I was so honoured to have the privilege of judging at this, the biggest and best show in the world.
Also having such a lovely entry with such lovely dogs, and friendly exhibitors .
Thank you to my two lovely lady Stewarts who kept me on the straight and narrow.
I would also like to say, please remember that your breed has a very dense undercoat and it does go under the tummy and to the rear where their knickers are and needs the special attention that you give the top coat when grooming, all dewclaws were present and temperaments superb.
Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog 1(0)
1st/ Stevenson’s Moasdileas Hen Broon, a 4 ½ year old male of good round dark eye, high set in ears with good fringing, excellent pigmentation throughout, scissor bite with strong teeth, and pigmentation on the tongue, short well muscled neck, on to decent shoulders and strong bone, Well muscled through short in pasterns and tight feet , moved with good gait straight out and back.
Puppy Dog 3(0)
1st/ Fieldsend’s Starwell Here Comes Solo, an 11 month old lad of good out line, well grown with lovely head containing a strong muzzle scissor bite with clean strong teeth, dark amber colour in well set round shaped eyes, well pronounced occiput, well feathered high set ears, good in muscle level topline held on the move and standing, tight in feet with good hair cover, low set tail of good length, good strong double dewclaws which were fixed and padded. Clean in coat . One of the best here today for smooth, ground covering movement, fought hard for top spot in challenge, just needs a bit more maturity. One to watch for the future I feel. Best Puppy.
2nd/ Adkin & Pickering’s Bouvibear Rockefeller Gem a 9 month old lad of good structure, with a decent head, consisting of high set ears, not the feathering of first, dark eyes, scissor bite, well muscled neck on to decent bone for his age, level in top line standing and movement tail of correct length, double dewclaws correct not as strong as firsts, movement not as true as firsts.
3rd/ Roberts’s Bouvibear Emerald Banjo. Litter brother to second, nowhere as mature in showmanship as first two, and very hard to assess as full of fun. But I did manage to do all the important bits and what I found was good, both he and handler just need time and training.
Junior Dog 1(0)
1st/ Adkin & Pickering’s Un Ami Falcora del Somni Catala to Bouvibear (Imp Deu) Nld Jch at 13 months old I found this lad pleasing in that he had a well-developed strong head with dark eye and well feathered high set ears, scissor bite, teeth could have been cleaner, strong well muscled in neck, tight feet level topline well held throughout, tail a little high set which in turn made it shorter in length and no hook or curve at its lowest part. Good in dewclaw attachments and both on each leg present. Clean in coat.
Post Graduate Dog 3(1)
1st/ Stevenson’s Peregos Lone Ranger a 19 month old boy with well balanced head in proportions, dark well opened eye, good set on ears with amble feathering, scissor bite with clean teeth, short well muscled neck, on to decent forequarters and strong bone. Prominent shoulders, leading on to level topline which was held on move and standing, good angulation throughout, tail set correct and held a low set sabre tail which was well covered with wavy hair. Well fixed double dewclaws with good pads Move well within himself Clean in coat.
2nd/ Hansford & Donnelly’s Cami Vida Bilbo Sirius at Peregos (Imp Deu) at 4 ½ years old this lad was giving the first a run for his money, with his well balanced head and correct eye shape and colour which also had a very pronounced moustache and beard, scissor bite with clean teeth, well muscled all through, strong in dewclaw and tight feet. Out of coat completely.
Open Dog 4(2)
1st/ Fieldsend’s Int/fr/bel/ir/nld Ch Pacco Du Domaine Des Dhalbergs at Starwell (Imp Fra) W25,
Oh my, what a lad! I first saw this lad as a youngster, and now at just over 6 years of age, he’s matured into a lovely strong powerful well balanced lad with nothing overdone, strong in head with the loveliest of really alert kind expressions here today, coming from round dark amber eyes, short in muzzle with no snipiness at all, clean teeth giving a scissor bite blackest of pigmentation all through. tight in lips, short strong in neck well set into correct and well laid shoulders, good heart space, giving correct straight front movement, level topline held on the move and standing, short coupled through the loins and strong powerful hindquarters that took him around the ring in real smooth ground covering strides with perfect foot drop and daisy cutting lift of tight feet. Very strong and well attached with well padded dewclaws and low to the ground where they should be, good length of tail with desired hook, clean, rough coat with dense undercoat. Best Dog & Best of Breed.
2nd/ Stevenson’s Moasdileas Hen Broon, repeat of Good Citizen.
