My sincere thanks to the Society for the invitation and to my two stewards Nicki & Ann who kept the ring flowing. I was truly humbled by the fabulous entry on a breed that is very close to my heart, thank you to the exhibitors. Since I last judged Pointers at this level it would appear that there is a tendency for steep croups which spoils the gentle sloping topline which is desired for this breed. On a positive note I found many quality exhibits across the colours, some that just gave me goose bumps!

B/W with masculine, well balanced head. He has a well made front and correct in body. He is still filling his frame, needs to tighten all over and focus on the job in hand but I could see his sound movement when settled.

O/W boy with masculine head and correct in body, he moved sound, just preferred the reach and drive of 1.

Loved this promising young O/W lad for his size, make and shape, his appealing head is so balanced. He has a well constructed front assembly with lots of depth for his age, well ribbed back to short loin. He has strong, well angulated hind quarters, moving sound with good reach and drive.

B/W with the most appealing head of good proportions, he flowed on handling. He has a strong front with great depth for a youngster, found him striking on the stack and didn’t disappoint on the move. BPD

3rd in previous class, appeared to get his act together in this class. A raw pup that needs time, he is of good type with everything in the right place. He has time on his side.

An up to size L/W with good breed type and balance, still filling his frame. He has a masculine head and is well made in front with lots of depth. He moves sound with a long stride covering the ground with ease. A bit of a handful for his handler but held it together.

He has strong quarters with good width over the rear, stylish mover with reach and drive and impressive side gait.

B/W that excels in layback of shoulder and front assembly, spot on for body condition and muscle tone. He has a super head of correct proportions and intelligence in expression. He has maturity of body with depth in abundance, well ribbed back to strong short loin. On the move he comes alive with typical Pointer movement, sound as a pound on the up and back and like a well oiled machine in side gait showing power and efficiency. I was delighted to award him the CC & BOB and to learn that this win gave him the breed record. Watched him put in a stellar performance in the group to take G2. Congratulations!

What a difference 3 years makes! One that I judged as a youngster, now the mature finished article and one that needs to be handled to be appreciated, a mature O/W that was in top form here. There is a lot to like about him with appealing head and kind expression, strong in front with lots of depth and substance. Sound on the move.

This very pretty O/W girl is full of promise, filled my eye for her breed type and balance, she has a feminine head with good pigmentation. I found her delightful to handle and she flowed. On the move she is sound and well coordinated for one so young.

A quality B/W with a lot to like, another with beautiful breed type and balance. She handles well, just needs to tighten in front a little.
