I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the invitation to judge at this show. My thanks also go to my stewards, Ms Joanne Bednall and Mrs Hazel Warrener, who kept everything running smoothly throughout the judging.

I had an entry of 23, making a total entry of 24. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to go over this charming breed. My sincere appreciation goes to the exhibitors for allowing me to judge their lovely dogs.

1st: Hardman & Bamber – Bonosue Jack To A King

Nine-month-old puppy, alone in the class, who showed well once settled. Good size and coat for his age, with correct tailset and bend of stifle. Well-balanced head and overall pleasing outline. Just needs time to mature, which he certainly has on his side. Presented in good condition and a worthy winner. Best Dog Puppy.

Junior Dog (1 Entries)

1st: Connell – Sonorra Enter The Dragon

Another excellent quality young masculine dog of 15 months, with a terrific head and near-perfect balance. Large teeth with a correct scissor bite mouth, in good shape and full of quality throughout. Dark eyes, well-carried ears, and a good neck gradually widening into the shoulders. Racy body with fairly sprung ribs, a strong straight back, and a good set of quarters. Correct harsh coat, moved and showed well, and was presented in super condition. Today he had to take a back seat to his sire, but I was thrilled to award him the Reserve CC.

Open Dog (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Connell – Ch Sonorra The Godfather.

My star of the day caught my eye immediately on entering the ring. A 2½-year-old who has already done great things for the breed. Correct size with a super coat and colour, excellent body shape, and full of Irish type and character. Long, lean head with a powerful jaw, dark eyes well filled underneath, and well-placed ears. Large teeth with a correct scissor bite. Slightly heavier than the second, but balanced throughout. Neck of good length, good depth of chest, well ribbed back, straight topline, small feet, excellent tailset, and presented in first-class order. The best mover in the class. Thrilled to award him the CC and Best of Breed, and delighted to see him go on to win Terrier Group 3 under Mrs F. Chapman-King.

2nd: Cooke – Montelle Flash Light To Lionwood

Three-year-old quality smart dog with a very good head and true Irish expression. Excellent front, good topline and tailset. Moved well and showed beautifully. His coat fitted well and he was presented in excellent condition. Very well handled, as always, by this exhibitor.

Best Veteran Dog and Best Veteran in Breed.

Her quarters are developing very well, and she was presented in excellent coat and condition. She moved and handled well throughout and certainly has a bright future ahead of her.
