Breed: Shih Tzu

Class 147 – Minor Puppy Dog


1st – Mr & Mrs Jackie & Dave Bowns – Cedarhythe Up To No Good With Bishbow – Best Puppy


A most promising youngster and one of excellent breed type. Lovely broad, rounded head with ample width between the eyes, warm dark expression and correctly placed large dark eyes giving the desired soft yet alert appearance. Good width of muzzle, square and well cushioned with correct finish, complemented by the typical chrysanthemum effect. Well arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders, level topline and a body slightly longer than height giving correct overall balance. Good spring of rib and well angulated hindquarters allowing him to move with drive while maintaining his outline. High set tail carried well over the back and shown with the characteristic arrogant carriage demanded by the standard. Coat developing well for age and beautifully presented. Fully deserving of Best Puppy and one with a bright future pleased to award rcc 


Class 149 – Junior Dog


1st – Mr John Willett & Mrs Debbie Willett – Debeaux Eye On The Ball – Best Junior


Very attractive junior who immediately appealed for breed type and balance. Masculine without coarseness, displaying an excellent broad head, warm expression and correct square foreface. Well pigmented with good width of jaw and correct bite. Excellent neck and shoulder placement leading to a firm level topline and well ribbed body of correct proportions. Tail set high and carried proudly over the back, enhancing his silhouette. Moved with confidence, free and effortless, displaying good reach and positive drive while maintaining his proud carriage. Coat of good texture and presented to perfection.


Class 150 – Post Graduate Dog


1st – Mrs S Longstaff – Shihmali Wild At Heart JW


A balanced dog displaying many of the hallmarks of the breed. Pleasing broad head with good width between the eyes and sweet expression. Square muzzle with good cushioning and excellent pigment. Correct length of neck into well laid shoulders and level topline. Body slightly longer than height with good spring of rib and substance. High set tail carried correctly over the back. Sound mover, showing the effortless and flowing action required by the breed standard. Coat of good quality and expertly prepared.


2nd – Mrs Sandra McMillan – Yazhi Written In The Stars


A pleasing exhibit of good type with attractive expression and broad skull. Good width of muzzle and dark eye. Well balanced body with level topline and correct tail carriage. Moved soundly with purpose and maintained his outline throughout. Preferred the winner today for overall finish and breed character.


Class 151 – Limit Dog


1st – Mr John Willett & Mrs Debbie Willett – Debeaux Magic In The Making


Excellent breed representative with a balanced and compact outline while retaining the correct body length. Superb head qualities with broad rounded skull, dark expressive eyes and a square, well cushioned muzzle creating the desired chrysanthemum appearance. Strong neck into correctly angulated forequarters, level topline and excellent spring of rib. Strong hindquarters producing an easy flowing movement with plenty of drive while maintaining the arrogant carriage so typical of the breed. Tail set high and carried correctly. Coat abundant, of excellent texture and beautifully presented.


2nd – Miss Fleur Clifford – Cedarhythe Dark Destiny


Very pleasing dog of excellent breed type. Lovely masculine head with warm expression and good width throughout. Correct body proportions and sound construction giving a balanced outline. Moved freely with positive hind action and good front extension. Well coated and expertly handled.


3rd – Miss Audrey O'Donnell – Thaisu Trick Or Treat At Chiachi


Compact dog with pleasing head and expression and many breed characteristics. Good topline and tail carriage with balanced angulation front and rear. Sound movement and presented in good coat and condition.


Reserve – Mr & Mrs Jackie & Dave Bowns – Matsonic Midnight Storm Over Bishbow


Well balanced exhibit with pleasing proportions and attractive expression. Good rib and substance with level topline and high tail set. Moved soundly around the ring maintaining his profile.


Class 152 – Open Dog


1st – Miss H L Howard – Ch Tameron Mr Penhaligon's – Dog CC

An outstanding champion and a superb example of the breed standard. Beautifully balanced throughout with no exaggeration, displaying the proud and arrogant bearing so essential in the Shih Tzu. Magnificent headpiece with broad rounded skull, excellent width between the eyes and a soft warm expression. Large dark eyes correctly placed and a square, broad muzzle with excellent cushioning creating the desired chrysanthemum face. Strong neck leading into well laid shoulders, level topline and a body noticeably longer than height without appearing long. Excellent ribbing and hindquarters giving strength and balance. High set tail carried elegantly over the back. On the move he was free flowing and effortless with excellent reach and drive while maintaining his outline at all times. Coat of outstanding quality and immaculate presentation completed a picture difficult to fault. A worthy Dog CC winner.


