Japanese Spitz

GCD (4,0)

1. Cobb’s Camylaw Midnight. 2 yr old who presented a well balanced outline and was good hands on. Medium length of neck with is nicely arched, firm backline, ribbing well sprung and carried well back, breadth to loins, flat croup and well plumed tail set on high. Attractive headpiece and for me he had the best expression in the class; moderate breadth to skull, obliquely set eyes of good colour, ears set on high, tight lips which are well pigmented and scissor bite. Pleasing angles both ends and he stands on excellent feet. Moving briskly and nice and free on the down and back. Good coat.

2. Stevenson-Reynolds’ Keagwyn Teddy Boy. 8 yr old who has plenty to like and uses himself at all times. Nicely balanced in outline with arched neck of correct length, level topline, well sprung ribs, good depth to brisket, firm loin, correct croup and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Masculine head with slightly rounded skull, ears set on high, eyes of good colour but a touch prominent, excellent mouth with good sized teeth and super pigmentation. Soundly constructed front and rear and stands true in front on pretty good feet. Goes so well when gaiting when viewed from any angle.

3. Warren’s Kessaku Scooby Doo

PD (6,1)

1. Bliss’ Belzbentley Aussie Pride with Charney (Imp Aus). A rather varied class which saw this 12 mth old win quite comfortably. Not in full coat on the day but I thought him most promising being of correct type, presenting such a good outline and he was a delight to go over. Excellent neck, firm through the topline, ribbing extends well back, broad loin, level croup and tail correct for both set and carriage. Beautiful headpiece with slightly rounded skull of moderate breadth, the best of eyes and ears, defined stop, super pigmentation and scissor bite. Soundly constructed throughout, standing on excellent feet and certainly didn’t disappoint on the move. An easy Best Puppy winner today.

2. Church’s Sanyinko Natsu Taiyo. 9 mth old who pleased for overall type and outline. Arched neck of correct length to give balance, straight backline, ribbing developing as it should for age and good length to ribcage, firm loin, level croup and plumed tail set on high and of good carriage. Masculine head with slightly rounded skull, very good eyes for colour, shape and placement, defined stop, correct dentition and well pigmented all through. Pleasing angles both ends and he stands on good feet. On the move, he is true going away but front action needs to tighten.

3. Serbu-Nixon & Furse’s Loveliwithy May Day

JD (3,1)

1. Turner’s Mayumi's Tsuyoshi. Two very different dogs challenged in this class with this 13 mth old coming out on top. I liked him for size and he presented a nicely balanced outline with arched neck of moderate length, firm level topline, ribbing is well sprung, there is breadth to the loin, croup is correct and tail pleased for set and carriage. Attractive head with masculine expression; dark oval-shaped eyes which are obliquely placed, ears set on high, correct stop, scissor bite and nice dark pigmentation. He stands true naturally on excellent feet and on the move pleased overall although in the class he was a touch exaggerated in front but this had settled when it came to the challenge.

2. Griffin & Barclay’s Soranohoshi Chiisai Kaiju. 17 mth old out of a larger mould but he too presented a good outline with medium length of neck which is arched as desired, firm backline, good depth to brisket, ribbing well sprung, short in the couplings and plumed tail set on nice and high. Pleasing head and expression with slightly rounded skull of moderate breadth, well defined stop, good eyes but preferred those of winner, ears set on high, tight well pigmented lips and good dentition. Moderate layback of shoulder and standing nice and straight in front on cat-like feet. Moving briskly on the go around, sound coming towards but winner had the edge going away. Profuse coat.

PGD (4,0)

1. Cobb’s Camylaw Midnight

2. Roper’s Kessaku Bugatti for Tokosha. 22 mth old not in full coat on the day and one I feel will be a slow maturer. Perhaps a shade longer cast but lack of coat could have contributed to this impression, however he has a nicely arched neck of moderate length, firm topline and his tail is set on high and of good carriage. Balanced headpiece with very good ears, expressive eyes, tight lips which are well pigmented and correct scissor bite. He stands true in front on compact feet but would like to see more width to chest. When settled he moved freely both coming and going and went pretty well on the go around.

