Critique for the Chihuahua Club of South Wales on the 22nd February 2026

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at this lovely show. I consider it an honour to be asked to judge at a breed club show. The hospitality was second to none. I had a lovely day and would like to thank the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me, as we all know there would be no shows if not for our exhibitors. So thank you all. On the whole I found much improvement in the mouths but I still found a lot of dogs who needed their nails cut. It spoils the movement on the dog if nails are over long.

MPD. (6.1) 1st. Robson’s Tidos the Best Man.This 7 month old boy, his conformation and movement both for and aft was good. He’s got the correct bite. Lovely eye and uses his ears well. He’s got a flat furry tail which he carried in a good sickle. Pleased to award him RBPD 2nd Burrows Anadeia at Lauloura lovely 6 month old cream boy, good eye and uses ears well when asked. Good movement with a continuous wagging tail which was nice to see. 3rd Sangsters Kirlasidh Speed Bonnie Boat.

PD. (3.0) 1st. Rooney & Holland-Smith’s Starceylon Red Rum. Lovely compact dog, good lay of shoulder leading to a level topline which was kept on the move, moved well. Nice eye. Uses ears well with a cheeky expression . Correct dentition. Pleased to award him BPD 2nd. Newbery’s Hermosoangel Little Pepper. This boy was shown in lovely condition. Good movement with the correct tail set. Nice round eye and pleasing ear set. Stand well. 3rd. Edwards Tinasjoy Well I never.

JD. (1.0) 1st. Lynch’s Chirolin Magic Strike at Garnox. Very smart Red and White Boy. Moves really well with good reach and drive. Good mouth with correct dentition. Stood alone but deserved his placement.

 SpY. (3.1) This was a nice class of two very happy chappies 1st. Robsons Tidos Pumpkin Pie. This boy was nice and compact, uses his ears to perfection, good mouth, great mover and shown in lovely condition. 2nd. Lewis & Clarke’s Tyssul Ffevrin with Chompiras. Another nice boy. R/W, uses his ears when asked. Correct dentition. Lovely eyes. Moved well.

PG. (5.1) 1st. Robsons Tidos Dark Destroyer. This black tri boy has got a lovely conformation which allowed him to move with purpose, keeping a level topline. Uses ears well, nice stop, good mouth. Shown in good condition. 2nd. Mann’s Parisland Dark Destroyer. Lovely eyes on this boy, he carries his tail correctly, moves well but I preferred the rear on one. 3rd Skinner’s Mujerose Bobby’s Heart in Heaven JW.

LD. (8.1) 1st. Jahneemahs Hey Big Spender. This cream boy is a lovely size. Really nice round dark eyes, uses ears well, good level topline which he kept on the move. Good dentition, nicely domed head, good stop. 2nd. Barker’s Mocha Vanilla Baralicia JW. Another overall nice dog, moves well keeping a topline, good dentition. Got beaten on size. 3rd. Lee’s Tidos Trick or Treat.

OD. (5.0) 1st. FR/LUX/SWISS CH. Million Dolar Dogomania. What a lovely R/W boy this is. Moves swiftly with both reach and drive. Really nice to go over, large dark eyes, good stop, correct dentition. Good headpiece. Nice reach of neck and well laid shoulders, level topline, good return of stifle, correct tailset and carriage. Very nice boy. Pleased to award him the CC. 2nd. Sangster’s CH. Kirlasidh Young Pretender. This is another lovely boy. So much to like about him. Dark eyes, Correct dentition, Good stop, uses his ears very well. Moves really well, both fore and aft. Pleased to award him RDCC. 3rd. JPN CH Go My Way JP’S Shake Cocktail at Tidos.

VD. (4.0) 1st. Ridgehawk Freds Legacy. This R/W dog belies his age. He’s now 10 years old and still moves like a youngster. He’s got eyes you could lose yourself in. Uses his ears really well. And he was shown in good condition. Long may he continue. 2nd. Cater’s CH. Tyssul Awel Y Mor in Pixels JW. Another R/W shown in good condition. She’s 7 years old and still moves round the ring swiftly. She’s lighter framed than the 1st but still as lovely.

Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch…1st. Jahneemahs Girl Code. 5 months old. This is a lovely little puppy..she did all that was asked of her. Good ear placement and used ears well. Correct dentition. Moved freely round the ring. 2nd Lee’s Ridgehawk Stroller. Another 5 month old a dog this time. This boy has got lovely eyes. Nice ears, Moved well. Correct dentition.

3rd. Clarke’s Ridgehawk Serendipity. Another 5 month old. Litter sister to the dog above. And she was doing what a baby puppy should be doing. Playing and having fun. She was a little cutie.

MPB (5.0) 1st. Hornby’s Bramerita Priceless. Wow. My star of the day!!. She came in the ring and I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She is absolutely beautiful. She’s got the prettiest of faces, lovely headpiece, nice apple domed head, lovely dark eyes, good stop, correct dentition. Good reach of neck leading down to a good lay of shoulders which enabled her to move swiftly round the ring with both good reach and excellent drive. Correct tail set and held tail at a perfect sickle. I was very pleased to award her BPIB and the RBCC…And was so pleased to see her go BPIS…another one out of the top drawer for Bramerita. 2nd Huntleys Jahneemahs Sinfully Sweet. This is another really nice puppy. She has got all the attributes that are needed. She has a correct mouth and dentition. Really good ear set and uses ears well. She moves really well both fore and aft. Shown in good condition. 3rd. Newbery’s Hermosoangel’s Temptation.

PB. (3.2) 1st Edwards Legado De Lagos Princess Leia Tinasjoylo. Such a lovely friendly girl, she’s got the sweetest of heads, nice round dark eyes. Correct mouth. Moves freely round the ring. Stood alone but she deserved her placement.

JB. (4.0) 1st. Crew’s Paradise Crazy Passion for Dreamcrewes. This girl has a spirit level topline which she keeps on the move with the correct tailset in a sickle. Correct dentition. Uses ears well. Good eye. Shown in good condition. 2nd. Henefer’s Torre Del Pilar Begonia JW . Another girl with a lovely topline, she has a nice straight front. Good eye, Correct dentition, Moves really well. 3rd. Prinzi’s Lollymoos true Delight.

SpYB (5.2) 1st Grahams Tyssul Ffansi Dou. A Black Tri girl shown in lovely condition. Uses her ears all the time. A very kind eye. Good mouth. On the move she holds her tail correctly and is very attentive to her owner. 2nd. Skinner’s Mujerosa Miss Talkulah JW. Another girl who is very attentive to her owner. Lovely eyes, Good dentition. Uses her ears when spoken to. Moves freely round the ring. 3rd. Lewis’s Tyssul Fflur.

PGB. (3.2) 1st. Berrington & Smiths Pappersley Chomolungma. This lovely girl is as sound as they come. Her dentition is good, she’s got large dark eyes, uses her ears and keeps a level topline when on the move.

LB. (5.1) 1st. Huntley’s Jahneemahs Go Blonde. A really lovely cream girl with a nice conformation and moves swiftly round the ring keeping a level topline at all times. Her dentition is correct. She’s got eyes you could lose yourself in, and uses her ears so well. Shown in immaculate condition. 2nd Cater’s Lykaths Light of Earendilin Pixels JW. This girl was shown in great condition. She had lovely eyes. Used her ears when required and moved round the ring freely. 3rd. Barkers Baralicia Jenny Wren.

OB. (2.0) 1st. Entwistles CH Dorenty Textututango. This cream girl never took her eyes off of her owner. She showed to perfection. She’s got lovely big round eyes, ears set on at the required angle and used brilliantly. Her conformation is spot on which enabled her to move like a dream round the ring keeping a level topline at all times. A very worthy champion. I was pleased to award her the BCC. 2nd (2.0) Hornby’s Bramerita Little Red Head. This little girl never stops showing, she Is very attentive to her owner at all times. She has all the attributes she needs. Good mouth, nice headpiece with good stop. Correct ear placement and she flies round the ring. Easy to see why she is a champion.

VB. (4.1) + 1 W/D. 1st. Lee’s CH Barwater Agatha Christie of Ridgehawk. What a lovely girl this 7 year old is, shown in great condition. She has a lovely kind eye, good stop and a nice length of muzzle. Still moves briskly round the ring. I was pleased to award her BVIB.
