CHIHUAHUA CLUB OF SOUTH WALES CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW - Sunday, 22 February 2026

Many thanks to the Committee for inviting me to judge the Smoothcoats and to my stewards, Phil & Jan Shepherd, for keeping the ring moving. I was delighted with my entry of 83 exhibits of which 67 were present. I found the majority of mouths were very good; rear movement needs to be watched, and some feet were spoilt by nails that were far too long which can also affect movement.

My apologies to the class interrupted when I nearly fainted due to a hypo – thanks to Emma Hicks for her quick supply of juice and banana and Anne Halls for the chocolate, all of which quickly sorted me out.

MPD (4,2) 1. Anadeia Annael (Poyner) 7month old cream with sweet expression, nice length of neck leading to level topline and correct tail carriage. Needs to body up a little which I am sure will come. 2. Arkoschi Cal Me Mr Farenheit (Gentle) 8month old cream with typical head properties, a happy chunky puppy who moved well with a level topline. Preferred the tail carriage of 1.PD (3,1) 1, BPD & BPIB. Starceylon Nick Rockett (Rooney & Holland-Smith) 11month red with lovely round eyes, correct ear placement, good length of neck and moved with drive carrying a level topline and correct tail carriage. Nice compact body shape, good turn of stifle. Very happy to award him BPD and later BPIB.2. Zoomeera Stormbreaker (Hartley & Fahey) 9month black tri with kind expression and nice ear placement. Moved out briskly showing a level topline and correct tail carriage and good angulation.JD (3,1) 1, DCC & RBOB. Ch. Arkoschi Don’t Stop Me Now (Taylor) This fawn dog of 17 months took my eye as he came in the ring moving round with panache showing enough neck, a level topline, correct tail carriage and good angulation giving a lovely overall shape. On closer inspection he has lovely head properties with large expressive eyes, good ear placement and a lovely coat. Pleased to award him the CC and RBOB.2. Davixaty Ay Papi at Mujerosa (Skinner) 13month old cream who moved happily around the ring showing sound movement, he has nice head properties, preferred overall body shape of 1.SYD (7) 1. Ch. Diamonchi Italian Stallion (Fothergill) White boy of 19 months who moved round the ring with purpose. Compact body with level a top line & lovely tail set. Sweet, alert expression with large dark eyes 2. Jorazan Sox It Toem with Buffrey JW (Neath-Coyne & Coyne) Red boy of 17 months. Lovely expression. Very sound little boy moving with drive. 3. Legado de Lagos Oh Dios Mio at Casiatodo (Imp Esp)PGD (4,1) 1. Anadeia Nallion at Dreamcrewes (Crew) Compact cream boy who had a good head with large dark eyes and flaring ears. Moved with purpose carrying a level top line leading to a correct tail set. 2. Pepeetolynn Rich Tea (Jones) Pleasing head with kind expression, moved out with drive and held a level topline. 3. Anadeia Eowyn at Lauloura (Burrows)LD (8,3) 1 & RDCC. Jahneemahs Looney Tune (Huntley) Well balanced cream with lovely head properties, kind dark eyes, correct erect ears and good pigment. Moved with drive holding a level topline, correct tail set carried well and has a good turn of stifle. Pushed hard for the ticket – unlucky to meet the ticket winner. Pleased to award him the Reserve CC. 2. Alderxena Ruler Of A Kingdom JW another one with typical head properties with large dark eyes, moved well coming and going holding a level top line. 3. Xmas Dancer De Petit Roi Mojito at Casiatodo (Imp Deu)OD (9,1) A hard class with some lovely dogs to choose from 1. Ch Jorazan Quincy Quirky Sox JW (Halls) Fawn boy with a lot to like. Lovely head with large dark eyes and good pigment. Good angulation moved well both ways holding a level top line and correct tail-set. 2. Ch Diamonchi Mr Moonstone (Fothergill) a compact red boy with typical head properties, decent length of neck leading to level topline and correct tail set. Moved with drive, 3. Am GCH/Multi Ch Superiority Complex S Lipetskih Ozer (Hornby & Kruichkova)VD (2) Hard decision between these two lovely champions 1 & BVIB Ch Parisland Pans Little Man at Manchino (Mann) This 7-year-old red parti colour has not lost his presence. Super head and expression and moved round the ring with drive revealing his level topline and correct tail carriage. 