South Yorkshire Whippet Club
South Yorkshire Whippet Club Championship Show
11th July 2026
I was delighted to be asked to judge bitches at this well- known club. Giving Challenge certificates for the first time in whippets, I was unsure of the entry I would draw and was so pleased with both quantity and quality. Many thanks to the committee and exhibitors. It was a very enjoyable day especially as my co-judge and I didn’t find it difficult to agree on the main show winners. There are some really lovely whippets being shown currently but one thing that is becoming noticeable is sharp upright shoulders that finish above the spine.
Veteran 13/4
1) Aarminias Princess China of Bowdonia, 8 yrs ( Thomas), Brindle girl of a lovely size and shape. Expressive dark eye, thin ears, strong neck leading to good shoulders. Typical body properties having well developed muscle. Moved very well to win this class.
2) Cobyco Could Be The Last at Mulcair, 10 yrs (Whitaker-Crosby), Another brindle girl full of quality , denies her age. She has a good head and neck, well sprung rib and good muscle tone.
Baby Puppy 4/2
1) Shalfleet Gabrielle, (Wilton-Clarke) 5 months, red fawn brindle with a super dark eye, for me correct size at this stage. Everything in the right place . She shows great promise and won this class as she has her act together . Lovely outline and has muscle developing. One I shall watch with interest.
2) Courtbirch Moonstone At Loroli, black brindle that is very eye catching. Not as ‘together’ as 1 but will develop into her lovely curves. Has good head, dark eye and fine ears. Could well be another to watch.
Minor Puppy 2
1) Ballaurens Diamond, ( Cooper) 9 months, fawn and white , was initially a little anxious on the table but soon stood nicely. Creates a balanced picture standing with a good head , loved her fine ears, good length of neck flowing to well -placed shoulders. Has deep chest . Developing as she should .
2) Silkridge Parti Time ( Ross), 7 months, fawn and white baby giving a lot away to 1 today as expected with age difference of 2 months. Lovely puppy with well- placed shoulders, good bone, slight arch over loin and firm muscle. Will be one to watch as she grows up.
Puppy 7
1) Crème Anglais Oh Em Gee, (Akerboom-Van Der Schaaf), fawn and white, lovely sized puppy with a very attractive dark eye, good head and neat ears. Loved her length of neck that flows to well laid back shoulders. She has an impressive depth of chest reaching her elbow, and good spring of rib. I would prefer a shorter length of loin to be splitting hairs, hind angulation and width of stifle are strong but remain feminine. Nicely muscled puppy. In agreement with my co-judge was awarded BPIS.
2) Palmik Raindrop (Howgate & Hull), fawn brindle, well- shaped curvy puppy with much to like about her. Feminine head with correct ear set, creates a balanced picture with good length of neck and smooth over the shoulders. Well boned, has the desired rise over loin.
I’m sure she has a bright future.
3) Danluke Legs Eleven (Johnston & Wilson)
Junior 6/1
1) Collooney Senorita Sisi (Short) fawn brindle girl with attractive head, lovely dark eye, fine ears set well, well placed shoulders, correct body properties. She has a good length of loin . The hind quarters complete a balanced youngster with correct tight feet.
2) Loroli Devil In The Detail ( Burton), black brindle and white with a good head and super dark eye. Like her lengthy neck, good in body with deep chest, correct loin and hind quarters.

1) Edenwhip Moment In Thyme (Mallinson), Red fawn brindle with hazel eye, has a good front and body properties. Good in pastern. Liked her for size.
2) Bowdonia Elphaba ( Thomas), Fawn brindle of larger make than 1. Attractive head with a dark eye, good length of neck and well laid shoulder. Good depth of brisket.

Graduate 9/2
1) Nevedith Gold Glow Of Demerlay (Head) Fawn and white with dark mask. Lovely head with good ear set, long strong jaw. Depth of chest is pleasing; I would prefer shoulders to be further laid back but nevertheless a well put together girl.
2) Winner of novice
3) As 2 in junior
Post Graduate 9/2
1) Lolani Tennessee Princess ( Lain) Light fawn of very good shape, lovely length of neck that leads to well laid shoulder, correct depth with good spring of rib, strong over loin with muscular hind quarters. Moved well to win this quality class.
2) Edenwhip I’m A Bright Star ( Lister & Swarbrick) Similar comments apply . I just preferred shoulder and loin of 1.
3)Stormida Squirrels for Tea ( Middleton & Gilhooly )
Mid-limit 8/3
1) Cobyco Capture The Moment ( Yacoby- Wright ) Pale fawn brindle girl so well proportioned. Really feminine head and dark eye, fine ears and good length of neck. Excellent shoulders, good spring of rib and depth. She has short coupling and well developed muscle at rear. All in all a lovely girl that I’m sure will go on to do very well.

3) Elmanash Glenlossie ( Holland )
Limit 13, 1 WD
1) Bowdonia Sky Full Of Stars ( Thomas ) Fawn brindle girl of correct size for me. Feminine head with a pleasing dark eye epitome of whippet, thin ears and strong long neck. Brisket meets her elbow with correct spring of rib. Has a defined tuck up and is strong over the loin. Rear angulation is spot- on, width of stifle is lovely without losing femininity and well developed muscle completes the picture. RBCC
2) Falconcrag On It ( Marston- Pollock) Light fawn with good proportions and much to like about her. Feminine in every way with good neck length , depth of chest that reaches elbow . Rear angulation and musculature lovely.
3) Richclass Miss Atomic Bomb.
Open 12/5
1) Crème Anglaise’s Entourage On Tour (Akerboom & Peters) Black brindle with white trim. This girl catches your eye when coming to the ring. Very pretty feminine head with super dark eye. I loved her long neck that flows so well into her correctly placed shoulders. Lovely depth of chest meeting her elbow. From elbow to loin she has a defined underline, with gentle tuck up. Over her loin she has muscle and firmness that leads to her well angulated rear quarters. Loved her muscle tone and well angulated hind quarters. She flows on the move and creates a captivating presence. I could not deny her top honours today and awarded her the BCC. Later to be told that gave her, her well- deserved crown. With my co-judge was awarded BIS.
2) Zobyco Cobyco Paranoria ( Yacoby-Wright ) Fawn brindle and white, smaller make than 1, full of quality. Beautiful curvaceous girl with hazel eye, feminine head and flowing lines. She has ideal bone and firm muscle tone. At barely 2 years old I’m certain of a bright future for her.
