CAIRN TERRIERS
Puppy Dog (1,0 abs)
1st – Griffiths’ Wonderpaws Darth Vader – 8 mth, showy, Dark Brindle pup, stood alone in the class. Has a masculine head with correct stop and eye, good head furnishings with neat ears correctly paced. Good length of neck, shoulders ok, level topline on the move, tail carried well. Good turn of stifle. Correct harsh coat. Currently still in growth stages, front movement still needs to tighten.
Junior Dog (1,0 abs)
1st – Hogarty’s Cadagio That’s What I Like - This 11mth old red coated boy stood alone in the class but shone throughout. Masculine head, in proportion with correct stop, dark almond shaped eye, giving a lovely cheeky, alert expression. He has a lovely strong jaw with good scissor bite. Shoulders correctly placed, ribcage of correct shape and depth, allowing free movement. Well balanced, hind angulation good, moved with drive and purpose. Correct bone throughout. Loved this boy and although he still has to fully mature, there was enough of him and he was a true show off, so pleased to be able to award him BP, BJ, DCC. Awarded BOB in the challenge.
Although I was unable to stay for the remainder of the day to support my BOB, I was thrilled on checking results for him later, to see he was also awarded RBPIS! Congratulations!
Graduate Dog (2,0 abs)
1st – Robertson’s Cornton Summer Special - Cream coloured boy, good head with dark eye, length of neck ok, correct shape of rib cage held a level topline on the move but would like a little more space on the rear movement.
2nd – Kears’ Lindcoly Outta This World - Brindle boy who really wasn’t happy in this class, and it showed in his movement. He has a masculine head, well furnished with good stop and dark eye. Good length of neck, correct length of loin, correct shape of ribcage. Came into second class happier, where he moved better too.
Postgraduate Dog (3,1 abs)
1st – Percy’s Ariom Northern Dancer with Winetta - Red harsh coated dog, overall, nicely balanced with good angulations. Has a good masculine head with a lovely expression, correctly set on neck which flows into correct shoulder placement. Head in proportion to body, fore chest ok. Showed and moved well, in tune with his owner.
2nd – Polaneks’ Bireslaw Morris Dancer - Wheaten male another masculine head, with broad skull, good stop, and correct ear placement. Eyes dark, of correct shape, with lovely dark points, Shorter in neck than 1st – ribcage and length of loin good, level topline on the move, and holds his tail correctly. moved ok.
Limit Dog (5,0 abs)
1st – Parkins’ Mosspur Into the Shadows - Red boy, of nice size. Masculine head, strong muzzle in proportion to broad skull, ear placement good and correct eye, and dentition. Nice length of neck, correct and balanced angulations and correct shoulder placement. Pleasing depth of rib, length of leg in proportion to body, moved and showed well. RDCC
2nd – Griffiths’ Wonderpaws Obi Wan Kenobi - Wheaten, of similar size to 1. Typical well-furnished head with dark points & good stop. Has correct dentition, strong lower jaw, and an overall cheeky expression. Angulations not as balanced as 1st place. Occasionally carried his tail slightly higher than I would like, but tail set ok.
3rd – Lucas & Tobutts’ Carradine Sir Percival
Open Dog (2,0abs)
1st – Lucas & Tobutts’ Seveek Country Lad - Grey brindle, with keen expression, dark eyes and correct size and placement of ears. Good length of neck, and placement and front angulations good. Movement ok but doesn’t have the drive I prefer. Showed well.
2nd – Munday’s Lentrica Mystic Warrior - Dark boy, skull broad, but would prefer a little more stop for a male. Good length of neck, shoulder placement ok, but ribcage gives the body a fuller look, affecting front movement coming towards you. Holds a level topline, moved with drive at the rear.
