Critiques for Working and Pastoral Breeds of Wales.

Thanks to the committee for the invite to judge this prestigious show. The quantity was low but the quality was very high throughout. Thank you to the exhibitors for your entries, making it a lovely day for me, congratulations to you all.

BLANIK IVANA Shcm

(Conbhairean Danko of Blanik x Blanik Hippy)

12 years old top size, black and gold, well pigmented female. She was in lovely condition and doesn't look anywhere near her years. 

She has a feminine head with slightly wide set ears, good reach of neck , high wither, straight back into a croup that is of correct angle and length. 

She has excellent proportions a very good front assembly with excellent hind quarters. She even at this age is absolutely sound coming and going, with far reaching movement and very good hind drive.

Id have loved to have seen her in her younger days.

8 years old longcoat female, paling black and gold. Feminine head with a lovely expression and correct ear carriage. 

Being picky id like a darker mask.

She has a good reach of neck , normal wither and a level back into a croup that is slightly steep but is of perfect length.

She has very good front assembly, stretched in proportions with good hindquarters.

She is absolutly sound both ways.

Front pasterns could be firmer. She showed very good forward reach on the move, but she could drive more from the rear.

6 months old black and gold. He has a good head with masculine expression. His left ear needs to firm but hes just a baby so plenty of time  

He has a normal wither, correct straight back into a croup which could be longer and better angled. His tail slightly hooks to the left. 

He has a very good front assembly, excellent proportions and moderate hind angles where he needs a little more turn of stifle. He is absolutely correct both coming and going. When he settled he showed good movement but could power a bit more from the rear and be a little more free in the forward reach. A little more schooling needed but he is very young. A promising puppy

LORNSTONE SIJUR

25 months Topsize male, very well pigmented. 

Masculine head with dark mask and dark eyes. He has a good reach of neck, high wither, good topline into a croup that is long and correctly angled. He has a slight raise in the back that detracts, but otherwise a clean topline which he holds on the move. Id prefer a bit more coat. His front assembly is very good with a long upper arm and correctly placed shoulder. His height to length proportions are excellent and he has very good hindquarters. He is sound coming and going with absolte straight rear pasterns. His movement is powerful with a far reaching gait. Sadly he didnt use his ears at all in the movement or stand phase today, so it was so hard to assess them so they appeared weak on the move as they were folded back at all times. Something to work on for the future A very nice male.

5 Years old, very well pigmented male. He is medium size shown in super condition with a glamorous coat.

He is strong and substantial with a masculine head, dark eye and correct ear carriage. Excellent overline, normal wither, correct straight back into a croup that is long but slightly steep. He is absolutely correct in the front, he is well proportioned and has excellent hind angles. He is totally sound going away with straight strong rear pasterns and correct coming with firm elbows. He did appear a little deep in the chest but hands on showed me he isnt.

His movement was spacious and strong, with excellent forward reach and powerful hind drive. A super male!

CHARBONNAL RUMA

11.5 months old, very well pigmented female with a glamorous jacket. Very pretty feminine head and expression with good ear carriage. Good reach of neck, normal wither, correct straight back into a croup of good length and lay. She has a long upper arm which is correctly angled. Very good height to length proportions with excellent hind quarters. Excellent bone, lovely tight feet with correctly angled front pasterns. She is sound away and correct coming . Her movement is good with strong rear drive but the forward reach could be a little freer. She holds her beautiful topline at all speeds. She is the daughter of my best of breed winner and is very much his type. A beautiful puppy whom I will follow with interest

CHICA GUAPA OF BLANIK

3 years old upper medium size well pigmented long coat. She has a feminine pretty head, lovely expression, well set ears, but she could do with a little more stop. Good reach of neck , normal wither, straight back into croup that is of good length but slightly steep. She has a good front assembly, where the upper arm could be slightly better angled, excellent proportions and excellent hindquarters. She is sound away and towards. She showed a powerful gait with good drive, but she had a tendency to fall on the fore hand at times today. A very spirited girl and a nice female.

BLANIK MEERAH

(Ch Blaven vom Wanakon x Blanik Liszka)

21 months, well pigmented Sable female.

She is above topsize, very firm and dry of lovely type. Being picky id prefer a little more coat. Her head is strong but feminine with well set ears and dark eyes.

Very good reach of neck, high withers, correct straight back with a croup of good length and lay but the tailset could be cleaner, she has a tendency to 'root' it on the move. Her front assembly is very good with a well laid back shoulder and the upper arm is long and well angled. Her proportions are excellent as are her hindquarters. She is correct coming but toes in going away.

She has excellent movement with plenty of reach and drive and when settled holds her wither and overline beautifully on the move.

Sadly today her performance wasnt the best and id love to see her in a big ring where I think she will show herself better.
