Thank you to the Brittany Club for your kind invitation to judge the 33rd Breed Championship show. I was delighted with my quality entry and enjoyed judging all your lovely dogs. Thank you to my steward Harry and for keeping everything running smoothly. Also thank you for the lovely bag and the bag of goodies.
Class 1: Baby Puppy Dog/Bitch (5)
Lovely class of promising puppies.
1st Miss S Ryan. RISCORIS TRUFFADE AVEC PETILLANT, Very promising orange and white male. Head of correct proportions for age and lovely expressive eyes in colour with his coat. Correct body shape with the topline held correctly on the move. For his age the movement was sound with the correct gait. BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW.
2nd Mrs R Sampson. RISCORIS NOISETTE, Litter sister to 1 and again very promising black and white. Very pretty head and correct proportions for age. Neat ears which were the correct triangular shape. Body shape square and correct for age. Movement typical for a baby puppy.
3rd Mr C & Mrs S Eustice. RISCORIS DUCHESSE.

1st Mr C & Mrs S Eustice. PATOUCHE VAGNER, Orange and White I liked his outline with workmanlike appearance. The head was correctly slightly rounded with the topline of skull and muzzle parallel. Stop is correct. Nostrils open and well shaped. Lovely expression. Shoulders muscular and moderately sloping with correct angulation. Excellent spring of the rib and excellent body condition with the correct sound movement with neat feet.
2nd Mr AG & Mr DOJ Bruce. PATOUCHE UTRILLO. Orange and White I liked his expression and ear carriage. He had good shoulder angulation and tops of shoulder blades correctly set wide. Deep chest. Body length slightly longer than 1. Also sadly he would not settle on the move. His outline was workmanlike and substance without heaviness.
Class 6: Graduate Dog (2)
1st Mr S Wright. BOISDARGENT UTAH AT HAWKWISE TAF, Orange and white with Workmanlike appearance with square and cobby appearance. Head of correct proportion and expressive. Chest deep. Shoulders well muscled with ribcage deep. Topline correct and held topline on the move. Moderate bend of stifle. Rear pasterns vertical to ground which is correct for the breed. Correct brisk short stride. Shown in lovely muscular condition.
2nd Mr M Samardzija & Mrs M & Miss S Ryan. PATOUCHE AMARETTO, I liked the expression on this young male and just out of puppy so has lots of time to mature. Head proportions correct with eyes expressive and correct colour in harmony with his orange and white coat colour. Neck medium length and well set into shoulders. Correct spring of rib for age and hindquarters correct angulation. Movement brisk with correct short stride. Very promising young male who I am sure has a bright future ahead.

1st Mrs TJ Adams. PATOUCHE TARTUFFE, Very smart workmanlike male. Substance without heaviness and square and cobby appearance. Head of correct proportions. Excellent front and correct length of leg. Correct body proportions and the height at withers equals length of body. Hindquarters well muscled. Neat feet with correct hair between the toes. When he settled he had the correct movement. Shown in lovely condition.

Class 9: Open Dog (3)
1st Mr M Kenneally & Ms M Jones & Mr M Kenneally. IR SH/INT CH MINAMA UPSIDEDOWN BOB (ATC BA81688IKC), This lovely orange and white male is so close to the breed standard. Workmanlike, substance without heaviness and moderately well boned. Head of correct proportions with the nostrils open and well shaped. Eyes were correct, oval in shape and expressive. Ears triangular and set and carried high. Neck medium length and well set into shoulders. The shoulders were muscular with correct angulation. Ribcage well-rounded. Moderate bend of stifle. Movement was so sound with a brisk short stride and retaining topline on the move. Correct coat dense but fairly fine which is correct for the breed. It was a pleasure to award him the CC and BEST IN SHOW.
2nd Miss J & Mr G & Mrs M Nicholls. SH.CH MINAMA UNFORGETTABLE AT STONESVIEW (IKC), Another lovely quality dog and is the litter brother to the winner. He was just slightly longer in body than one. Again he was close to the breed standard and had excellent expression and high set ears of correct shape. Excellent shoulder angulation and depth of chest. Elbows close to the body. The forelegs were muscular, vertical and straight. Correct topline and moderate bend of stifle. Thighs broad and muscular. Movement was brisk and short striding. Shown in lovely condition.

