Samantha Burr Memorial Special Award Classes – 3 May 2026

Thank you very much to the GBBA for the kind invitation to judge the SAC at your championship show and for your hospitality at a well organised show, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

An enormous thank you also to the exhibitors for their trust and support in entering 22 dogs under me and graciously accepting my decisions, some of which were extremely trickly. All dogs were well presented and impeccability behaved, even those at their very first show! A thank you also to my efficient Steward Julia for keeping things in order and being my photographer!

Post Graduate Dog / Bitch (14)

This large mixed class with ages from 6 months to 13 years and good mix of colours and coats really got me thinking!!

1 Wood, Miss L’s Delightbull Come On Eileen, 2-year-old Red Rough Bitch. Very feminine petite young lady that stood out in this class due to her beautiful very cobby outline and drive. Proportionately large head with big dark eyes correctly placed and good open nostrils creating a lovely soft expression.

I liked her neck, well laid-back shoulders and short back with a great top line with tail nicely carried and adequate bone. Lovely small feet and correct rear angulation.

Relaxed gentle girl, moved well with good reach and drive.

2 Conway, Mrs J’s Stormjac Shrek Wears Black, 2-year-old Black rough Dog. Another lovely exhibit – this handsome boy of slightly larger type than 1 has a lovely head, beautiful dark eye and endearing expression and lovely lips.

Another good square dog with nice fore chest and front facing feet with a super top line when stood and on the move, both coming and going, high set tail, good bone and very nice angulation

1 had the edge on attitude and drive on the day.

1 Selby, Allen & Whiteheads, Zilcan Captain Caveman Class Red Rough just out of puppy at 13 months but looking quite mature for his age. Good square boy with nice head, good eye and nose placement leading to a nice neck and very nice coat and good angulation, bone and movement. Nice top line on the move. This young boy still needs to develop and I will watch with interest how he progresses.

2 Price, Mrs F’s Serperior For Marquant Semper Hilaris (Imp POL) 2-year-old Red Smooth with lovely face and mask delivering a great expression. Very nice ears and super large round eyes but nose pad could be darker. From a larger mould than 1 and not as square but good muscle and width of chest, moved well and presented in superb coat.

3 Carpenter, Miss J’s Beauborne Ray Ban at Xyliabud

1 Wood, Miss L’s Delightbull Lady in Red JW, 2year old Red Rough who I have judged before, and I understand is now a Champion – Congratulations! Super square girl creating a lovely outline and in super coat. Nice large correct head with good dark round eye, open nostrils, good width of jaw with nice lips. Lovely neck, correct shoulders, short loin and great top line held on the move with good rear angulation. Good bone and super small feet.

A very smart girl moving very well with great drive.

2 Conway, Mrs J’s Stormjac Princess Fiona 2-year-old Black Rough in a super clear black jacket. Another lovely girl, so pretty with lovely large feminine head and dark round eyes, well positioned open nostrils, good ear placement and a beautiful endearing expression. Great width and depth of chest with a top line perfectly held. High set tail and great rear angulation. Very nice front facing feet and good bone.

Pushed 1 hard but I felt 1 just had the edge on movement
