BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW – Friday 8th May
WHIPPET DOGS
I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of Birmingham National for the honour of inviting me to judge Whippet dogs for the first time at their well-run and welcoming show. My thanks also go to the exhibitors for their excellent entry and sportsmanship, and to my two excellent stewards who kept the ring flowing smoothly throughout the day. Overall, the dogs presented were clean, fit, and in excellent condition.
I was delighted to share the appointment with Zara Boyle, who was also awarding CCs in the breed for the first time. We were fortunate to have two excellent line-ups, and while we both admired each other’s principal winners, we ultimately agreed to call for the referee to decide Best of Breed, each remaining loyal to our own selection. Best Puppy and Best Special Beginner were also very closely contested, with BPIB having two real quality youngsters.
