Crufts

Breed: Spaniel (Clumber)

Always a delight to judge at Crufts, the highest profile and watched dog show in the world, thank you the RKC, Tom Mather and all the team

Spaniel (Clumber)

My goodness, there are some bad and or sad folk out there. A very decent, breeder, handler and judge castigated, simply because he showed a stunningly beautiful, healthy, vulnerable breed to a deservedly Best In Show win. Well, if you want pedigree dog shows to become extinct, you silly Folk are going the right way about it.

Actually, I wasn’t aware of where many of those with high honours came from, as I judge dogs and I am not on any social media, but I must say I really enjoyed a plethora of healthy quality dogs throughout the entry, congratulations to you Clumber folk.

1ST 17355 - Sh Ch Vanitonia Soloist (Mr L A S Cox).I have judged this one before and gave him the group, so it would be no surprise that he might figure in this place. However, he actually shocked me, how now at 4 years he had matured on and stepped up another level. What do I need to say, except he is bloody gorgeous and thoroughly deserved his accolades, so very well done to his clever breeder, a true and exacting dog man, we are lucky to have you. CC-BOB-GROUP 1-BEST IN SHOW.

2ND 17365 - Big Boom's Viking Thor (Mrs E Garamvolgyi Duthweilerne). Whilst I was very satisfied with my line up for top honours, I brought this one in to challenge and he just had the final finish that took him to this award. A very lovely sound, healthy Clumber, presented in the top drawer. Well done -I understand a repeat of last year’s dog challenge . RES CC.

Presented in fit body condition and went with good action and gay abandon. He is lovely and made me smile.

And in the challenge, she took it away. CC

2ND 17390 - Elskerwoo Cloudy Skies JW (Mr J & Mrs C Sainsbury). No need to be despondent at second here, this bitch is also a beauty and full of quality. She is a pleasure to lay hands on, held her shape on the move and presented in lovely order.

Neck flows from well laid shoulder. She has depth of developed chest, length of rib, short filled loin to well set tail. Strength behind from which she drove off. Lovely sort.

2ND 17401 - Suelynda Dream On (Mrs R Wareham). Rather liked this 2 -year-old. She was soundly built and well developed for such a youngster. She was presented in lovely condition and coat. Just preferred the neater flews of winner, but nit picking, as she was honest and went well.

2ND 17379 - Vanitonia Song and Dance JW (Miss E Matthews). This quality typy bitch was not as forward as the winner. She is very well put together, has plenty of bone and substance and the owner has good husbandry to have her fit and really well turned out in lovely coat.

1ST 17374 - Hr Ch Big Booms Incredible Boomy Jr (Mrs L Levai). Notice this 9 – year old is dam of the CC winner and she is a beautiful bitch, that can produce her attributes too. She certainly did not look or act her age, as she has personality and bearing to catch the eye. BVIB.

2ND 17356 - Abbyford Brave New Day * (Mrs J A Crawford).12 – years. At this stage in her life, she is a little stilted on the move and rather lacking bloom and a little body. Maybe she would, now, prefer to be at home in front of the fire.
