What a privilege to be able to get hands on and see your wonderful dogs up close. The standard was high from the stunning youngsters to the incredibly glorious veterans. I was delighted to see so many happy fit dogs. What a fine example of our breed, you should all be winners but remember you do take the best dog home. Spanish Water Dog - Junior Dog Entries: 2    Absentees: 0 1ST  5926 - Lendever's Man among Men (Mrs R Capille) Robust, typy male, brown & white medium length curly coat, correct head, open nostrils, gorgeous dark expressive eye, attentive, stands well over front, well developing chest for youngster, tight elbows, short pasterns, briskly driven with agile movement, well presented, liked this boy a lot. 2ND 5955 - As Good As It Gets Wavelet with Sinduda (Mrs J Wood) Another typy excellent junior male with correct head, soft expressive oval shape dark eye, flat scull, set on short strong neck, standing true over front. Correct 50-50 depth of chest to leg length, longer in body than first, short pasterns producing pace, driving well from rear maintaining top line. Superbly presented. 2130. Spanish Water Dog - Graduate Dog Entries: 1    Absentees: 0 1ST   5927 - Lendever's Quite Something (Mrs R Capille) Lovely solid brown boy in shorter curled coat, 13 months old, watchful dark eye, good head, short neck, correct in proportion, tail set and angulations. Level top line, moved with drive, a very likeable, understated, workmanlike boy, still developing depth of chest, could so easily be overlooked- definitely one to watch as he develops. 2131. Spanish Water Dog - Post Graduate Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1ST  5936 - Cooishka Wake Up Boo (Mrs C & Ms K Glaysher & Thompson) This lovely 2 year old boy beautifully presented by his handler, oozed breed type, a very correct dog, he was brown throughout from distinctive curls to pigmentation - noticeable well muscled inner and outer thighs, well let down hocks, flexible pasterns front and rear ensured this active boy moved briskly maintaining balance throughout. Just dropped top-line on free stand. Worthy of his placing. 2ND 5951 - Perrorizado San Andres for Salvajero (Mrs A C Slaymaker) Maturing Black 3 year old shown in correct curly coat with striking white chest markings, taller than the standard, nevertheless presenting a lovely male head with dark pigment, dark eye, correct ear set, level bite, parallel planes and depth of scull. Strong short neck. Liked his length of rib and moderate slope to croup. Correct tail insertion. Rather unsettled and unbalanced on the move today. 2132. Spanish Water Dog - Limit Dog Entries: 5    Absentees: 0 1ST  5956 - Chanderhill Eagle Eye Sinduda (Mrs J Wood) I judged this masculine 5 year old boy before and liked him, but never placed him. Today he entered the ring to win. Presented in immaculate condition from his brown rustic coat to his excellent muscle tone. He oozed breed type both in function and form with his handler getting the very best out of him. Expressive, watchful dark eye, correct scissor bite, wide nostrils, deep chest, level top line, moderate tuck, parallel for and aft, moved out with drive, moderate throughout. Outstanding, delighted to award DCC and BOB- though not short listed in the Group his performance did not disappoint. 2ND 5937 - Rainethyme Rerite The Rules for Chanderhill JW (Dr K & Mr M Hodgkinson-Rutherford & Rutherford) A striking showy confident 2 year old brown and white dog presented in great show condition, medium length curled coat, well muscled throughout, robust with enough bone, sufficient depth of chest for age, moderate front angulations, masculine head, dark eye, correct bite, short neck, tight elbows, short pasterns front and rear, l liked his overall breed type, moved out well in the class, presenting a true to type outline. Could strengthen core as he can drop topline standing. Improved in the Dog Challenge despite being chased hard for RDCC Handled well. 2133. Spanish Water Dog - Open Dog Entries: 2    Absentees: 0 1ST  5939 - Zorrazo Cool As A Cucumber (Dr K & Mr M Hodgkinson-Rutherford & Rutherford) Mature male almost 7 years old Robust brown workmanlike dog, presented in shorter coat today but with enough curl. Pleasing