1909. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Veteran Dog

1st Rachanmill Columbo (Mrs H & Miss J Macpherson)
Although he was the only one in this this class, he was adequate for first position. He has a very well-balanced masculine head with a dark eye. Standing four squared he has an adequate lay of shoulder into a level top-line and a deep well sprung rib. Standing, his four legs are balanced so he moved out quite well for a very mature dog.
However, my Best Veteran was Ch. Woodfinch Masquerade (Mr D & Mrs R Bellamy) who was my third placing in Open Dog; a male of absolute quality and it is doubtless that he is a really good champion! I have watched his career with interest but as he has got older he has lost some of his best condition and sparkle. Nevertheless, I was still very pleased to award him Best Veteran in Breed given the absolute quality of his structure.

1st Flatcharm Mr Brisk (Miss K L Holland)
This puppy dog has a most lovely head and expression onto a good reach of neck and a good return of upper arm. He also has perfectly straight front legs with the neatest of feet. A very good balanced dog, he also has a very good bend of stifle with well let down hocks and straight back pasterns. I am sure he will mature well since he also moved out very well today.
1912. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Junior Dog

1st Flatcharm Mr Potato Head (Mrs J A & Mr S Woodhams)
A very well boned youngster with a good future, standing with a classic outline, very level and firm in top-line; carrying his tail to perfection. He is deep in chest and he is equally well made in quarters with a good bend of stifle. With good confirmation he moved around the ring efficiently with lovely reach and drive.
2nd Apples'n'pears Howard Stern (Mrs Sawa)
This youngster needs more time to come together. He does have straight well boned front legs with the neatest of feet but with his lack of maturity he needs to develop his lay of shoulders more and he needs more experience to settle on the move with good reach and drive but should have a good future.
1913. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Yearling Dog

1st Flatcharm Paper Snow A Ghost (Miss K L Holland)
This is a lovely young dog with a masculine head, dark eyes and good pigmentation. He also has good angulation fore and aft with a correct well sprung rib and well-muscled quarters. He won this class being very impressive on his movement; carrying a level top-line and correct tail. Also shown in good condition with lovely coat and presentation.
2nd Flatcharm Dark Secret at Churchking (Mr D J M Churchard)
Another impressive young male with a classic head, dark eyes and good pigmentation. He has a good reach of neck into a level top-line and well set tail. He stands with straight well boned front legs and neat feet. This young male was also presented well in good coat; Handled beautifully he came to stand perfectly after he had moved very well.

1st Kvicksans The Master Piper at Bluewaters (Imp Swe) JW Sgwc (Mrs J Wild)
This 3 1/2-year-old dog won this class on movement. When he came to stand he raised and showed a good head with a bright and intelligent expression. His front is sound and he has adequate stifles. He is well boned with excellent tight feet. I would prefer he carried his tail more level on the move but he was shown with a good coat and a well-muscled body.
2nd Everblack Enjoying Life (Miss A.M. Parmee)
He has a very good outline with a good reach of neck and level top-line but he needs a little more brisket. He does have a short-coupled body that is in good balance and very much like my first place today. However, his tail is well set and carried correctly. This lad has very neat feet and he also moved out reasonably well; a close decision with my first place.
1915. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Limit Dog

1st Bitcon Alliance with Bluewaters (ai) JW (Mrs J Wild)
This male has all of the balance he needs. A very good head, dark brown eyes and correct bite. He has a good reach of neck into well laid shoulders into a level top-line. He has a good brisket and a well-balanced body. He has a straight front with well boned legs and correct well bent stifles. As he is very well made, he moved out very well. I was very pleased to award him first in limit dog.
2nd Flatcharm Griffin Dark at Churchking (Mr D J M Churchard)
A good looking male with a lovely moulded one-piece head. He has the correct depth of chest and he has a very good top-line and tail set. Indeed, he has a very good outline! His hocks are well let down and back pasterns are parallel and straight. On the move he is good but I just preferred my first place today.

1st Flatcharm Serious Pig (Ms C Ramunno)
A lovely dog with a classic head, straight front forelegs with well arched neat tight feet. He is deep in brisket, a well bodied spring of rib, good hind quarters and is in really hard condition. He moved and covered the ground well and was extremely well presented. Please to award him the Dog CC.
2nd Moontorn Black Magic (Mrs C Harvey)
This dog is also very good in quality and close to first. He has good angulation fore and aft, deep brisket and he is firm in top-line with his tail well carried. I loved his quarters but felt that my winner of this class just pipped him on movement. Res Dog CC.