3. Warrington’s Sakkaku Cloud Dream Weaver

LD (2,1)

1. Aston & Bowen’s Charney Talk of The Town at Glamglow. 2 yr old standing alone here but a worthy Limit class winner. All male, he was very good hands on and I thought him a good type. He presented a very nice outline with arched neck of correct length to balance, firm straight back, excellent ribbing, broad loin, flat croup and plumed tail set on high. Masculine head with good skull, eyes of good colour with well pigmented rims, super ears, defined stop, tight lips and scissor bite. I liked his angles both front and rear and he stands true in front on excellent feet. When gaiting, he uses himself as he goes, is true coming and going and has the desired brisk action of the breed. Good quality coat although not quite in full bloom.

OD (11,1)

1. Bliss’ Ch Charney Chandresh. This 7 yr old lad is absolutely full of quality and a standout in this class on the day. I thought him an excellent type, just right for size and he certainly didn’t disappoint when hands on. Totally balanced with arched neck of moderate length, firm level back, first class ribbing, brisket reaches the elbows, broad loin, correct croup and plumed tail set on nice and high and of good carriage. Super headpiece with masculine expression and free from any suggestion of coarseness; slightly rounded skull of moderate breadth, defined stop, excellent eye and ear, tight well-pigmented lips and scissor bite. Soundly built all through, stands foot perfect on cat-like feet and gives his all to his handler. On the move, he was light and brisk as desired and accurate when coming and going. Profuse, stand-off coat and so very well presented. CC and also Best Veteran.

2. Aston & Bowen’s Ch/Aus Ch Daesdaemar Romancing The Stone Glamglow (Imp Aus). 4 yr old who is quite different to the winner but another who appealed. Showy boy who made the most of his time in the ring and was put down in super coat and condition. He presented a balanced outline with medium length of neck which is nicely arched, short level back, ribbing extends well back, firm loin, level croup and high set plumed tail of good carriage. Attractive head with masculine expression; dark eyes but not quite shape of those of winner, super ears, defined stop, tight lips, scissor bite and first class pigmentation. He is correctly angulated front and rear, stands nice and straight in front on very good feet but 1 scored in forechest. When gaiting, he moved out in typical brisk fashion and was true on the down and back.

3. Turner’s Mayumi's Rough Diamond

VD (5,0)

1. Serginson’s Ch Glamglows Bowl Me over at Midaras. 8 yr old who is brimming over with quality and the ultimate showman. He is so good in outline with correct length of neck to balance, firm through the backline, good depth to chest, ribbing well sprung, broad loin, correct croup and plumed tail set on high and of good carriage. Super head and expression with moderate breadth to his slightly rounded skull, obliquely placed dark oval-shaped eyes, ears set on high, well pigmented tight lips and scissor bite. Moderate angles front and rear, standing true in front on excellent feet and also pleased for forechest. Gaiting briskly with excellent carriage and true when coming and going. Quality coat and presented in first class condition. RCC.

2. Bliss’ Ch Charney Tamotsu. 8 yr old who also has much to like and was good to go over given his correct construction. Masculine throughout, he pleased for size and outline with correct length of neck to give balance, straight topline, good depth to chest, excellent ribbing, firm loin, flat croup and high set plumed tail of good carriage. Pleasing head with good eye and ear, defined stop and scissor bite and although he has a nice expression it couldn’t quite match that of the winner for me. Correct angulation front and rear, stands well naturally at all times and moved freely all through. Profuse, off-stand coat.

