. On the move, she opened up nicely on the go around and carries herself well but is just a touch closer when going away. Good texture to coat and well presented.

1. Lees’ Almoona Hell's Angel. 5 yr old black who could have been better presented but owner has been somewhat out of action due to a recent accident. She is compact although I would like to see a little more neck to enhance outline, ribcage of good length, short loin, correct croup and tail set on well albeit rather shorter. Feminine headpiece with eyes a touch rounder than preferred and could have more fill below, leathers set on just right and correct scissor bite. When gaiting, she opened up pretty well when viewed in profile, is true when going away but has a little more width coming at you. Super temperament.
LB (2,0)
1. Givan’s Afterglow Seems Like Heaven with Sudeo. 3 yr old black comfortably winning this class for me. Of sound construction and pleasing to get hands on. She has a very good neck, firm short back, brisket reaches the elbows, breadth to her short loin, correct croup and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Attractive head with feminine expression; almond-shaped eyes, leathers of correct set, well chiselled foreface, good underjaw and scissor bite. Good angles front and rear, elbows close to the body and nice straight forelegs. Gaiting freely on the down and back and also pleased on the go around.
2. Gianntti & Krishan’s Aftershine Just Look Don’t Touch. 3 yr old white who couldn’t be more different to the winner. Pleasing neck, nice and short in the back, ribbing carried well back, short loin and firm croup. Feminine head with super eye for colour but a touch rounder than I would like, excellent pigmentation and good dentition but could use fraction more length to muzzle. She could stand tidier in front. Nice firm rear action but could open up more on the go around.
OB (4,1)
1. Isherwood & Lynn’s Ch Dream High Kai Kennel Afterglow Adrenaline (imp). 22 mth old black right out of the top drawer and one who gave me goosebumps such was her quality. Totally balanced with the very best of necks with stylish head carriage, short firm back, well sprung ribs, brisket reaching the elbows, short in the couplings where there is breadth and firm in croup. Outstanding head and expression which is full of femininity; almond-shaped eyes which are undoubtedly ‘full of fire’, leathers are set on low, well chiselled foreface, clean through the cheeks, first class chin and scissor bite. Shoulders are well laid, elbows close to the chest, standing true in front with a super forechest. When gaiting, she is quite breath-taking on the go around and she also pleased when coming and going. Not only is she a truly beautiful bitch, she was shown here in firm, muscular condition, with the best of coats and presentation and to top it all, handled to perfection. A pleasure to award her the CC & BOB and an even greater pleasure to watch her take the Group under Marion Sargent and then BIS on the final day under Anne Macdonald.
2. Land’s Sotto Voce Barbie (Imp Esp). 2 yr old black who is totally different to the winner but she also pleased when going over. Neck of good length, short back with well sprung ribs, broad loins and firm croup. Feminine headpiece with overall pleasing expression but she hasn’t quite got the eye of winner, leathers are set on as they should be, chiselling to foreface, well defined chin and scissor bite. She has good angulation both front and rear and moved out freely with good self carriage. Good texture to coat and well presented.
3. McClements’ Ir Ch Afterglow Lovey Dovey Ir Jch
SBB (3,0)
1. Nour & Isherwood’s Afterglow Go with The Flo. Best Special Beginners.
2. Nour’s Aftershine Penny Drops at Einara. 8 mth old white with a sweet temperament and very good pigmentation. She is nice and short in back, ribbing obviously still to develop but there is good length to the ribcage, short loin and correct croup. Feminine head with eyes of good colour, leathers of correct set and scissor bite but I would like to see more chin. Moving true when going away, ok when viewed in profile but needs to tighten in front.
3. Lees’ Almoona Hell's Angel
GCB (3,0)
1. Grant & Murphy’s Silvora Amorecano. 3 yr old black who is nice and solid when hands on and what a happy showgirl she is! She has a good length of neck, short firm back, well sprung ribbing, nice short loin with breadth, excellent croup and tail set on well. Head of good length with feminine expression; almond-shaped eyes, correct set on of leathers, pleasing chiselling to foreface, well defined chin and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends and stands straight in front, albeit a touch wider.
2. Winnington’s Keelmara Queens English at Fingolfin. Brown of 3 yrs who has lots to like and she was well handled here. She appears taller than long as desired, has a good length of neck, firm topline and pleasing rib. Feminine headpiece with leathers set on low, eyes of good colour but a tad rounder, well defined chin and correct dentition. She stands true in front, elbows are close to the chest and she is well muscled all through. On the move she went pretty well when viewed in profile, is accurate coming towards and although straight behind, she is just a fraction closer.
3. Lees’ Almoona Hell's Angel
