Welsh Kennel Club - Sunday 23rd August 2026- Golden Retrievers.

Veteran Dog (3)

1. Copley’s, Sh Ch Monchique Imperial Beau at Emmabe, 8 years old, a very pleasing type who has a balanced head with a lovely eye and expression. Nice flow from the neck to a lovely topline and good set on of tail. Good Bone and feet, he has balanced angulations and he moved well with an excellent side gait.

2. Foreman’s, Ambersun Alive and Kicking, 7 years old in excellent condition, with a masculine head and a lovely eye and expression. He has a nice reach of neck, but I would prefer a slightly stronger topline. Good bone and feet, I would prefer slightly stronger pasterns and a little more balance in his movement today.

3. Bednall & Milledge’s, Gunhills Time Traveller.

Minor Puppy Dog (6,2)

1. Cooper’s, Amilone Don’t Mind If I Do at Dikeadaze, 8 months old and a very pleasing type with a balanced outline. He has a lovely head with a nice eye and expression, good reach of neck and topline is good for his age, with an excellent croup. He was balanced on the move with an excellent side gait.

2. Layland’s, Applecote Winters Glow, 7 months old, a pleasing youngster with a very nice head, lovely eye and expression, good reach of neck. Today his topline was a little soft. He was balanced in his angulations, had an excellent underline and was very pleasing on the move.

3. Acharya Thiara’s, Glenleddon Gael Force.

Puppy Dog (6,1)

1. Cooper’s, Amilone Don’t Mind If I Do at Dikeadaze.

2. Foreman’s, Ambersun Another Adventure, 9 months old who could be a shade more compact, very nice head with a lovely eye and expression. Good neck and topline, very well angulated behind, he moved well holding an excellent topline.

3. Layland’s, Applecote Winters Glow.

Junior Dog (6,1)

1. Gerhold’s, Navilis Shchedryk, an impressive male of 14 months. He has excellent substance, a balanced head with a lovely eye and a kind expression. He has an excellent reach of neck and a nice flow onto an excellent topline. Good Bone and feet, well angulated front and rear and he moved really well with good reach and drive. Pleased to award him the Reserve Dog CC, will watch his progress with interest.

2. Jackson-Haines’, Leighsham Sweeney Todd, a very pleasing male 17 months, nice head with a lovely eye and expression. Nice reach of neck, today I would have preferred the topline a little firmer. Angulations are good front and rear, he has good bone and feet and moved freely with an excellent side gait.

3. Pietrykowski’s, It Takes Two Anarchia Box Wondertemple.

Yearling Dog (7,2)

1. Pietrykowski’s, It Takes Two Anarchia Box Wondertemple, 13 months old who presented a lovely outline. My notes say he could have a little more substance, but competing against older dogs, so time for that to come right. He has a balanced head of medium strength, with a very nice eye, good reach of neck and good topline. He holds a lovely shape on the move.

2. Evans’,Putjade Popster, 14 months old with a really nice shape. He has the most beautiful eye and expression, very good body proportions. He has good bone and feet, but at times he can stand better in front, he was pleasing on the move.

3. Goddard’s, Jorby Eternal Flame at Glansevern.

Novice Dog (4,1)

1. Pietrykowski’s, It Takes Two Anarchia Box Wondertemple.

2. Sellick’s, Cwmtaff Navigator,11 months old who placed in Puppy. He has a very pleasing head with a very nice eye. Good reach of neck and a good topline, he has enough bone, but I would like to see him stand better in front and be a little more balanced in angulations. Needs to settle on the move.

3. Charlesworth’s, Purbarn It’s a Solar Storm Over Ginnylands.

Graduate Dog (8)

1. Ellis’, Tenfield Dunkeld Dingo, Medium size 2 year old, who has a wonderful temperament. He has a pleasing shape, very nice eye and expression. Good bone and feet. Good reach of neck and hold shape well on the move.

2. Moore’s, Tenfield Klipspringer with Auryngra, Almost 3 years old, he is medium sized, with a pleasing head. Nice reach of neck, topline was ok. I would like to see him a shade more balanced on the move. A nice boy with a wonderful temperament.

3. Henson & Luckham’s, Flyngalee Hunky Dory.

Post Graduate Dog (10,1)

1. Henson’s, Cinderbank Move It, 4 years old with a masculine head, a pleasing eye. Good reach of neck and topline. Strong boned with good feet, angulation was good in the rear, his side gait was good but he is a little proud of his tail.

