Nicely proportioned head with strong jaw and good dentition, dark eye and well-set ears framing his face. Strong, arched neck flowing into a well-angled shoulder assembly. Excellent bone and compact, arched feet. Good length-to-height proportions, firm topline and ribs extending well back into a short, strong loin. Well-turned stifles and strong hocks. Moved with a spring in his step.


Class 909 VD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 - a lovely trio of veterans in this class! 

1st: 1736 ROBERTS, Mr D Ch Swansford Gabrieldor - Impressive red male, eight years young and very much in his prime. Well-proportioned head with powerful jaws and excellent dentition, dark oval eyes full of confidence and well-set ears framing his handsome face. Carries his head proudly and presents a balanced outline, both standing and on the move. Muscular, clean arched neck blending smoothly into a well-constructed front, with well-laid shoulders, equal return of upper arm, plenty of forechest and a deep ribcage extending well back. Elbows close to the body, with ample bone and compact feet. Firm topline and gradual underline into a short, powerful loin. Well-angled, muscular rear which he uses to advantage on the move. Moves straight in all directions, holding his outline throughout, with a free-flowing, ground-covering stride in profile. Delighted to award him Best Dog and Best of Breed, see him shortlisted in the Hound Group, and later take the top spot in a hotly contested Veteran Hound Group. Congratulations!

2nd: 1728 PASKINS, Mr K & Mrs S Cedavoch Its Taboo At Kindeace VW - Nine-year-old red male whom I have judged before and thought highly of. A typical example, balanced and without exaggeration. Masculine head with dark eye, strong muzzle and correctly set ears. Well angled fore and aft with good substance throughout. Particularly pleasing through the body, with a well-developed keel and deep ribcage carried well back, giving a gradual underline into a short, strong loin. Firm, level topline. Powerful, well-angled hindquarters with low-set hocks, which he uses to advantage to provide drive. Moved freely and true in all directions, maintaining his outline on the move.

3rd: 1729 PASKINS, Mr K & Mrs S Kindeace Texas Ranger ShCEx - a lovely red male completing the trio.

Deep and well ribbed, with the ribcage carried well back and keel extending well back, firm topline and pleasing underline, short, strong loin. Balanced hindquarters with well-turned stifles and short, strong hocks. Moved true coming and going, with a balanced stride in profile.

Well-proportioned head with long, strong jaws, correctly shaped dark eye and well-set ears framing the face. Clean, muscular neck, slightly arched and flowing smoothly into well-laid shoulders with good return of upper arm. Deep, oval thorax with prominent forechest, excellent bone and compact, well-arched feet. Ribcage long and well developed, with a deep keel extending well back and blending into a short, strong loin. Correct tail set. Broad, well-muscled thighs, well-turned stifles and short, hocks. Moved true coming and going, with a free, flowing stride in profile.

2nd: 1731 PASKINS, Mr K & Mrs S Delsaux Life Goes On At Kindeace - Another pleasing male, half-brother to my 1st, both being sired by my 2nd in the Veteran class. The family resemblance was evident, with both sons displaying many of their sire’s qualities. Well balanced and without exaggeration, although I preferred the head of 1st. Dark, almond-shaped eye and strong, arched neck. Balanced angulation fore and aft, with excellent bone and compact feet. Long, well-shaped ribcage carried well back into a short, strong loin. Well-muscled hindquarters. Moved freely with a long, flowing stride in profile.

Masculine, well-proportioned head with strength through the muzzle, kind, dark almond-shaped eye and well-set ears. Muscular, arched neck flowing into a well-constructed front, with well-laid shoulders and equal return of upper arm. Deep, oval thorax, elbows held close to the body, excellent bone and compact, arched feet. Shown in good coat and condition. Deep keel extending well back, with a firm, level topline and ribs carried well back into a short, strong loin. Correct tail set. Good width through first and second thigh, with strong, short, parallel hocks. Moved soundly and freely in all directions to take Reserve Best Dog. Congratulations!

Strong, arched neck flowing smoothly into a well-constructed front, with well-filled forechest, deep thorax and ample heart room. Good bone. Long, well-shaped ribcage, with good depth and ribs carried well back towards a strong loin. Well-muscled hindquarters with balanced angulation. Moved freely and purposefully, remaining true coming and going and retaining her balanced outline in profile.

Well balanced and proportioned throughout, with a feminine, conical-shaped head, deep, strong jaws and dark almond-shaped eye. Muscular, arched neck flowing into a well-angled front assembly, with forelegs placed well under the body and elbows held close. Good bone and compact feet. Firm topline with a pleasing underline. Well-angled hindquarters with well-turned stifles and short, parallel hocks. Moved freely and with purpose, showing both reach and drive.
