Judge Roger Perkins
I would like to thank the committee of the club for inviting me to judge at the show. I was very honoured. The venue was excellent and the hospitality second to none. I was pleased to have the opportunity to judge some real quality dogs and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me to assess your exhibits and for taking all my decisions in such a sporting manner.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (1)
1. Wilson & Connor’s SH CH Portrail Turns The Swag on For Pinereoch – L/W Overall a well balanced 9 year old bitch who was not showing her age. Feminine head with the correct proportions, depth to her muzzle. Neck strong and free from throatiness leading to well laid back shoulders, depth to her chest and well sprung ribs. Muscular hindquarters with hocks well let down. Moved freely with typical gait. BV
Yearling Dog (2)
1. Tolladay’s SH CH Chanangel Yorkshire Ale With Bethersden JW - L/W. Masculine head with a strong jaw and good chiselling, clean neck leading into a well laid back shoulder, deep brisket, well sprung ribcage, Forelegs straight with good bone and tight compact feet. Muscular hindquarters and hocks well let down. Moved out really well with typical gait, covering the ground with ease with correct tail carriage. For me on the move I would like to see a bit more width behind. RBD
2. Jenkinson’s Eastriding Devotion – B/W masculine head with enough depth of muzzle, correct ear set, would like a touch more length to his neck, straight forelegs, deep chest with good spring of ribs, muscular hindquarters and well let down hocks. Shown in excellent coat and condition. On the move he was free flowing with good rear drive, out and back I would like to see straight from action.
Post Graduate Dog (1)
1. Jenkinson’s Eastriding Royal Gold – masculine, balanced head with good depth to his muzzle and defined stop, neck long and clean into well laid back shoulders, good bone and round feet, depth to his chest and well sprung ribs, muscular loin and hindquarters. Moved soundly in profile but with slightly high tail carriage.
Limit Dog (2,1)
1. Stevenson’s Peasblossom Brogan At Gaolachcara – L/W masculine head with correct proportions, good depth to his muzzle and correct ear set, clean neck into well laid back shoulders, straight well boned forelegs, chest deep with good spring of ribs and muscular short loin. On the move in profile, he presented a balanced picture but not as true away and back.
Open Dog (5,4)
1. Walker, Walker & Nicklin’s SU/DK CH Daenerys Catching Fire at Dexbenella – L/W loved the overall balance of this dog both stacked and on the move, nothing overdone in any way. On the move he was sound from all angles and carried his tail well. If I was being critical, I would like to see a more masculine head, but nonetheless, it is balanced and of the correct proportions. His long muscular neck leads into well laid back shoulders and straight well boned forelegs. He has a deep chest and well sprung ribs, muscular loin and broad thighs. Another shown in excellent coat and condition. BD
2. Wilson & Connor’s SH CH Pinereoch No Stunts Larrie – moved well in profile with typical gait but just a bit close behind. Head masculine, with kind expression, ear set correct and of good length, slightly arched clean neck, not the forechest of the winner, good spring of ribs and well muscled hindquarters.
3. Tracz’s Beresford on my Way With Acregate
Puppy Bitch (1)
1. Walker, Walker & Nicklin’s Moontorn Dare to Dream With Dexbenella – L/W 9 month old, really like this young girl who has the most elegant of heads with a melting expression, balanced throughout with nothing overdone. Straight forelegs, deep chest, well sprung ribs and muscular loin. When she settled, she moved soundly for one so young and was true from all angles. She carries her tail higher than I would like, but I’m sure that will settle as she matures as the tail set is correct. BPIS
Junior Bitch (1)
1. Calvdale Lizzie Stark – L/W almost 12 months old and not the biggest of bitches, head balanced with nothing overdone, neck muscular, straight forelegs with enough bone, compact tight feet, well developed chest and good spring of ribs. On the move she has the typical gait but just lacks strength behind, but I’m sure that will come as she matures.
Yearling Bitch (4,3)
1. Jenkinson’s Eastriding Royal Style – Loved the overall shape of this bitch which she held on the move, compact and symmetrical. Fairly broad and balanced head, chiselling clear under the eyes, strong, muscular neck, well laid back shoulders, plenty of bone and substance, well sprung ribcage and moderate hind angulation. On the move she was true from all directions with the typical gait and good tail carriage. RBB & RBIS
2. Calvert’s Elazlan Elle For Leather – shorter in body than first, and another who took a while to settle but presented a pleasing picture in profile when she did. Feminine balanced head, enough length to her neck, good spring of ribs and muscular loin. Shown in excellent coat and condition.
3. Stevenson’s Spuffing Daiquiri at Gaolachcara
Limit Bitch (4)
1. Rose’s Pinereoch Amethyst of Rosannoch – L/W who is full of breed type, compact well balanced, feminine head with clean neck leading to well laid back shoulders, would prefer slightly more width to her chest, well sprung ribs, loin strong with slight arch and well muscled hindquarters. She moved with purpose with good reach and drive and correct tail carriage.
2. Jenkinson’s Barecho Fame Queen at Eastriding - Not the condition of the first and lacked the balance throughout. Feminine head, short neck, well laid back shoulders, well sprung ribs. Moved well.
3. Joyce’s Peasblossom Aura at Felltops
Open Bitch (2)
1. Corbett’s Sieger’s See Eye to Eye With Trimere NAF - L/W, loved the overall shape of this girl who was full of breed type. Feminine head with kind expression, fairly broad skull, good stop with clear fluting, flat cheeks and square flews. Strong long neck into well laid back shoulders and straight well boned forelegs, with good return of upper arm. Depth to her chest, ribs well sprung and strong over her loin. I couldn’t fault her movement out and back. Her side profile shows free moving front action and drive from the rear, holding her topline and carrying her tail out. Shown in super condition and handled to get the absolute best out of her. Couldn’t deny her BB and BIS today.
2. Smith’s SH CH Melverly Iridescent – L/W another who has lots of breed type and good qualities but is heavier set than the first. Preferred the overall length of the class winner, she has a balanced head and kind expression, clean muscular neck, straight well boned forelegs, well laid back shoulders and excellent spring of rib. Muscular short coupled loin and moderate angulation. Another that moved soundly, showing good reach and drive. A worthy champion.