3. Stevenson-Reynolds’ Keagwyn Teddy Boy

GCB (3,0)

1. Edens’ Ch Snowshoes Hex Girl at Dalens JW. 4 yr old who won this class with some room to spare. Quality all through, she presented a lovely outline with arched neck of medium length, level topline, well sprung ribs with good length to ribcage, breadth to loins, good croup and high set plumed tail of good carriage. Most attractive head with feminine expression; slightly rounded skull, defined stop, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears set on high, tight well-pigmented lips and correct dentition. Good forehand, standing true on very good feet and well-muscled throughout. Gaiting briskly with confident carriage and accurate coming towards. Very well handled.

2. Stevenson-Reynolds’ Kessaku White Bryony with Keagwyn. 5 yr old who was good to go over but not quite as well balanced as the winner. However, she has an excellent neck, is firm through the topline, ribbed well back and her tail pleased for both set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with good skull, ears are set on high, scissor bite and nice dark pigmentation but preferred eye of 1. Standing a little off in front but this didn’t affect her action coming towards and she was also good when going away. Profuse, stand-off coat.

3. Church’s Sanyinko Barton’s Starlet

PB (1,0)

1. Church’s Sanyinko Natsu Ame. 9 mth standing alone here and unfortunately a little overawed by the occasion. She pleased for overall type and is nicely balanced with correct length of neck, straight topline, brisket reaching the elbows, good length to ribcage and firm croup, however she was somewhat reluctant to use her tail. Feminine head with pleasing expression, obliquely placed eyes of good shape and colour, correct ears when using them, tight lips and excellent pigmentation. She stands true in front on very good feet. Moving ok but difficult to fully assess.

JB (3,0)

1. Jones’ Llwyni Fancy That JW. A good class of Junior girls. This 13 mth old was my winner. Not quite in full coat on the day but full of quality and given consideration in the challenge. She appealed for type and is so very well balanced. Nicely arched neck of moderate length, firm through the back line, ribbing extends well back, moderate tuck-up, broad loin, level croup and high set plumed tail of good carriage. Quality head with delightful expression; slightly rounded skull, well defined stop, excellent eye and ear, tight well-pigmented lips and correct scissor bite. I liked her angles both front and rear and she moved out briskly with excellent self carriage, was accurate on the down and back and was so very well handled.

2. Roberts’ Tawvale Gisei. 16 mth old who was also handled to advantage here. Perhaps more ‘old fashioned’ in type but that is not meant to be detrimental in anyway as she is so correct. Lovely outline with arched neck of correct length to balance, level topline, excellent ribbing, short in the couplings, flat croup and plumed tail set on high. Feminine head with good skull, eyes of good colour, high set ears, dark pigmentation all through, tight lips and good dentition, however for me, winner just had the edge in overall expression. She has correct angulation both ends and stands nice and straight in front on good feet. Brisk, clean action.

3. Fraser’s Tawvale Gatusei

PGB (10,2)

1. McPhee’s Maihimekai The Temptress. 2 yr old who was another whose coat was not quite in full bloom on the day but this did not detract greatly from the overall picture. Feminine girl who presents a nicely balanced outline with correct length of neck, firm backline, brisket reaching the elbows, pleasing rib and loin, level croup and plumed tail set on nice and high. Attractive headpiece with moderate breadth to skull, oval-shaped eyes of good colour and obliquely placed, ears set on high, well-pigmented tight lips and scissor bite. Moderately angulated front and rear, nice straight forelegs and stands on super feet. Gaiting freely on the down and back and briskly as desired. Very well handled.

2. Graham’s Kessaku Mercedes. This 22 mth old was close up to the winner here and she is another with much to like and handled to advantage. Feminine throughout and maybe a smidge longer than the winner but still presenting a good outline with arched neck of moderate length, level back, well sprung ribbing, firm loins, level croup and tail set on high and of good carriage. Attractive head with expressive eyes, ears set on well, tapering muzzle, tight lips and good dentition, but overall winner just had the edge in expression for me. Soundly constructed front and rear, elbows held close to the body, straight forelegs and very good feet. Moving cleanly coming and going and with good carriage.