expression and attentive to handler. Moderate with balanced proportions throughout, standing well over parallel front, sporting parallel short flexible pasterns at the rear with well muscled thighs, producing brisk drive and good pace on the move. Slightly longer in body than standard, but a typy dog with much to like. 2ND 5941 - Delimore Varpu at Aguamarina (Imp Fin) (Mrs R & Mr A Kehoe)Another lovely typical 4 year old solid brown boy presented in short coat, has matured nicely since the last time I judged him. Although a little unsettled today, his quality showed when moved displaying the typical brisk drive, carrying a level top-line throughout. He has a soft expression, good brown pigment, a well balanced head, scissor bite, I really liked his moderate angulations,nothing exaggerated, presenting a very pleasing profile of a balanced rustic dog typical of his breed standard. 2134. Spanish Water Dog - Veteran Dog Entries: 2    Absentees: 1 1ST 5935 - Zorrazo Alter Bridge at Prizelands (Imp Hrv) (F Donaldson) This 7 + year old sported a fabulous mature classically diluted brown and white coat of cords creating the correct out line moving around the ring. Correct head shape, mouth just showing age, kind expression, short neck set into correct front assembly, slightly long in loin, good tail carriage, let down hocks, held a firm top line, in tune with handler, all contributed to his overall charm. 2135. Spanish Water Dog - Puppy Bitch Entries: 2    Absentees: 0 1ST 5928 Lendever's Time to Shine (Mrs R Capille) This sassy, white and black 10 month old puppy oozed type and character in bucket loads. From her correct head, mouth, appealing dark oval eye, dark pigment, cheeky expression, to her short neck set onto correct lay of shoulder, parallel front and rear, having correct proportions throughout, level top line and slight tuck, flexible pasterns, despite this it was her attitude that set her apart. Making her handler work hard to restrain her exuberance, moving briskly with pace and drive. I hope this showy girl will go from great to greater. Very happy to award her the BCC today. 2ND  5943 - Deltoroesta Lady of The Lake (Miss R & Mr S Page & Robinson) A lovely Brown and White 8 mth old pup with so much to like about her. Super feminine head of correct proportion, dark watchful eye and good pigment, scissor bite, wide nostrils. Correct body outline, size and shape in profile. Moves out well, a little close behind, but moves with pace, excellent topline, a lovely pup with a good temperament. Another quality puppy to watch mature. 2136. Spanish Water Dog - Junior Bitch Entries: 1    Absentees: 0 1ST 5947 - Sierrasalvas Midnight Lady (Mr M & Mrs S Salvatierra) Beautiful bitch, excellent quality coat, black with white markings, this youngster 14 mths old - a little shy at first but soon found her confidence- I really liked her overall size and shape, very true to type, correct head, parallel planes, watchful oval shaped eye, keen expression, scissor bite, Short strong neck, standing parallel over front, chest sufficient for age, balanced proportions and moderate all round, very well muscled, slightly close when moving away, correct reach, agile on the move presenting super profile going round. Very smart dog with lots to offer, definitely another to watch just missing top spot today delighted to award her RBCC 2137. Spanish Water Dog - Graduate Bitch Entries: 2    Absentees: 1 1ST  5940 - Rainethyme Remember Me (Mrs Sj & Mr M & Mrs C Jarvis & Jarvis & Palumbo) Shown today with short brown and white curly coat this 22 month old was rather unsettled in the ring. She had a really lovely feminine head with correct proportions, scissor bite, open nostrils and soft expression. She settled on the move and showed herself more confidently. I liked her top line and general appearance, tail set, strong pasterns, slightly longer in leg than depth of body, could improve with age. Just a little overwhelmed today. 