Firstly, I would like to thank my lovely stewards, who did a fantastic job and made my judging so much easier. It’s really appreciated. 

The exhibitors were very gracious in accepting my decisions, and in a couple of classes it was a real dilemma, as the attributes of the dogs were very close. I am sure that on another day, the placings could easily have been different.

The ring was not ideal, being quite small for a large breed and somewhat uneven. This did not help the dogs’ movement and must also have made it difficult for the exhibitors.

The entry was small, but the quality of my principal winners was undeniable, and I felt they were thoroughly deserving of their places.

1st: Mr & Mrs Cullen’s PHILOMA COLCANNON. Super smart puppy of just 6 months. Lovely shape in profile and his movement was very good for such a youngster. I would prefer a slightly longer head, but at 6 months he has time to develop. Nicely arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders, he has a good forechest for one so young, he has a good depth of body, with elbows tight to chest, forelegs of good straight bone, short loin, nicely angulated quarters with neat straight hocks, good tail set. Very well put together and showed with confidence. Best Puppy

1st: M Veal’s PHILOMA HOUDINI. A smart young man. Put together very well with all the correct angles and bone structure, very good neckline and shoulder placement, good forechest and straight legs, ample body of depth with a good spring of rib leading to a short loin, strong hindquarters with good angulation, moved effortlessly around the ring.

1st: Houchin Mr M, Mrs J & Miss H O. CH PHILOMA SIMON TEMPLAR AT BARNSDALE. Impressive, well-boned dog of good structure, excelling in head length, with a lovely dark eye and a super neckline flowing into well-laid shoulders. His forelegs are straight with ample bone, and he has good depth of chest with a visible forechest. His ribs are well sprung, and he possesses a strong back with a short loin. He has a harsh coat. His correct tail set requires no holding or propping, adding to his overall profile. His hindquarters are well muscled, with the required well-defined stifle angulation and vertical hocks, all contributing to a confident and powerful mover, giving the impression that he could go on for ever. 2nd: Lowood Price Mrs A, Lowood Price Ms A, Price Mr A. ADREANA JAGERMEISTER Another handsome masculine male, with all the qualities and attributes of the winner, a super head of good length and parallel planes with a keen expression, a lovely neckline and well laid shoulders, good forequarters, ample chest and strong hindquarters moved very well. Res Dog CC.

3rd: Descere & Desceras & Pearce Dr E & Mr K & Mrs S. CH STABLEMASTER’S TWIST (IMP FIN).

1st: Ellis Miss O & Miss J. PHILOMA GALWAY GIRL such a lovely young puppy, square in outline and she has good shoulders, a moderate chest and depth of body but has time to fill out a bit more as only 6 months. Good coat texture. Moved well for one so young with reach and drive.

1st: Staples and Killingback Mrs G and Mrs S. FIGOSKY WAKE ME UP AT NOVAVITEX. Pretty feminine Black and Silver who has a lovely head of good length, dark eyes sweet expression, decent neckline with good depth of chest, suitable angulation front and rear and she moved well for her owner.

2nd : Velhino & Donley Mr J & Mr G. ECHODREAM ALICE. A feminine female with a head of good length, nice neckline, not quite so square as 1st place and at times was a little over stretched but she has decent angulation and moved well

1st: George and Reeves Mrs J T & Mrs V. ADREANA TRIBUTE TO DASVAL A very attractive female with a super head and parallel planes. Arched neckline into well laid shoulders good forechest and depth of body reaching to her tight elbows nice tuck up to the loins, she has good angulation both front and rear, her profile view showed she can carry her topline correctly and when settled on the move she glides effortlessly around the ring. Res Bitch CC  

2nd: Clayton Mrs J and Miss J. DREAMCATCHER DE BARBA AT NORTHDRUM (IMP FCA). A very square female of good proportions good shoulder placement, level topline standing and on the move well angulated front and rear, nice thighs with vertical hocks. 

OPEN BITCH (4) 1 ABS

1st: Griffin Ms PR. CH PHILOMA WHEN HARRY MET REMY. Female of very good proportions, with a good oblong head, dark eyes and a feminine expression. Lovely slightly arched neckline flowing into well-laid shoulders, with balanced forequarters. She possesses a decent ribcage and good depth of body, with a moderate tuck-up and short loin. Balanced rear angulation giving her good reach and drive on the move. Bitch CC.

2nd: Lowood Price & Lowood Price & Price, Mrs A. ADREANA FOREVER GOLDEN. Lovely head and expression very good parallel planes, strong neckline into well laid shoulders decent depth of chest to the elbow and ample ribcage, suitably angulated rear quarters, moved well in profile.

3rd: Ellis Miss O & Miss J. CH PHILOMA WICKED JW.
