JACK RUSSELL TERRIER - RICHMOND 11.09.26

Many thanks to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs for me to run the rule over at Richmond. The grass was a little long and dry for short legged terriers to cope with so assessing movement was not that easy. I was so delighted to see my BOB pulled to the cut in the Group and my BP take Group 3. All had correct dentition, but I was surprised to find so many lacking in muscle tone.

1st: TATE, Mrs K & NAGRECHA, Mr Aaron Chandlimore Major For Jaeva, at just 6 months this pup is showing early promise as so well-proportioned all through. Enough stop to his head, good ears which he used and correct angulation both fore and aft plus moving well. Full of beans and such a happy character, I was pleased to award him BP, Res BD & he later took Puppy group 3.

Class LD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 Difficult class to judge.

1st: MIGNANO-FRICKER, Mrs S & FRICKER, Mr Philip Moorbell Moon And Stars Over Calavey (Imp It) Well balanced and with correct body proportions, this 2 yr old impressed for his head and dark eye, clean neck shoulders well back. He is good for ribbing and topline with hocks well let down, moved OK. Well-groomed and presented although harder musculature would complete the picture. Best Dog.

2nd: IRVING, Miss T J Twinan Silver Dollar, as hard as nails this dog impressed for his super conditioning, he’s so workmanlike. He is masculine all through with a skull of moderate width, keen expression and uses his ears. He has a pleasing front, strong quarters and neat feet, just preferring body proportions of 1st .

2nd: RUSHFORTH, Miss C Kaszavolgyi-furge Ophelia From Campionfield (imp Hun), although not the head of 1stas a little longer in the muzzle, this 10-month-old pleased in outline. Good for topline & tailset and front assembly.

Class PGB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: NAS, Mrs Sue & NAS, Mr Leo Shibumi Ballerina Girl, typy looking bitch with a pleasing head, although using her right ear more then the left! She has a strong neck into well placed shoulders, ample bone and muscular quarters.

2nd: WEBB, Ms Elizabeth Jane & ROWE, Mr Gary Kenleap Holly Brook At Nutjacks, a petite, feminine bitch who could perhaps do with a touch more length of leg to balance out. She has a pleasing head and is easily spannable with a good jacket.

3rd: RUSHFORTH, Miss C Adoraden Jack Of Diamonds

Class LB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: FOUBART, Mrs Valerie Violette Russtyle 's Du Vallon De L'alba (Imp) Fra. This bitch is very typy with a head of good proportions and pleasing furnishings. So well presented, she is turned out to perfection. She has correct body proportions, a good front, strong loin, decent bend of stifle and her hocks are well let down, although to be picky would have preferred a touch harder musculature. Moving well I was pleased to award her Res BB.

2nd: NAS, Mrs Sue & NAS, Mr Leo Cooleela Manguri At Shibumi, different type to 1st but still very appealing. Pleasing ear placement and a dark eye, she is good for topline and tailset, ok for spanning, however, would have preferred to see a touch more bend of stifle.

3rd: BARNES, Ms L & MANN, Mr Dan Jackaskip Popadom Preach

Class OB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 237 TATE, Mrs K & NAGRECHA, Mr Aaron Chandlimore Rainbow Over Jaeva, smart as paint, this bitch really appealed. So well-muscled, she took the long grass in her stride, literally, and moved with a free striding gait. With correct head proportions, standard ear carriage and a clean neck leading to excellent shoulder placement, easily spanned and presented in tip top condition. BB, BOB & pleased to see her pulled to the cut in the Group.

2nd: 227 MIGNANO-FRICKER, Mrs S & FRICKER, Mr Philip Calavey's Enchantress, very attentive to her handler, this bitch is ultra feminine & lithe all through. Easily spannable, has well angulated quarters, a super coat but not the muscle tone or shoulders of 1st .