Class 10: Special open orange/white Dog (3)
A lovely class of 3 quality worthy Show Champions.
1st Mrs L Graham & Mrs J Yarrow. SH.CH. BONAPARTIST PICKPOCKET, This orange and white male again is so close to the breed standard. Workmanlike appearance, square and cobby, moderately well boned and head of correct proportions with high set ears which were triangular in shape and set high. Lovely expressive eyes and in harmony with coat colour. Jaw strong with a perfect scissor bite. Chest deep and rib cage well rounded. Excellent square outline with thighs broad and muscular. Rear pasterns vertical to ground. Movement brisk and topline correct when moving. He was shown in excellent muscular condition and so well presented. RCC. It was a pleasure to award him RESERVE BEST IN SHOW.
2nd Mrs J Robinson. SH.CH TARWARD OUR JOE, Another lovely male again so close to the breed standard. Workmanlike with a lively intelligent expression. Head was of correct proportion and the stop moderate and muzzle tapered but not snipy. Nostrils open and well shaped. Eyes expressive and correct oval in shape and slightly obliquely set which is correct for the breed. Excellent shoulders which were muscular and moderate sloping angulation. Shoulder blades set fairly wide which is correct for the breed. Excellent ribcage. Held topline on the move with the correct brisk short stride. Feet correct shape and with little hair between the toes. Shown in excellent muscletone. He was handled to perfection.
3rd Mrs KM Williams & Mrs A Drozdova. SH.CH/CZE/BEL.CH BONAPARTIST PEAKY BLINDER AVEC AUKSKARA SHCEX.
Class 11: Special open any other colour except orange/white dog. (3)
1st Miss S Axtell. UMBERTO DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU FOR CALLMILLARD (IMP FRA), Black and white roan with expressive head. Lovely dark eye in harmony with his coat colour and oval in shape. Lovely triangular ears with slightly rounded at tip which were set and carried high. Neck medium length with chest deep. Ribage well rounded. Loin short and strong. Moderate bend of stifle. Rear pasterns vertical to ground. Movement brisk and short striding. Sound movement.
2nd. Mr K Taylor & Mrs C Gill. RENNES DE PASMAZGENG. I liked this tri-colour and unlucky to meet the winner on such good form. Head of correct proportions with excellent expression and eye colour in harmony with coat colour. Rib-cage correct and just slightly longer in body than 1. Hindquarters well muscled. Thighs broad and muscular. Movement brisk and short-striding. Again sound on the move and excellent muscletone.
Class 12: Special Tailed Dog (1)
1st. Mr M Jones & Mrs H Jones. ROCHUS TAKE ACTION. I liked the square cobby appearance on this smart black and white dog. Eyes were expressive and dark in harmony with his coat colour. Short body with well sprung ribs. Loin correctly proportioned and short. Correct moderate bend of stifle. Movement brisk and short striding. Full tail and carried correctly. Shown in lovely condition.
Class 13: Veteran Dog (2)
1st. Miss F Cook. SH.CH. HIGHCLARE ONLY ONE AVEC TALLISIDE (AI) JW. HIs outline was workmanlike with square and cobby appearance. He had that lively intelligent expression. Very expressive eyes in harmony with coat colour. Correct triangular ears with rounded tip and carried high. Another lovely male of type so close to the breed standard. The movement was brisk short-striding and very sound. It was a pleasure to award him BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
2nd.Mrs J Robinson. SH.CH. TARWARD OUR JOE. Both these veterans were a credit to their owners.

1st Mrs KM Williams & Mrs A Drozdova. . TOURNESOL BERNADETTE AVEC AUKSKARA. Very smart orange and white puppy with excellent square body. Her head was correct proportions for age and very expressive. Eyes correct shape and colour in harmony with coat colour. Ribcage well developed for age and lovely short loin. Movement was brisk and short striding. I am sure she will have a lovely bright future ahead. BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.