2 & RBVIB. Ch Diamonchi Button Moon for Moltobello (Hunt) Another lovely 7-year-old , red, a little slighter than 1, but much the same comments apply. Moved out with drive. Large dark eyes giving a melting expression.Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch (2) A “class” that I personally do not like as I believe “babies” should not be in competition but just be having a fun time practicing in a baby walk! These two cream babies, just 4 months old and, according to the catalogue, were born on the same day with the same sire but different dams, were very similar. Both had nice expressions and moved ok when settled. I will be interested to see them in another couple of months with a bit more body and schooling. 1. Charonchi Sirius TAF (Sutton) 2. Charonchi Soul Sister at Lauloura (Burrows).MPB (5,1) 1. Arkoschi Theres No Stopin Me (Taylor) Petite cream of 7 months, large dark eyes, well set flaring ears, compact body with good tail set, moved round the ring like a pro. Later saw her sire was my ticket winner, a bright future, I am sure. 2. Anadeia Faelwyn (Poyner) Another compact puppy of just 6 months, pleasing cheeky expression, stood well and moved out ok just not as animated as 1. 3. Nikitos Nofilterneeded (Sutton)PB (3,1) 1, BPB & RBPIB. Legado De Lagos Ice Ice Baby at Casiotodo (Imp Esp) (Hicks) Cream & white of 10 months with lovely dark expressive eyes, super pigment and flaring ears, flew round the ring with drive showing her balanced construction. Pleased to award her BPB and RBPIB. 2. Zoomeera Stormcloud (Hartley & Fahey) black tri of 9 months, pretty head with large dark eyes and good pigment. Moved happily keeping a level topline.JB (7,1) 1. Jodeschi Glamour Puss (Ginger) Very pretty red of 17months, large dark eyes, super pigment, nice compact body, moved out with style, very attentive to handler. 2. Legado De Lagos Microsoft at Casiotodo (Imp Esp) (Hicks) Another pretty bitch, a cream and white of 10months with typical cheeky expression, moved well showing a level topline & carrying her tail well. 3. Baralicia Mini Maestro (Barker)SYB (5,1) 1. Moltobello Miss Moonstone JW (Hunt) Attractive fawn of 20 months, lovely head properties with dark lustrous eyes and super pigment. Good length of neck leading to a level topline, she has nice angulation and correct tail-set. 2. Legado De Lagos Las Fama at Casiotodo (Imp Esp) Pretty black tri of 17months with sweet expression, held a nice shape on the move which she did with drive. 3. Jorazan Talia Toffifi Sox PGB (6,1,1w/d) 1 & RBCC. Diamonchi La Dolcie Vita (Fothergill) Lovely cream bitch of nice size, super head properties, moved out with style showing good angulation, a level topline & carrying a correct tail. Pleased to award her the Reserve CC. 2. Stadmeyer Jasmine Dorenty (Entwistle) Pretty fawn bitch with typical head properties, moved out well showing her good balanced construction. 3. Anadeia Luthien for Dreamcrewes (Crew) LB (7,1) A very nice class and was nitpicking 1. Moltobello Game of Thrones JW (Hunt) Cream bitch with pleasing head properties, dark eyes and pigment. Moves well keeping a level topline, good angulation. 2. Anadeia Tauriel at Lauloura (Burrows) another pleasing cream with the same comments as 1, lovely dark eyes, moved out with a level topline, good tail set and good angulation. 3. Legado De Lagos American Idol at Casiatodo (Imp Esp) (Hicks) OB (8,1) A class full of quality bitches could have done with 7 cards.1, BCC & BOB Ch Bramerita Posh Totty (Hornby) A red girl with dark expressive eyes and correct ear placement. Moved with drive showing her compact body, level topline, good tail-set and nice turn of stifle. Pleased to award her the CC and BOB. 2. Ch Jahneemahs Just The Ticket (Huntley) Another worthy champion, my notes had these two bitches close up. Cream with large dark eyes, flaring ears and good length of muzzle. Level topline held on the move displaying her lovely outline. 3.