Veteran Dog (3,2abs)
1st – Parker-Tucker’s CH Uniquecottage Grey Borage – 7.5 year-old wheaten boy, who still has the most lovely movement from all sides. Masculine head, with dark points. Well balanced, with correct angulations front and rear. Sadly, he didn’t show himself off today, as was flattening ears back on the move, and not in tune with his owner. Still pleased I could award him BV as I very much like him to go over. Could also do with a bit more of a trim off his neck to make the best of his features. In the challenge, considered for top honours, but he was outshone today. However, pleased to award him BV.
Special Beginners Dog (3,0abs)
1st - Robertson’s Cornton Summer Special
2nd – Kears’ Lindcoly Outta This World – just to add movement better in this class.
3rd - Polaneks’ Bireslaw Morris Dancer
Puppy Bitch (1,0abs)
1st – K Saich’s Lindcoly Esmeralda - Dark brindle 8 mth old who wasn’t fazed by being alone. Head with broad skull and good stop, expressive dark eyes finished her. Overall, a nice size pup for her age, excellent front assembly with balanced rear, length of body in proportion to leg length, held a level topline and had drive in the rear on the move. Another time, this girl could have taken the best puppy, as I just loved her. Will be watching out for her future.
Junior Bitch (1,0abs)
1st – Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Dreamer - This red girl was lovely to go over, but really didn’t want to co-operate with her handler, making it difficult to see her movement. Pretty head, with broad skull and correct ear placement. Standing presents a nice outline but could do with losing a little weight. Good harsh coat.
Graduate Bitch (1,0abs)
1st - Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Supertramp - Sister to last class winner, red brindle with another pretty head - proportionally correct skull, correct dark eye, and ear placement. Adequate length of neck, fore chest better than her sisters, nice depth of rib, and correct length of loin. Moved well.
Postgraduate Bitch (2,0abs)
1st – Percy’s Ariom Calypso Dancer with Winetta - Such a feminine head, nicely proportioned, excellent stop, strong muzzle, dentition, large teeth with correct scissor bite. Dark almond shaped eyes give the most appealing, yet cheeky expression. Excellent forequarters and fore chest. Correct ribcage allowed free movement holds level topline, and her rear angulations nicely balanced and well-muscled, allowing drive from the rear. Correct tail set and full harsh coat finished the picture. Such a show off, and so in tune with her handler. Pleased to award her BCC.
2nd – Clarke’s Furythor Born to Sparkle by Lentrica – Dark brindle with pretty, well furnished head. Last saw her as a puppy, has grown nicely, angulations balanced, but shape of ribcage not as good as 1, and holding a little too much weight on her shoulder area, however moved steadily and showed well.
Limit Bitch (2,0abs)
1st – Griffith’s You’re So Bossy Seglavi with Wonderpaws (IMP POL) - Red, has a well-furnished head with dark points. Good length of neck flows into good shoulder placement. Height in proportion to length, holds a level topline on the move - tail set ok. Lacked a little enthusiasm on the move.
2nd – Wrights’ Brenndarcy Spellbinder for Glennmonte Wheaten with dark ears – overall smaller than 1, and a little narrower throughout. Nice length of neck, balance ok, moved ok, would prefer more space in the rear. Good tail set held correctly.
Open Bitch (4,1abs)
1st – C & L Saichs’ Lindcoly Picture Perfect Dark brindle - Nothing is overdone with this girl, and a lot to like. She has a pretty feminine head with correct dark almond shaped eye, nice large teeth, and correct bite. Neck flows into nice shoulder placement and correctly balanced angulations. Correct ribcage, and length of loin in proportion. Excelled in movement as moved freely, effortlessly covering the ground. Pushed hard for top honours but just couldn’t match the CC winners sparkle - pleased to award her RBCC.
2nd – Felters & Rumens’ CH Landbuck Amethyst – Another nice girl, who pushed hard for 1st place. Red brindle, with well furnished. feminine head, nice length of neck. Shoulder placement and front angulations good. Slightly shorter in length than 1, Very showy, and shown in full coat.
