Obviously, a huge honour to judge at Crufts. Walking into those green rings sent a tingle down my spine. It took me back to many memories showing the breed abroad for several years. On one occasion a beautiful fawn dog at the Paris show. I was also involved with the breeding and whelping etc.

A very impressive male with a masculine head of the correct proportions something missing in the breed often. Expressive eyes. And good ears, not to heavy. Strong bite. Good front and bone. Firm topline. A strong well angulated rear with good hocks. Coat was a bit soft. Staedy free mover. Well presented.

2ND 2628 - Swiss Ch Fostebrie Just Exquisite of Crakebrie JW (Mrs M Craker)

Many attributes as the winner with a harsher coat texture however rather in between coat at the moment. Good head and expression. Firm topline and a balanced outline. Good hocks. Moved with purpose.

Smart young fawn in good condition. Balanced head and a strong bite. Good eye shape and colour. Good ears. Enough neck and a well angulated front with good bone and feet. Good topline and tail. Good colour and coat coming through well Correct tail strong rear with good hocks. Moved well. Little apprehensive however time should improve this.

 Very smart fawn with a deep colour. Very typical outline. Not to big but masculine and developing well. Well-schooled. Balanced head with a good bite. Good eye shape and colour. Good ears. Well angulated front with good bone. Firm topline and a good rear. Strong hocks. Moved with drive. In very good condition and well presented. Very promising prospect.

A quality dog in great coat of a good colour. Balanced outline. Masculine head with a strong bite. Good ears. Strong neck and a good front with plenty of bone. Topline needs to firm up. Strong well-muscled rear with good hocks. Moved with drive.

A well presented mature looking male in great coat which was of the correct texture. Good expression. Dark eye colour and a strong bite. Good bone. Typical outline with a good topline and tail. Strong well-muscled rear. Good hocks. Free mover and well presented.

2ND 2626 - Fostebrie Black Thunder (Mrs J & Mr S, Mrs C Wilkinson & Foster)

A dog that will develop well he is rather in-between at the moment. A steady free mover. Great head and expression. Would prefer a little more neck. Good bone. A firm topline. Good rear with strong hocks. Typical tail. Moved well.

A mature looking well-groomed dog that still looked very natural. Very steady free moving boy which attracted me to him on the initial move around. Lovely temperament. Masculine head with a good bite. Good neck and front with good bone. Firm topline. Well-muscled rear with strong hocks. Very good coat texture a very important breed specific point.

2ND 2660 - Jandade Roi Charles (Mr K & Mrs M & Miss D Peirson & Peirson & Wilson)

 Quality black dog in great coat and condition. Super expression. Really dark expressive eyes. Great outline. Mature in body. Well-muscled rear with good hocks and a good tail. Dry coat. Well presented and he moved well. It was a close call between these two.

This dog was everything I was looking for in this breed. Breed standard personified! To be honest I have admired him for a long time. There is no exaggeration here however he truly has star quality. A winner in any country France included. His head is classic and gave me goosebumps. Good eye colour and shape. He uses his ears! Good neck, front and bone. Mature in body. Firm topline. Strong well-muscled rear with strong hocks. Correct tail. Dry mature coat. Excellent presentation. Just watch how he moves to see how the breed should! So pleased to award him the CC and BOB. Shortlisted in a quality group.

A very typical black mature dog in great condition with a very typical outline and a great temperament. Looked like he could work all day. Shiny mature dry coat. Excellent head proportions. Dark eyes with strong pigment. Very good neck and front with good bone. Mature in body. Well-muscled rear with good hocks. Correct tail. I really liked him.

Litter sister to the winner and obviously very similar. Not as confident as the winner and she needs to strengthen in hock. Coat coming through well. Will be interesting to see her develop.

Stunning bitch with so much breed type and not exaggerated in any way. Simply glided around the ring as if she owned it which she did! Really fell for her. So feminine and sound. Gorgeous deep fawn coat with the correct texture. Really typical unexaggerated movement. Perfectly presented. Shame the owners didn’t stay for a photo!

Strong bite. Balanced neck with a good front and bone. Mature in body with a strong loin. Well-muscled rear with good hocks. Excellent presentation even when she was naughty and playing her handler up. Best mover in this class.