Veteran Dog 2(1)
1st/ Hansford & Donnelly’s Le Magicien D'oz Du Clos Millette at Peregos (Imp Fra),a lovely 10 year old lad that belittled his age, good head with clear bright eyes of good colour, clean teeth and all present, and very good pigmentation, still had the strength and balance with well set on ears with plenty of fringing, still had good muscle in his shoulders and good angulation all through, well held top line on standing and movement.
Best Veteran & Reserve Best Dog.
Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bitch 1(0)
1st/ Spice’s Fuga Sadie del Gosseria Guindilla Catala (Imp Deu) at just over 6 ½ years old this bitch again was in fine muscle throughout, with a very feminine head which had the correct eye colour of dark amber, and round in shape and clear, still in good muscle and has good angulation fore and aft, just could not reach the veteran male’s movement in the challenge.
Puppy Bitch 2(0)
1st/ Adkin & Pickering’s Bouvibear Isabella Emerald, these 9 month old litter sisters were thoroughly enjoying their day out but were both very over whelmed by everything and coupled by the fact that they both though it was play time, it did take a little ‘training’ and time to settled them both, for me to get my hands on them, but I did manage to do most of the import bits and this one was, out of the two, more biddable to allow me to. She very raw at the moment but temperaments were very good and they had good bone the movement was very lose and bouncy but neither the less with work and patience she had nothing that I could really fault with her, and once the handler talked to her, she manages to do a fairly good movement around the ring.
2nd/ Sherriff’s Bouvibear Catalina Emerald as I have already said hard to really asses on the day due to the sheer exuberance of them both of them both, dare I suggest that in future you enter them in different classes until they have learnt to grow up a bit. Again, I managed to check the dewclaws and teeth and being on her own to go around the ring she moved very well. Please persevere I think she will be worth it.
Junior Bitch. no entries
Post Gradute Bitch 2 (0)
1st/ Spice’s Fuga Sadie del Gosseria Guindilla Catala (Imp Deu) repeat of Good Citizen.
2nd/ Spice’s Hillbilly Kira Del Gosseria Guindilla Catala ( imp Deu) a 3 ½ year old lady that had a well balanced head with dark eye, good pigment, scissor bite from clean teeth, high set in ear could do with a bit more fringing, well muscled and tight feet, plenty of bone through out, moved out and back well and covered the ground but not the movement of first.
Open Bitch 6(0)
1st/ Adkin & Pickering’s Ir/bel/nld/int Ch Starwell Here We Go Again to Bouvibear Cpw22 Ir/nld/bel Jch, loved this bitch, such a feminine head with good balance all through, slight stop, with round open eye of dark amber, correct ear placement with plenty of fringe, short in neck which was well muscled, good heart room, ample bone, well laid in shoulders and fairly short coupled at the loins, slight slope of croup strong in hocks and strong dewclaws each well padded and low. Tight in feet with good covering of hair, she moved well, but the male was stronger in movement in the challenge. Best Bitch.
2nd/ Fieldsend’s Ir Ch Starwell The Show Must Go On again a lovely girl of 3 years of age, with again a stunning feminine head, with good eye colour and correct shape, good high ear set, nice clean teeth making a scissor bite, good width of chest into strong well muscled neck, level topline well held on the move, good angulation all round, strong well padded low placed dewclaws and tight feet. I felt the first just pipped her on her movement.
3rd/ Spicer’s Gosderiina Daffodil Dream. Another very feminine bitch this nearly 2 year old lass was well in contention as all 3 are half sisters and much applies as father being my BOB. This young lady was just a little bit behind in maturity to the first two, but again she was carrying a lovely feminine head with the correct eye colour and shape, and nice high set ears with the correct fringes, wonderful pigmentation all round, her stride was just a little more out of balance and she did not hold her topline as well as the first two.
Veteran Bitch 3(0)
1st/ Hansford & Donnelly’s Peregos Minerva's Wisdom, a 7 ½ year old very solid bitch, with good pigmentation, round dark amber eye, good clean in teeth giving a scissor bite, well muscled short neck into strong shoulders, strong in bone with tight feet, moved with her head level with her shoulders and covered the ground well. Reserve Best Bitch.
2nd/ Bland’s Kiandra Little Maggie, at nearly 12 years of age this bitch defied her age and moved to an advantage, good in head with scissor bite and although teeth were showing their age, they were clean and complete, not the muscle all through as first, and not the stronger movement of first, but still put on a good show.
3rd/ Fieldsend’s Nl Ch Starwell Opps We Did It Again with Rozimba TAF. Another 7 ½ year old lass that defied her age in muscle with a lovely feminine head clear dark amber eyes and wonderful pigmentation all through, again not the strong movement of first and topline a little soft.
