Lowchen (Little Lion Dog)

PD (3,1)

1. Richardson’s Arfenco’s Warrior King Ivar for Hollinsclose. 7 mth old who made a good account of himself here. He presented a nicely balanced outline with good length of neck, firm backline, ribbing developing as it should for age and extends well back, nice short loin, correct croup and tail pleased for set and carriage. Good breadth to skull, defined stop, excellent eye and ear, muzzle of correct length and scissor bite. He has good angles front and rear and moved freely all through. Well presented and very well handled. RCC.

2. Morgan-Stanley’s Golbourne Marcello. Just 6 mths and a little overawed on the day. He is very different to the winner and presented quite a different outline. Pleasing neck which is nicely arched, short back with firm topline, ribcage of good length, short coupled and tail set on well but more curled than preferred. Quality head with breadth to skull, well defined stop, super expressive eyes with well pigmented rims, ears of correct set, strength to muzzle and correct dentition. He stands well naturally in front and although could be more settled on the move, he went well from what I could see.

1. Sproul & Coburn’s Sharlarna Ralph Lauren for Khandro. 4 yr old who wasn’t entirely relaxed on the day and therefore did not give his all. Neck of good length, firm through the topline, would like to see a better spring of rib but ribcage is of good length, nice short loin, correct croup and tail pleased for set and carriage. Good skull to muzzle proportions with sufficient stop, nice dark eyes, ears of correct set, well pigmented and scissor bite. Standing straight in front but would like more width to chest. Moving freely when viewed from behind and goes ok in front and when viewed in profile.

1. Graham’s Ch Jameneli Back to Black. 2 yr old who I thought was quite outstanding and he was a pleasure to go over given his correct construction and excellent muscle-tone and general conditioning. Presented in first class order, he is so well balanced with arched neck of good length, firm through the backline, brisket reaches the elbows, well sprung ribbing with good length to ribcage, short in the couplings and tail of correct carriage. Quality head with breadth to skull, eyes of good size and placement, ears set on just right, well defined stop, correct length to his strong muzzle and scissor bite. He has good angles front and rear, elbows are held close to the body, stands true in front with super forechest and is nice and firm in the rear. Certainly didn’t disappoint when gaiting and he carries himself with style. Very well handled. CC & BOB. Pleased to see him later take Group 2.

2. Richardson’s Hollinsclose As It Was. This exuberant 2 yr old pleased for overall type and presented a well balanced outline. Neck of good length, firm level back, ribcage of good length, short muscular loin and tail of correct carriage. Pleasing head and expression with broad skull, correct stop, dark eyes good for size and placement, ears set on level with the eyes, correct length to muzzle, nice dark pigmentation and good dentition. He has good angles both ends and stands well naturally but couldn’t quite match the winner in forechest. Moving freely when viewed from any angle but not overall action or carriage of 1. Well presented.

1. Morgan-Stanley’s Ch/multi/nord Ch Golbourne’s Diamond Noir avec Debrita JW ShCM VW. 12 yr old who was a comfortable winner in this class for me. He pleased in outline with nicely arched neck of correct length to give balance, firm level topline, good depth to chest, ribbing extends well back, short strong loin and tail good for set and carriage. Correctly proportioned head with breadth to skull, defined stop, eyes of good size, ears set on just right, strength to muzzle which is of correct length and scissor bite. He stands true in front and has a very good forechest. Time is catching up with him and he was a touch slower gaiting but he opened up well on the go around and has good carriage. Best Veteran.

2. McFarlane’s Kerryken Keir Rob ShCEx. 8 yr old who has a pleasing length of neck, firm level back, good length to ribcage but could have more spring, short in the couplings and tail was good for set and carriage. Good skull to muzzle proportions but not quite breadth of skull of winner, defined stop, nice dark eyes of good placement, ears set on level with the eyes and correct dentition. Moving ok all through but couldn’t quite match overall action of winner.

1. Dixon’s Golbourne Dazzling Diamond. 11 mth old pup who is brimming over with quality and was so good hands on. Proudly arched neck of good length, firm straight topline, brisket reaches the elbows, super rib for age, short strong loin, correct croup and tail just right for set and carriage. Quality head with good skull to muzzle proportions, well defined stop, expressive round eyes of good colour and placement in the skull, strong muzzle of correct length to balance and scissor bite. She is well angulated front and rear and stands nice and straight in front on good feet. Super profile action and confident carriage. Very well presented. RCC and Best Puppy.

2. Morgan-Stanley’s Golbourne’s Set in Diamonds. 6 mths old and very much a baby, however she shows plenty of promise. Neck of good length, short back, ribcage is carried well back, nice and short in the couplings, correct croup and tail set on just right and of good carriage. Feminine headpiece with breadth to skull, expressive eyes, ears set on just right, muzzle of correct length to balance, nice dark pigmentation and scissor bite. I liked her angulation front and rear and she stands well naturally. Super profile action and nice and firm in the rear, just needs to settle in front.

1. Sproul & Coburn’s Stoneside Enchantress for Khandro. 13 mth old who is somewhat at the teenager stage right now and was rather unsettled on the table. Pleasing outline with good length of neck, ribbing extends well back, firm level back, correct croup and tail good for set and carriage but would just like a touch more breadth all through. Good skull to muzzle ratios, sufficient stop, eyes of good colour although they could be a touch larger, ears are set on as they should be, lovely dark pigmentation and correct dentition. On the move, she is parallel on the down and back and goes ok when viewed in profile.

1. Morgan-Stanley’s Golbourne Cherish The Luv. A somewhat varied class which saw this 2 yr old come out on top. She was good hands on and shown in in super condition. Nicely arched neck, firm level topline, brisket reaches the elbows, well sprung ribbing which is carried well back, short strong loin, correct croup and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Feminine head with breadth to skull, defined stop, eyes good for size, colour and placement, ears of correct set, strong muzzle which could have a touch more length and scissor bite. She stands well in front and pleased for forechest and when gaiting, she was accurate when coming and going.

2. Patterson’s Hollinsclose The Promise for Bratilda. 17 mth old with lots to like and was very well handled here. She has a good length of neck, firm level topline, ribbing is well sprung, nice short loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Head of good proportions with breadth to skull, well defined stop, expressive eyes of good colour and correct dentition but not quite pigmentation of winner. Presented in firm muscle-tone, she has well laid shoulders, stands nice and straight in front and has a good bend of stifle. Moving freely all through with good carriage.

3. Aitchison’s Cleeview's Kwizical

OB (1,0)

1. Richardson’s Hollinsclose Love Machine. 17 mth old who very much appealed and was good to go over. She presented a lovely outline with neck of correct length to give balance, firm backline, ribcage of good length and ribs well sprung, short in the couplings, correct croup and tail set on as desired with good carriage. Feminine headpiece with excellent skull, well defined stop, dark round eyes of good size and placement in the skull, strength to muzzle with good width, very good pigmentation and scissor bite. Soundly built both front and rear and she stands nice and straight in front and is well developed in forechest. On the move, she was parallel on the down and back and was so good on the go around too. CC.
