I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of the Leeds City & District Canine Association for inviting me to judge. My sincere thanks also go to my stewards, Mrs Hilary Cook and Mrs Marcia Egbury, for their invaluable assistance throughout the day.

I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to assess their dogs. I was presented with a number of quality exhibits, with 9 dogs entered from an entry of 9. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality on display and was particularly satisfied with my final line-up, where I was delighted to find some outstanding examples of the breed. I was thrilled to have the chance to have seen all three colours.

Class Post Graduate Dog 2 Entries 

1st: Roberts – Farmwatch Fast And Furious

Black and Gold, 3 years old. Clean, masculine head with a moderately broad skull and correct, dark, oval, medium-sized eyes. Well-set ears with slightly rounded tips, hanging loosely. Nice, tight lips and a good scissor bite. Strong, medium-length neck with well-laid shoulders. Effortless movement, correct coat, and presented in good condition.

2nd: McLure – Pines Mansion At Kanukalos 

Black and Gold, 2 years old, and one I have judged before at a show last year. Nicely combines type and quality, with a pleasing head and dark, oval, medium-sized eyes, good in shape and proportion. Correct scissor bite, with good bone and substance. Presented in nice condition. I simply preferred the movement of the winner.

Class Open Dog – 1 Entry

1st: White & Whitmore – Johan Hovi-Raj Of Driftingsky (IMP SVN)

Black & Gold, 4 years old. My star of the day, he caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Masculine head with dark, oval, medium-sized eyes, a correct scissor bite and a strong muzzle. Muscular neck flowing into a good lay of shoulder. Well-balanced outline, both standing and on the move, with a strong topline. Moved soundly, with an effortless, ground-covering gait. Presented in a quality coat with a good sheen. I was thrilled to award him Best Dog and Best of Breed.

Class Veteran Dog – 1 Entry

1st: Tyerman & Challoner – Farmwatch Snow Shadow 

Black & Gold, 8 years old. A lovely type who makes a very pleasing picture, with good bone and substance. Good masculine head with dark eyes, moderate length of neck and a good front. Well-proportioned body, maintaining a level topline and carrying just the right amount of body. Another presented in lovely condition. I was pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog and Best Veteran Dog.

Class Post Graduate Bitch – 2 Entries  

1st: McLure – Hightimbers Ticket To Dream At Kanukalos  

Black & Gold, 6 years old. A quality, mature girl, presented in a lovely coat and excellent condition. Feminine head with dark, oval eyes and a moderate stop, giving a kind expression. Correctly set, triangular-shaped ears, good scissor bite with tight lips. Strong, medium-length neck, with elbows fitting tightly to the chest and a strong topline. Covered the ground effortlessly with good, sound movement. I was pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex.

2nd: Robinson Brown – Hightimbers Oreo Cookie Shcex 

Black & Gold, 4 years old. Another pleasing exhibit with a feminine head and kind expression. Lovely neck flowing into a nice lay of shoulder, with a well-balanced outline and moderately angulated rear. Well-feathered tail, with a coat of the correct texture and presented in good condition. Just not quite as sound on the move as my winner.

Class Open Bitch – 1 Entry  

1st: Christopherson – Hightimbers Ticket To Evita 

Blonde, 6 years old. Another quality bitch with a lovely feminine head, dark, oval eyes and a lovely temperament. Excellent outline with a strong topline and well-angulated quarters, enabling her to move soundly. Strong, medium-length neck, good scissor bite and well-set, correctly placed ears. In full coat and presented in super condition. I was pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

Class Veteran Bitch – 2 Entries (Abs: 1) 

1st: Hemsworth – Hightimbers Travel Tickets Nov EX 

Black, 8 years old. A quality veteran with an ultra-feminine, well-proportioned head, lovely oval, dark eyes and a moderate stop. Strong, medium-length neck, good shoulders, well-ribbed body and nice depth of brisket. Strong topline and excellent outline. Moved effortlessly and soundly. Lovely textured coat, presented in super condition. I was pleased to award her Best Veteran Bitch and Best Veteran in Breed.