2138. Spanish Water Dog - Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 2    Absentees: 0 1ST  5946 - Rainethyme River Dancer (Mrs C J Palumbo) Litter sister to Graduate Bitch, another lovely brown and white youngster from this kennel expertly handled to bring out her attributes. Correct feminine head, scissor bite, appealing oval shaped eye, kind expression, short neck, slight rise at withers, correct length to height ratio, with slightly rounded croup, perfect tail insertion. Parallel hocks. Maintained top-line on the move. So much to like about her, will see more of her in the future. 2ND  5931 - Perrorizado Isla Zuaza (Mrs R & Mr P Clough) presented today with shorter length curled coat this black 3 year old was a little nervous in the ring - I liked her feminine head, flat parallel planes, lovely dark expressive eye, black pigment, open nostrils. Standing parallel front and rear, slightly raised at withers, good top- line when stacked, correct slope to croup, lovely tail insertion and carriage, tending to be close behind when moving away, more confidence would improve her ring presence. 2139. Spanish Water Dog - Limit Bitch Entries: 4    Absentees: 1 1ST  5932 - Prizelands Frosted Fancy (F Donaldson) Beautifully presented typy, white 4 year old, sporting a medium length curled coat in immaculate condition. Liked her feminine head and attractive black pigment, dark eye, correct ear set, short neck into good front assembly, enough chest, with correct 50/50 leg to body ratio and good top line. Would like a more moderate slope to croup, moves out and back well, a little close behind, good muscle tone, moderate drive. Typical in profile going round, lots to like about this dog. 2ND  5942 - Valentina De Canagua at Aguamarina (Imp Esp) (Mrs R & Mr A Kehoe) 2 year old brown girl of outstanding temperament clearly enjoying her moment in the ring. Overall a solid workmanlike bitch with plenty to like. Good head, alert dark expressive eye, wide open nostrils , parallel planes to scull, enough chest, correct underline, well muscled thighs and tail definitely raised when alert. . Mostly keeping topline throughout, I would have liked to see more length of upper arm to improve profile, moved briskly in tune with handler. 2140. Spanish Water Dog - Open Bitch Entries: 4    Absentees: 2 1ST   5929 - Lendever's You Snooze You Lose Ftaw (Mrs R Capille) mature 3 year old brown bitch of superb quality in hard muscular working condition shown in short coat. Feminine head, 3/2 flat scull, slight stop, watchful expression, strong neck, standing parallel over front, flexible pasterns, tight feet. Level top line maintained throughout, well defined upper thighs, moderate bend of stifle, short straight pasterns, correct underline, with slight tuck. Brisk agile and driving movement from this honest working girl. 2ND 5934 - Prizelands Tickled My Fancy JW (F Donaldson) another presented in super show condition, matured since I last judged her as a puppy, now 3 she presents a typical outline. Loved her feminine head, dark eye, scissor bite, short neck, level top-line, parallel front, correct length of loin, slightly curved croup, good tail set, correct underline, not too much tuck, moderate all round proportions. Remained balanced throughout. Slightly close moving away, I just preferred the drive of 1 today. 2141. Spanish Water Dog - Veteran Bitch Entries: 4    Absentees: 0 1ST   5948 - Sierrasalva's Regalo (Mr M & Mrs S Salvatierra) Where to start ! I absolutely loved this beautiful 8 + year old - presenting such a fine example of the breed, handled to perfection, brisk on the move aided by her muscular condition - shown in medium length corded brown coat of correct texture, super feminine head, dark pigment, super alert expression, short neck, correct length of body to height, straight front, held top-line throughout, moderate rear angulations. Full of character, oozing breed type. Very pleased to award her BV 2ND  5945 - Sh Ch Rainethyme Memory Keeper JW (Mrs C J Palumbo) Again I loved this 8 year old shown in excellent condition another lovely girl with undeniably typical breed outline. Shown in a shorter coat of brown and white curls, lovely balance to head, with that alert watchful expression from oval brown eyes with correct ear set. Short neck, correct length of body/ leg ratio, good muscle tone and strong thighs. Moderate bend of stifle leading to short, strong, let down hocks, producing a well balanced dog moving with characteristic briskness and drive. Pat Booth Maravilla
