United Old English Sheepdog Club – Sunday 7th June 2026 - Special Award Classes

My thanks to this friendly and welcoming committee for the honour to judge the Special Award Classes at their club championship show. I had such a lovely day, the sportsmanship was super and the show had a professional yet relaxed atmosphere. My thanks to the wonderful steward for being so nice and efficient too.

Junior – a lovely class of mixed maturity of youngsters.

1st Palmer’s Hazyland Girl of Ice and Fire. 9mth old girl with a nice outline and correct head proportions. Good bone, correct topline with slight rise over loin. I appreciated her angles and she moved out so well. Covered in a super coat to finish off the picture.

2nd Pullen’s Meadowbears Master of Magic – just a baby at 6mths but so together. Square profile with good bone for age. He was lovely to go over and enjoyed his time in the ring. He had a baby coat of good texture and was well presented.

3rd Alwood’s Ladamis Lady Liberty – smaller framed but in proportion, feminine and confident. Beautifully presented.

4th Gould’s Merdelaines Instaglam – just a baby but showing much promise. Super rear movement! Her young handler did such a wonderful job at showing her off – stood and moved her spot on! At the beginning of my judging, I was asked to award a trophy to a dog – and afterwards I awarded it to this girl and her young hander as a reminder that last in a class doesn’t mean you’re not a worthy exhibit - I will look out for her future wins.

Post Grad - stood alone but a worthy winner.

1st Winson’s Meisan Roly Poly Angelo JW – 2 year old chap with much to like. Square in profile and balanced. Liked his head with strong muzzle and dark eyes. Firm topline with gentle rise. Well muscled rear and low set hocks. He moved really easy around the ring. Covered in a good coat of harsh texture.

Open – what a super class of OES!

1st McDermott’s Urban Girl Of Reality Dream – 3.5 year old and a lovely size and shape. She is a super mover coming from her rear angulation and well-muscled thighs teamed with the correct front with good lay of shoulder. Like her head proportions and dark pigment. She was covered in a well presented jacket.

2nd Wheeler’s Makaylen Savanna Pearl, 2 years old so not the maturity of the winner. Nice arch to neck into a good front with decent forechest too. Liked her head proportions, with required stop and strong muzzle. Moved well and really good side profile. Harsh coat so well presented.

3rd Sweet & Doran’s Makaylen Cu Caol Lla JW – such a feminine girl with a lovely head. Presented immaculately and moved well.

4th Leggett’s Mellowdee Sapphire Moon Avec Meldale JW – Good profile and stood really well. Loved her naturally presented clean harsh coat. Feminine throughout.

5th Adams’ Makaylen Majestic Lady, another OES who was present immaculately and in super toned condition.