2nd. Mrs K Southorn. BERYLLIUM DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU (IMP FRA). Lovely feminine head of correct proportions for age. Chest deep with elbows close to the body. Spring of rib is correct for age. Just needs to settle on her movement but this will come with time. Another promising puppy.
3rd. Miss R Holt. TOURNESOL BLANCHE

1st. Mr EC Hawkins & Mrs LJ Fletcher-Hawkins. ROCHUS ANGELIQUE. Orange and white. I liked her type. It was her first time in the show ring and probably would have enjoyed being outside. Lovely expressive head and ear carriage correct. Square outline. Topline correct when standing. Full tailed and carried correctly. Movement was hard to assess as she was so full of herself. She is lovely and please keep going to ringcraft with her.
Class 19: Graduate Bitch (0)
Class 20: Post Graduate Bitch (2)
1st. Mrs C & Mr R Perks. ROCHUS SEA HOLLY. Both litter sisters. Black and white with lovely expressive head and ear carriage correct with eye colour dark in harmony with coat colour. Neck medium length and shoulder angulation correct. Correct spring of rib. Loin short. Stifles had a moderate bend and had very smart correct brisk movement. Full tail which was carried correctly. Shown in lovely muscular condition.
2nd.Mr M & Mrs H Jones. ROCHUS SWEET PEA. Litter sister to 1 and another black and white of lovely type. She just lost out to one as she was not as lively in expression as one. Her eyes are correct and in harmony with the coat colour. Ear carriage was slightly down and did not use them to her advantage. Slightly heavier over the shoulders than one. Well sprung ribs and loin short. Hindquarters correct angulation. Full tail and carried correctly. Another who I think would have preferred to be outdoors.
Class 21: Limit Bitch (3)
1st. Mr J Anderson & Mrs BA Anderson. ROCHUS ALIZEE A lovely young black and white of excellent type. Her head was expressive with correct ear-shape and carried high. Shoulder angulation correct with neck medium length and it was clean and well set into shoulders. Ribcage is good for age with loin short and correct muscle tone. Bend of stifle moderate. Rear pasterns vertical to ground and correct. Movement brisk and short-striding. I am sure she will have a bright future. Just needs time to mature.
2nd. Miss R Holt. ROCHUS STARBURST. Orange and white with workmanlike square appearance. Lost out to 1 as her head was not as expressive as the winner. Correct shoulder angulation. Chest deep with good spring of rib. Topline correct and held on the move. Hindquarters moderate angulation with hocks correct. Feet round and tight and compact with the correct hair between the toes. Her movement was sound but not as brisk as the winner.
3rd Mrs K Southorn. UMIKA DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU (IMP FRA).
Class 22: Open Bitch (5)
This was a lovely quality class and all worthy SH.CH.’s.
1st. Miss SD Axtell. INT.SH.CH. SPRITE DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU (IMP FRA). I liked the size and workmanlike appearance of this lovely black and white. Another who is very close to the breed standard. Her eyes were expressive with head of correct proportions. Stop was moderate with muzzle tapered. Nostrils were open and well shaped. Square and cobby appearance. Shoulders well muscled and rib cage correct. Top line correct. Moderate bend of stifle. Thighs broad and strong. Correct brisk short-stride. Sound movement and her hind legs had the correct little rear extension. It was a pleasure to award her the CC. Afterwards I learned that this was her 3rd CC. Congratulations.
2nd. Mr PA Yarrow & Mrs JA Yarrow. SH.CH.MINAMA USHER OF BONAPARTIST (IKC). Another lovely correct example of the breed and just lost out to the winner as I felt she was just carrying too much weight over the shoulders which made her look heavy. I liked her type and typical head close to the breed standard. Lovely expressive eyes and colour in harmony with the coat. Neck medium length. Elbows close to the body. Forelegs were muscular, vertical and straight. Pasterns correctly sloping. The hindquarters had correct moderate bend of stifle. Movement was brisk and short striding.
