Thank you to The Officers & Committee for the invitation to judge this years show which was a huge honour & a privilege that I enjoyed going over your lovely breed. My stewards did a grand job & all ran smoothly throughout the day. I have to say I witnessed a good sporting atmosphere and each class received clapping which enhances peoples wins. Every show & judge is different & what one judge may emphasise more on others will not so this is only my opinions on the exhibits presented to me today.
One of my winners was not of correct colouring desired for the breed however the dilemma was do I put up the not so good dogs conformation wise who can move & do a days work as intended or nock a dog of poor coat colouring, this is only one point of a dog & they need to be judged overall rather than fault judging. Would I give top honours No but neither would I dismiss an exhibit with one fault.
This is my fourth appointment judging this breed at Championship level and a point I noted today that I have not seen before was that some exhibits had the wrong shaped front feet, they were bordering on being rounded in shape as opposed to the desirable hare foot. I found no problems with pads but do not let this type of foot shape creep in over time.
Mouths were good as were temperaments, no quarrelsome dogs nor was there any noisy dogs. All exhibits were presented clean & in good health. Thank you to all who entered today & took my decisions in a sporting manner.
Minor Puppy D/B (2) : Both bitches.1 Lowe’s Notice Snowanna Rainbeau By Tessarion, B.P.B. & B.P. Res C.C. feminine & a pleasing size, loved her outline both stacked & on the move, good dentition, firm jaw of good shape, correctly set eyes, just a little tear staining which hopefully can be corrected, good length of ear well placed, long tapering neck, carries herself well & has a light springy movement, well shaped feet & thick pads, body correct for young age, linty coat well presented, carries her tail correctly & is a good length, one I shall watch with interest, super temperament ; 2 Long’s Kinnuva Plakwaaier Marble At Dunkswell liver coat of good texture, liked her body shape, correct feet, very feminine & raw compared to 1st but shows good promise, tail of correct length & carried well, for one so young she moved out well with confidence, raw in her body but as expected.
Puppy D (2) : 1 & B.P.D. Jackson’s Bizzebeddies Joyeux Noel, masculine but not coarse, very much at the gangly stage of his development, lovely head shape, correct eye & ear, long tapering neck, deep brisket & flat ribbing, moved well fore & aft with good tail carriage, correctly shaped feet & thick pads, not a heavy coat but well textured & presented, good arch of loin, excellent rear & he was in the best muscular condition of all entered today ; 2 Westwood’s Terriwest Shaken And Stirred, pleasing for size & shape, he was slightly tense today which at certain times spoilt his outline, just needs to gain in confidence, sound mover, correct feet, prefer head of 1st, strong well made hocks & tail carried correctly.
Jun D (2-1abs) : 1 B Joyeux N
Yearling D (2-1abs) : 1 Jackson’s Rhicullen Blue Knight JW another with good muscle & is in hard condition, strong jaw, well set eye & ear, carrying a little too much weight which takes his rib shape away, good arch over loin, firm hocks, well set tail, moved ok would prefer to see him more relaxed, strong bite with large teeth.
P. Grad D (2-1abs) : 1 Poultney’s Ratswell Bring Me Sunshine 2 yr old up to size masculine in nice linty coat texture which is well presented, pleasing in head shape, well placed ears of good length, long neck that tapers into pleasing shoulders, in good hard condition but hocks could be firmer, tail well set, good length & carriage, moved better in front than from his rear.
Limit D (2) : 1 Scott’s Amifidele Hashtag Hipster, 3 yr old who appealed for size, masculine & not heavily built or coarse, well balanced, pleasing in head shape with good firm jaws, well shaped & set ears, eyes small & bright, firm neck that tapers & is of good length, well set shoulders, correct ribbing & loin, nice arch & nothing exaggerated, moved out well just wanted to see a prouder head carriage, well set tail, stands himself well to present a pleasing outline when stacked ; 2 Poultney’s Jobanker Rocky Road, liver with well presented coat, larger in build which I prefer size of 1st but he is balanced & masculine, good head shape, prefer slightly smaller ears, in good body shape, pleasing shape of feet, moved sound & lightly.
Open D (4-1abs) : 1 Pederson’s Ch Silverkinn Skyfall Of Topaz 3 yr old male who stood out in todays entry of males, excellent head shape, correct eye that is bright, small & almost triangular, excellent ears, long tapering neck that flows into his shoulders, he stands with forelegs straight & wider at chest than his feet, excellent feet & thick pads, loved his ribbing & loin, top quality coat texture & presentation, his movement very typical for this breed & nothing about him is exaggerated, presented in top quality hard condition, well set tail carried correctly, only slightly highly raised when it came to being in the ring with the bitch which is understandable in a stud dog, when it came to fill in the C.C. I was not at all surprised to see he has his title, worthy winner ; 2 Fletcher’s Ch Sharon Sultan Of Spice JW 2 yr old who catches your eye, masculine of good height, would not want him any larger in build, super head, neck & shoulder, has well set eye, prefer the finer textured ear of 1st, well bodied & in excellent hard muscular condition, linty coat texture which was well presented, good feet shape & thick pads, carries his tail well & moved sound & lightly Res C.C. 3 Godden’s Ch Ozbreeze Surprise Of The Day At Vakerblue.
Veteran D (2) : 1 & B.V. Kinn’s Kinnuva Dark Sleekster 10 yr old liver who showed well for his senior years, good ear placement & length on a well shaped head & firm jaws, in good body still, he is pleasing in balance with well shaped feet & well set tail, still moving out well ; 2 Gillie’s Ch/Ir Ch Rhicullen Rennie Mac, well shaped head with good jaws, ears nicely placed as are his eyes, today rather heavy in his ribbing, larger all through than 1st, preferred the front movement of 1st, well muscled & correctly carries his tail which is well set on.

Good Cit D/B (4) : 1 Kinn’s Kinnuva Caramel Indulgence, liked the shape of this bitch & she moved soundly fore & aft, sadly not a good coat colour but she won on having better breed conformation & shape over the rest of the class, feminine, well shaped head, good ear set & size, needs more fill in her front, super ribbing & loin, nothing exaggerated, well set hocks & tail ; 2 Kinn’s Kinnuva Expresso Elixir, just a shade heavier in build than 1 who I see is litter sister, this one has a better coat colouring but not the outline or movement to match 1st, good head shape, well set ears, a shade heavier in her ribbing which takes the outline away ; 3 T Spirit B.
Puppy B (4-2abs) : 1 & R.B.P. Fletcher’s Maevani Huntress of Spica quite mature looking & showing herself to advantage at all times, like her size & has a firm strong jaw with large teeth, good eye shape & set, ears close to cheek, tapering neck that is in balance with her overall, well filled body but ribbing is flat, firm loin nicely arched, excellent presentation, I see is sired by my Res Dog C.C. winner ; 2 Nind’s Greneetrest Oh What Fun finer in build all through than 1st but is balanced, prefer the head shape of 1st, good neck length, feet could be better in shape, tail well set on & carried, very raw & needs time.