2. Main’s, Putjade Perran By Gwyngala, 2 years old golden boy who was a picture standing. He has a nice eye and expression, good reach of neck and excellent topline. Deep in the chest and good bone, would like his feet tighter. He disappoints a little on the move, can be better coming towards and find more balance in his side gait.

3. Williams’, Pantegparish Best Mate.

Mid Limit Dog (5)

1. McGugan’s, Westlow The Legend of Fingal to Invergoil Culzean, almost 4 years old, with a masculine head, pleasing eye and expression. He presents a very nice outline, nice flow from his neck into an excellent topline and croup. He moved well when settled.

2. Copley’s, Lalique Lord of the Rings at Hamcar, 6 years old who is a pleasing type and he presents a nice outline. He is well angulated behind, just needs to find some more balance in his side gait.

3. Jackson-Haines’, Leighsham The Cheeky Elf.

Limit Dog (7,1)

1. England’s, Brekswood Gentleman Jack, 3 years old, a very pleasing type. He has a nicely balanced head with a very nice eye and expression. He has a good reach of neck and an excellent topline. His angulations are balanced front and rear, he has good bone and feet. Excellent underline, he was really good coming and going and held a lovely shape on the move. Handler shows him to bait, I wonder if this really shows off all his virtues. Pleased to award him the Dog CC & BOB.

2. Webster’s, Kulawand Skies of Blue over Benjcroft, Almost 4 years old, a pleasing boy who was probably not in full bloom today, but he has lots of quality. Very nice outline, pleasing head, could have a touch more stop, nice reach of neck and good topline. I was pleased with his initial movement, but as class went on he started to falter, particularly in the rear.

3. Bednall & Milledge’s, Bencoe Big Time Operator.

Open Dog (6,1)

1. Vermander’s, Wild Wild West of Sunshines Valley, I was very pleased with my first three dogs in this class. This boy was 3 years old with a balanced medium strength head, a lovely eye and expression. He has a good reach of neck and good topline, good bone and feet, good spring of rib, he really went well on the move and held his shape well.

2. Black’s, Sh Ch Bencoe Just in Time Del Avrain, 4 years old, he presented a lovely outline standing. Beautiful eye, good neck and topline, good substance in the body, well angulated front and rear. On the move I would have preferred him a little better coming towards today, but he moved very well in the side gait.

3. Gerhold’s, Navilis Vivat Vivaldi.

Veteran Bitch (2)

1. Pounds-Longhurst’s, Rosgar Dolly O’Dare Among Mossburn, 9 years old Golden girl in super condition for her age. She presents a lovely outline, she has a feminine head with a lovely eye, nice neck and topline, good bone and she was balanced in her angulations and she was great on the move and has a wonderful temperament. Best Veteran in Breed.

2. Pratt’s, Rosyth Jennifer Eccles, 7 years old who is a very pleasing type. Just losing topline in the stance today. She has a balanced head with a very nice eye and expression. She has good bone and feet and moved really well for her age.

Minor Puppy Bitch (5)

1. Woolley’s, Amilone You’re Still The One, 8 months old golden girl, lovely type of excellent size and shape. She has a very pleasing feminine head with a lovely eye and expression. She has a good reach of neck and excellent topline and croup. Super temperament and she moved really well for her age.

2. Brown’s, Glenleddon Gentle Breeze, 8 months old, she is a steady pup who presents a lovely outline. She has a pleasing feminine head, good bone and feet, angulations are balanced front and rear and she moved well for her age.

3. Ellis’, Tenfield Fiery Sunset.

Puppy Bitch (10,2)

1. Vermander’s, Yellowstone Topaze of Sunshines Valley, 11months old, really eye catching youngster with a lovely feminine head, pleasing eye and expression. Balanced in her outline with a nice reach of neck, good topline and croup, she is well angulated front and rear and her movement was very pleasing both coming and going and she held a lovely shape in the side gait. Best Puppy in Breed. Was delighted to see her top the Puppy Group afterwards, I hope she fulfils this potential.

2. Nelson’s, Cadwst Eternal Ember, 10 months old very striking cream girl, lovely head with a nice eye, good pigment and lips. Nice reach of neck flowing into an excellent topline, she has good bone and feet and moved well.