3rd. Mrs S Gudgin & Ms S Finch. BEL.CH. JASSENDUE USOA JW.
Class 23: Special open orange/white Bitch. (1)
1st. Mr PA Yarrow & Mrs JA Yarrow. SH.CH. BONAPARTIST TRUFFLE. A lovely quality Brittany who unfortunately was carrying too much weight. Square and cobby appearance. Head of correct proportions with a gentle and affectionate look. Correct shape ears. Neck medium length. Chest deep and rib cage well rounded. Loin short. Stifle correct moderate bend. When settled her movement was brisk and short striding.
Class 24: Special open any other colour except orange/white Bitch. (2)
1st. Mr PA Yarrow & Mrs JA Yarrow. SH.CH.PESH DI VAL GROSSA OF BONAPARTIST (IMP ITA). Quality black and white roan with square workmanlike appearance. Correct eye shape oval and colour dark in harmony with coat colour. Deep chest and shoulder correct angulation. Ribcage well rounded with short loin. Stifle correct moderate bend. Topline held correctly on the move. Correct brisk short stride and correct hind movement with little rear extension. The body coat was correct dense and fairy fine.
2nd. Mrs P Rush. PATOUCHE PISTACHE. A lovely quality example of the breed and very close to the breed standard. I think she would have preferred to be outside. Her head is of correct proportions and feminine but unfortunately she would not use her ears to advantage. I am sure outside would have been different. Lovely workmanlike cobby appearance with correct shoulder angulation. Chest deep. Brisket reaching to elbow. Foreleg length is correct. Rib cage well rounded. Back was short with a strong and short loin. Excellent condition and well muscled. Just wished she would have shown herself to advantage.
Class 25: Special Tailed Bitch. (2)
1st. Mr J Anderson & Mrs BA Anderson. ROCHUS UNIQUE ELSA. Orange and white roan of lovely type and workmanlike appearance. Head of correct proportions with a lovely expression. Her eyes are in harmony with coat colour and correct oval in shape and slightly obliquely set which is correct for the breed. Neck medium length with correct shoulder angulation. Deep chest. Rib cage well rounded. Topline held correctly on the move. Movement was brisk and short-striding with correctly held tail carriage.
2nd. Mr M & Mrs H Jones. ROCHUS SWEET PEA.
Class 26: Veteran Bitch. (4)
A lovely quality class of veterans.
1st. Mrs K Southorn. ROCHUS NELKE. I liked this tri-colour for her workmanlike shape and size. A lovely head of correct proportions and she was a perfectly marked tri-colour with all the tan markings in the correct places. Eyes expressive and in harmony with coat colour. Neck medium length. Correct shoulder angulation. Rib-cage well rounded. Loin short and moderate bend of stifle. Movement brisk and short-striding. Well muscled condition.
2nd. Miss A Anderson. DENANDMEG PURE BEAUTY. Another quality black and white roan so full of breed type. Expression was good with eyes in harmony with coat colour. Ears set high and correct triangular shape. Neck medium length and well set into shoulders. Body short and correct proportions. Loin short. Movement brisk and short-striding. Shown in lovely muscular condition.
3rd. Mr PA Yarrow & Mrs JA Yarrow. SH.CH. BONAPARTIST ODILE.
Class 27: Special Working Bitch (0)
Class 28: Field Trial Bitch
1st. Mrs R Sampson. PATOUCHE TACHA. Lovely example of the breed and really close to the breed standard. Workmanlike, square and cobby with a beautiful head of correct proportions. Ear carriage is set high and the ear shape is triangular in shape. Neck medium length and clean and well set into shoulders. The shoulders were muscular and correctly angulated which showed when she moved. The movement was sound with brisk short-stride holding her topline on the move. Shown in beautiful muscular condition. Her coat was correct and dense but fairly fine and flat. The forelegs were slightly feathered and the hindlegs well feathered to mid thigh. It was a pleasure to award her the RCC and was close up to the CC winner.
Class 29: Brace Dog/Bitch (2)