1st Flanova Brown Eyed Girl (Mr B & Mrs L Clark)
A 22-month-old feminine bitch with a reasonable lay back of shoulder and sufficient quarters. She was shown in lovely coat and she was in good condition which enable her to move well.
2nd Gemswin Angel in Blue Jeans avec Daisyhome (Miss G & Mr D Fresle & Knox)
This bitch has a good outline but needs a more maturity. She has a pleasing feminine head with a good reach of neck and level top-line. She needs to gain more experience on movement which will improve her for the future.
1918. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Veteran Bitch

1st Hameldowntor Music of The Night VW (Mr A J Wilson)
This quality mature bitch has a lovely classic head with perfect dark eyes, and she has correct pigmentation. She has straight well boned front legs, with the neatest of feet. She is again firm in top-line and has excellent quarters. She was shown in lovely condition and moved very well indeed.
2nd O'flanagan Brogan's Legacy at Ravenhall (Imp Swe) (Mrs S Kearton)
This bitch has a very correct head with a dark eye and balanced skull. She has a good body with well sprung ribs and a level top-line. She was presented in lovely coat and condition but she needs to move a little more efficiently.
1919. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Braemist Chase The Spirit at Ravenhall (Mrs S Kearton)
She was the only one in this class but is well off for bone and body for an 8-month-old puppy. She has the most feminine beautiful head, slight stop with correct shaped dark eyes and intelligent expression; with the neatest of ears. Unfortunately, she was not settled on the move and did not show exactly as she should; so she needs more time and experience in the ring to win classes.
1920. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Puppy Bitch

1st Bochilbarley Fire and Spice (Mrs P Bellamy)
Although she was the only bitch in this class she has a classic feminine head but needed a little more coat today and a little more maturity. She is a well boned puppy, who is correctly short in loin and she has well let down hocks; so she moved really well.
1921. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Junior Bitch

1st Moontorn Chasing The Dream JW (Miss A Bellamy)
This is one I considered for the Res CC. She is a lovely bitch with a classic head with such dark and expressive eyes. Standing she has perfectly straight front legs onto tight round feet. Her body is correctly deep in chest and she has a well sprung rib. I also loved her quarters; as she was really sound on the move. She just needed a little more coat today but she is a star in the making!
2nd Pajanbeck Hold My Halo (Mr P & Mrs J & Miss S & Mrs V Egginton & Egginton & Egginton & Davis)
This youngster was handled excellently. Another lovely bitch who is also full of quality. However, she needs a little more maturity to complete her outline, but she moved out very well and I am sure she will have a promising future.
1922. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Yearling Bitch

1st Flatcharm Regina Phalange (Miss K L Holland)
Another lovely bitch with a classic moulded one-piece head. She is full of quality with the straightest of fronts and the tightest of feet. She is deep in chest and short in loin; with good angulation fore and aft and stands firm in top-line. She won this class on movement and was shown in lovely coat and condition.
2nd Clandrift Funky Angel (Mrs V Bowen)
This is a nicely presented bitch with a classic head and nice well shaped eyes. She is deep in chest and she is a well-muscled bitch. She moved soundly but not quite as attractive on the move today as my winner.
1923. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Post Graduate Bitch

1st Flatterhaft Santa Ines (Ms A Karlsson)
This winner was shown in lovely condition with a very nice and well-prepared coat. Her body is balanced and she has equally good angulation fore and aft with well let down hocks and straight back pasterns. Being very well made and presented, she took my eye as she moved around the ring impressively, hence I was pleased to award her first.
2nd Pajanbeck One Moment in Time (ai) (Mr P, Mrs J & Miss S & Mrs V Egginton & Davis)
First and second were two quality bitches, with similar attributes. They were well presented and both are standing with a good outline. My second place is also lovely in profile with a firm top-line and a good outline; also moving out well. A close decision between these two girls.
1924. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Limit Bitch

1st Riverglide Santa Barbara at Flanova (Mr B & Mrs L Clark)
This ideal bitch has a lovely outline when standing with a correct depth of chest. She has very good forequarters and she is well off for bone with the neatest of feet. This female is short coupled with a correct tailset. She carried her tail beautifully level on the move. She was well shown and well handled.
2nd Windyhollows English Holly at Llantrussa (Mrs C & Mrs L Price & Nicholls)
She was very well presented with straight and well boned front legs and again, she has lovely tight round feet. She has a good upper arm and an ideal head. Her quarters are excellent and well-muscled. She is just not quite as good in her lay of shoulder as my winner today but nevertheless she has good overall quality.
1925. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Open Bitch
Entries: 3 Absentees: 1
1st Burpham Lotties First Love JW (Mrs L M Strudwick)
A classic bitch with a pleasing feminine head set onto a good reach of neck; into well-laid back shoulders and exception return of upper arm. Forelegs set in perfect position and she is well sprung in rib, short coupled in body and has a balanced bend of stifle with well let down hocks. Her tail is well set and very well carried. Her movement is classic carrying her head ideally and driving well with her quarters. When she comes to a stance every paw is exactly in the right position hence I was pleased to award her the Bitch CC and Best of Breed. I was pleased to learn this was her 3rd CC, to make her up today.
2nd Sh Ch Kazval Angel in Your Sky over Feldkirk (K Anderson)
Another lovely bitch, full of quality with excellent forehand angulation. She moves exceedingly well, reaching out with extension and drives well from her hind-quarters. Pleased to award her the Reserve Bitch CC.