2nd – Mrs Sandra Cooke – Ch Thaisu's Blinding Light

Another quality champion with excellent breed type and balance. Attractive masculine head and warm expression with correct muzzle and pigment. Well constructed throughout with a level topline and excellent tail carriage. Moved freely and soundly with good carriage. Just preferred the overall finish and presence of the winner today.


3rd – Mrs M Flack & Ms AnnKi Hals – Ch Multi Ch Mifcah's The King And I JW

Very typical dog with excellent breed character and lovely expression. Good body proportions and sound construction with free movement and quality presentation. A worthy champion in strong company.


Class 153 – Veteran Dog/Bitch


1st – Mr T Crossland – Chaela Ralphish – Best Veteran

A veteran who has retained so much breed type and quality. Excellent head and expression with broad skull and typical chrysanthemum face. Good body proportions with firm topline and correct tail carriage. Moved soundly with enthusiasm and dignity, carrying himself proudly throughout. Wonderful to see him in such excellent condition and a deserving Best Veteran.

2nd – Mrs Yvonne Forbes – Ch Paliden Bucks Fizz To Ekland JW

Well preserved veteran with pleasing breed characteristics and balanced outline. Lovely expression and good body proportions. Moved soundly and showed happily throughout.

Class 154 – Minor Puppy Bitch

1st – Miss Fleur Clifford – Cedarhythe Sassy Salsa – Reserve Bitch CC

A beautiful feminine puppy who immediately caught the eye for her quality and breed type. Lovely broad head with large dark eyes and sweetest expression. Excellent square muzzle with good width and cushioning producing the typical chrysanthemum effect. Correct neck and shoulders into a firm topline and well ribbed body of correct proportions. High set tail carried proudly over the back and moved with confidence and balance for one so young. Coat already showing excellent texture and presentation. Her overall quality earned her a well deserved Reserve Bitch CC.

2nd – Mrs S Longstaff – Carlita's Passion To Love At Shihmali

Very attractive puppy with pleasing head and expression. Good body shape and balanced construction with sound movement. Coat developing nicely and should continue to improve with maturity.

Class 156 – Junior Bitch

Feminine junior displaying lovely breed type and balance. Broad head with warm expression and correct square muzzle. Good body proportions with level topline and correct tail carriage. Moved freely with good extension and drive while maintaining her outline.

Class 157 – Post Graduate Bitch

Quality bitch with much to admire. Excellent feminine head with dark expressive eyes and broad skull. Correct body length and level topline with good spring of rib and balanced angulation. Moved effortlessly with style while maintaining her proud carriage. Beautifully presented.


2nd – Mr T Crossland – Debeaux Then There Was You

Balanced and attractive bitch with pleasing head and expression. Sound construction throughout with free movement and good carriage. Presented in lovely coat and condition.

Class 158 – Limit Bitch

Elegant bitch of excellent breed type with a lovely outline. Beautiful headpiece with broad skull, dark eyes and soft expression. Correct body proportions, level topline and high tail set. Moved with freedom and balance while maintaining her profile. Coat of excellent texture and presentation.

Very feminine exhibit with pleasing expression and sound construction. Good body proportions and balanced movement with quality coat. Presented to advantage.

Class 159 – Open Bitch

A truly outstanding bitch and one who epitomises the Shih Tzu breed standard. From first glance she demanded attention with her regal, arrogant carriage and impeccable balance. Exquisite broad rounded head with ample width, large dark eyes and a warm, intelligent expression. Superb square muzzle with excellent cushioning and width of jaw, creating the classic chrysanthemum face. Correct neck flowing into well laid shoulders, level topline and body slightly longer than height, giving perfect proportions. Excellent spring of rib and strong hindquarters producing effortless, flowing movement with reach and drive while maintaining her silhouette at all times. Tail set high and carried proudly over the back. Coat of exceptional quality, abundant without obscuring her outline and presented to perfection. A complete picture of breed type and quality, fully deserving of both the Bitch CC and Best of Breed.

2nd – Mr T Crossland – Chaela Soda Pop

A quality bitch of lovely breed type and femininity. Excellent head properties with broad skull, dark eyes and pleasing expression. Balanced body with firm topline and high tail carriage. Moved freely and soundly with good reach and drive. Beautifully presented but today could not quite match the outstanding quality, finish and overall breed type of the winner.
