It was an absolute pleasure to judge the GSPs entered at what was sadly the last Richmond Show at Loseley Park. Another “Southern” show lost to the South, but I am sure that the often challenging uneven ring surface won’t be missed! A huge thank you to all the exhibitors for the privilege of going over your lovely dogs at what is after all the equivalent of a very expensive “Open Show”. I hope that you all enjoyed your day as much as I did.

Two promising puppies, only a month apart in age but at quite different stages of development.

1st: 566 ELLIOTT, Mrs Lorraine & ELLIOTT, Mr Finlay & ELLIOTT Mr Ian Ankerwycke D'artagnan (ai), well-grown 7 mths L/W Ticked, nicely-balanced shape combining power & grace, very well-proportioned skull & muzzle with well-developed lips, eyes still to darken, strong & muscular neck leading to well-laid shoulders, forechest developing, stands on straight forelegs & compact feet, enough depth to brisket, ribs deep & well-sprung, strong & firm in couplings, ample bend of stifle, good width to thighs, inclined to crab on the move, which may just be a growth phase, but showed good ground-covering stride in profile, BPIB

2nd: 570 WARDLEY-GREEN, Mrs Laura Seasham Wavelength, 6 mths L/W Ticked baby, appealing neat outline, balanced & masculine head with good depth to muzzle, liked his dark eye colour which gave him a lovely soft expression, good length to neck , well-angulated front with length to upper arm, deep brisket for age & well-ribbed back to short couplings, short & firm in back, sufficient bend of stifle which was more moderate than 1st, hindquarters developing well with wide thighs, full of enthusiasm on the move, just preferred the longer stride length of 1st.
