Pekingese Club of Scotland

Breed: OPEN SHOW

Thank you to the committee of the Pekingese Club of Scotland for inviting me to judge their show. I enjoyed my appointment and was efficiently aided by my steward Philip. This is a breed I have had a long attachment to, and will always be one of my favourites.

PUPPY DOG (2/1)

1. Blakeway's KLERKSHOF JUMPIN FLASH (naf) 11 month old black masked red. Good size & substance, in excellent coat & condition. Lovely eye, correct shape skull, well set ears. Open nares. He appeared to be favouring one shoulder so his front movement was unsettled.

 JUNIOR DOG (1/1)

1. Lund’s YAKEE TWIST AND SHOUT TO MAGNETIZZAM Personality plus fawn with black mask. Gorgeous head & expression, with round dark eye, open nares, well set ears. Beautifully presented in excellent coat & condition. Could be shorter coupled but moved true either end with typical roll. Tail well set & carried, flat feet.

 POST GRADUATE DOG (3/2)

1. Clifton’s YAKEE KING OF THE KOP Fawn boy with black mask. Lovely size & substance. Pleasing head, although a little squarer than ideal, but with flat skull & well set ears, lovely dark round eye, open nares & good depth of muzzle. In profuse well prepared coat of good texture. Short coupled body with broad chest narrowing to hindquarters. Tail well set & carried. Moved true either end with typical rolling gait. Large flat feet. A balanced boy with a lot to like about him. BD & BIS

2. Lund’s YAKEE STARLIGHT EXPRESS TO MAGNETIZZAM Another fawn with black mask, but he was not a happy boy so did not show to his best advantage. Short coupled body, well prepared coat of correct texture.

 LIMIT DOG (1/1)

1. Maxwell & Chalmer’s YAKEE A STAR IS BORN WITH AINTSHE JW Well grown fawn boy with black mask. Lovely head round dark eye. Correct envelope head shape & balance. Open nares. Good width of muzzle. Correct front construction with large flat feet. Presented in profuse coat of good texture, and in good condition. Tail well set & carried. A lovely boy, would just prefer a little less of him. RBD

 OPEN DOG (4/2)

1. Blakeway’s KLERKSHOF ENGLISH CROWN AT BELLABLAKE JW Smart red boy with lovely head width, large round dark eye but would prefer a little more depth of muzzle. Well set ears. Short coupled body with good tail set & carriage. Large flat feet. In well presented coat. Typical rolling movement.

2. Lund’s YAKEE THE SUN GOD WITH MAGNETIZZAM Another smart dog, but longer in body than winner. Pleasing head with dark round eye & open nares, but I preferred the head balance of the winner. Well presented in good coat of correct texture. Large flat feet. Tail well set & carried. Rolling action.

 VETERAN DOG (1/1)

1. Lund’s YAKEE THE INTERCEPTOR WITH MAGNETIZZAM. 8 yr old red boy with dark mask. In well presented coat of good texture. Head in proportion to body. Topline unsettled. Correct flat feet. BV

 PUPPY BITCH (4/2)

1. Blakeway’s BELLABLAKE SHES GOT THE LOOK Sweet black masked red youngster who was not overcoated and coat was correct texture & well presented. Correct envelope head proportions with large dark round eye, good muzzle & defined chin. Good skull shape & ears well set and carried. Short coupled body & good substance. Good topline. Large flat feet, well set tail. Moved true with typical rolling gait. A lot to like about her. RBB, BP & BPIS

2. Clifton’s BELLABLAKE GET LUCKY Litter sister of winner, same colour as above. In profuse, well presented coat. Topline needs to settle, still bum high at present. I preferred the head shape & balance of winner. Moved happily.

 JUNIOR BITCH (2/1)

1. Blakeway’s BELLABLAKE THE DIXIE CHICK Silver Fawn with Black mask. Short coupled girl in excellent coat & condition. Sweet head of balanced shape. Large dark eye. Tail well set & carried. Moved typically. Large flat feet.

 POST GRADUATE BITCH (3/2)

1. O’Donnell’s YAKEE MADEMOISELLE AT CHIACHI Smart black masked red girl. Head width correct, but skull could be a little flatter between ears, which were a little low set. Lovely large dark round eye, open nares. Good muzzle width. Body could be shorter coupled. Correct large wide feet. Tail well set & carried. In excellent well presented coat of good texture. Moved with typical rolling gait.

2. Cassie’s PEKEHUIS SELENE Sweet black masked red brindle girl. Short coupled body. Flat feet. Well set & carried tail. Well presented coat of good texture. Smaller head, and nares could be more open. Moved close behind.

 LIMIT BITCH (1/1)

1. Ratter’s YAKEE SIGN SEALED DELIVERED TO SEAFAR. Very smart black masked red girl in excellent well presented coat of good texture. Classic envelope head shape with good skull, well set ears. Large round dark eyes, good muzzle width & depth. Head well carried on well laid shoulders, deep chest. Feminine but with good body substance & condition. Large flat feet. Good tail set & carriage. Moved true either end & with typical rolling gait. Pushed hard for BIS but I just preferred the overall body shape of the dog. BB & BOS

 OPEN BITCH (3/1)

1. Morley & Hitchcock’s SHANTALLAH SAVANNA AT LIZLANMOR Black masked red. Feminine girl of good substance and in well prepared coat of good texture, and condition. Pleasing head although ears set a bit lower than ideal. Large dark round eyes & open nares. Short coupled body with good depth of chest & well set and carried tail. Moved a little close front & rear.