3. Foreman’s, Ambersun Another Treasure.

Junior Bitch (4,2)

1. Garbitt’s, Genvamor Penny To My Name, 16 months old, she is a pleasing type who presents a very nice outline. She has a balanced head with a nice eye, good reach of neck and topline. She has good bone and feet and her movement was balanced.

2. Riley’s, Strettonhills Quevega, 14 months she is a pleasing type, who just needs to fill her frame now. She has a feminine head with a nice eye, good reach of neck and topline. She really excelled in the side gait.

Yearling Bitch (6,1)

1. Furbank’s, Kayzaelle Kumbuka Peace, 21 months, a lovely type with a balanced feminine head, she has a lovely reach of neck and a very good topline. Her angulations are balanced, she was excellent coming and going and moved really well in the side gait, holding a lovely shape.

2. Foreman’s, Ambersun Winter Treasure, Almost 2 years old, very pleasing type with a balanced head, a lovely eye and expression. Good reach of neck, good topline and croup. Balanced angulations, would prefer a little more strength to the pastern, she was lovely on the side gait, but just disappointed coming towards on the last movement.

Novice Bitch (10,1)

1. Nelson’s, Cadwst Eternal Ember.

2. Foreman’s, Ambersun Another Treasure, 3rd in Puppy Bitch 9 months old, she is a lovely type, with a feminine head and a lovely eye. Good neck and topline, balanced angulations, good bone and feet, would just like to see her stronger in the pastern. Moved well in the side gait.

3. Plevin’s, Brynbachlove Smiler for Bowshella.

Graduate Bitch (4)

1. Youngson’s, Linirgor Adeline at Treeveville, 2 years old, very pleasing girl who presents a lovely outline, good topline and croup. She has a pleasing head with nice eye and expression, angulations are balanced and she has good bone and feet. She holds a lovely shape on the move.

2. Nelson’s, Cadwst Song of Spring, another quality female of 2 years, feminine head with a lovely eye and expression. Nice neck and topline, she has good bone and excellent feet, she moved really well in the side gait holding a lovely shape.

3. Clunie’s, Warrentor Abilene.

Post Graduate Bitch (3)

1. Pratt’s, Rosyth Kind of Magic, 4 years old, she is a nice size and shape, she has a feminine head with a nice eye, lovely reach of neck flowing into a good topline and croup. She has good bone and feet, she moved well but could hold a better shape on the move.

2. Porter’s, Shearstone Dilly Gaff, 3 years old, happy girl of medium size with a medium strength head. Nice eye and a good reach of neck, but losing topline slightly in stance. She is well angulated behind, a little straighter in front.

3. Rees’, Drumkilty Merry and Bright for Catenae.

Mid Limit Bitch (7,2)

1. Rees’, Putjade Parsnip at Catenae, 6 years old, feminine head with a nice eye. Good bone and feet, nice neck and topline, she was nicely balanced on the move but quite a deep underline.

2. May’s, Cherrygold Storytellen, 4 years old, she was very pleasing, presenting a lovely outline. I would prefer her eye a touch darker, nice neck and topline, can stand better in front at times and she lost topline slightly on the move.

3. Greenhouse’s, Rumwood Endless Love at Tyloulabella.

Limit Bitch (11,2)

1. Jackson-Haines’, Leighsham Chantilly, 5 years old medium size with a lovely outline. She has a feminine head, lovely reach of neck, very nice topline with a good set on of tail, angulations were balanced and she was very pleasing on the move. Reserve Bitch CC

2. Woolley’s, Amilone Pinkster, 6 years old, a lovely female who presented a beautiful outline. She had a feminine head, I would have just preferred a darker eye. Lovely neck and topline, good set on of tail, well angulated front and rear and she was excellent on the move.

3. Nelson’s, Willowlawn Staycation at Cadwst.

Open Bitch (5,1)

1. Crookes & Jenkinson’s, Sh Ch Quakerhall Flare by Pandora, 6 years old with a lovely outline. She has a feminine head with a lovely eye and expression. Nice flow from the neck into an excellent topline, good tailset, well angulated front and rear. She has good bone and feet, very well presented, movement was good when settled, pleased to award her the Bitch CC

2. Rodgers’, Ambersun Passione of Odarla, almost 4 years old, a very pleasing type, who presents a lovely outline. Head is balanced with a nice eye and expression. Good reach of neck, topline was good, she has good bone and feet. She moved well, but could be a shade more positive in the rear moving away.

3. Broadhead’s, Strathlon Spirit of Ecstasy.
