The Saluki or Gazelle

Hound Club

24 October 2026

Late on Friday 23rd with less than 24 hours to go I received a phone call asking if I would judge this most prestigious Breed Club Championship Show.

The situation was the booked overseas judge could not make it due to flights being cancelled. Mrs Karen Hedberg from Sweden had pulled a fantastic entry of 68. I do hope that she gets asked again. In fairness to all exhibitors they accepted the situation and were most supportive throughout the day. With a few committee members in attendance praise must go to Miss Naomi Cowell with outside help drafted in; the show ran smoothly all day. On observation the entry was somewhat mixed mainly in quality but I can honestly say I was pleased with all my class winners and the day turned out to be a successful one for the “Classicus” Team but not owned by the same exhibitor!