3. Fraser’s Tawvale Fumika

LB (10,3)

1. Gibson’s Kaiaki Angel Eyes JW. 22 mth old who shows like a dream, is full of quality and was so good when hands on. She presented a super picture standing and was shown in full coat. Moderate length of neck which is nicely arched, short straight back, first class ribbing, brisket reaches the elbows which are close fitting, firm loins with breadth, level croup and plumed tail set on high and of correct carriage. Delightful headpiece, full of femininity, with excellent skull, well defined stop, dark oval-shaped eyes which are set obliquely as desired, small ears set on high, tapering muzzle, tight lips which are well pigmented and scissor bite. Soundly built all through and she stands well naturally in front on excellent feet. Gaiting briskly and light on her feet and accurate on the down and back. Profuse, stand-off coat and shown in first class order. My CC winner on the day and also got the nod for BOB over the dog who turned out to be her sire!

2. Bambridge’s Charney Calista. This 2 yr old also appealed and she too is of sound construction and was good to go over. Making the most of herself at times, she pleased for balance with arched neck of correct length, firm level topline, well sprung ribbing with good length to ribcage, broad loin, flat croup and plumed tail set on nice and high. Attractive head with feminine expression; nice dark eyes, excellent ears, well defined stop, tapering muzzle, well pigmented all through, tight lips and correct dentition. She was standing just right whenever I looked at her and she has very good feet. Gaiting freely when coming and going and also pleased on the go around.

3. McPhee’s Glamglow's Blushing Bride for Maihimekai

OB (11,2)

1. Colliton’s Lyndi Firecracker. A good class which saw this 2 yr old take the top spot. A beautifully balanced girl who didn’t disappoint upon closer inspection and she shows herself off to full advantage. Medium length of neck which is nicely arched, firm straight backline, super ribbing, good depth to brisket, correct underline, short in the couplings, flat croup and well plumed tail set on high and of excellent carriage. Most attractive head with feminine expression; slightly rounded skull of moderate breadth, correct stop, oval-shaped eyes of good colour and placement in the skull, small ears set on high, super pigmentation and correct dentition. Well made front and rear, straight forelegs, elbows close to the body and she stands on very good feet. Lovely mover all through and so very well handled. Profuse, stand-off coat. RCC.

2. Bambridge’s Ch Charney Fine Design at Tartiko. This 6 yr old was another who pleased and I thought her so good for overall type and she also was so correct for balance. Excellent neck, firm through the topline, good depth to chest, well sprung ribs, breadth to loins, flat croup and tail set on high and well-plumed. Quality head with most attractive expression; slightly rounded skull, correct stop, dark oval-shaped eyes with well pigmented rims, ears of correct size and set, tapering muzzle, tight lips and scissor bite. 3. Jones’ Ch Llwyni's Magic Touch JW

VB (6,1)

1. Turner’s Mayumi's Too Hot Too Handle. 8 yr old who was carrying a little extra weight but for me, she was the best hands on in the class and also appealed for overall type. Neck of correct length, level topline, brisket reaches the elbows, ribbing extends well back, firm loin, good croup and high set tail of correct carriage. Very nice head and expression with moderately broad skull, defined stop, dark oval-shaped eyes which are obliquely placed, small high set ears and tight lips which are well pigmented. She stands true in front and pleased for forechest and when gaiting, she was clean coming and going and moved in typical brisket fashion when viewed in profile. Very good coat.

2. Chapman’s Bangle Kilnhall. Another 8 yr old who has much to like and she was very well handled here. She pleased in outline with nicely arched neck of medium length, firm backline, well sprung ribs, short in the couplings and well plumed tail of good set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with slightly rounded skull, excellent ears, eyes of good colour but not quite shape of those of winner, tapering muzzle and scissor bite. Moderate angles front and rear, straight forelegs, cat-like feet and well muscled all through. Gaiting soundly with good carriage.
