1st – 4750 Davies's Stanegate Sweetest Thing at Shelseivad

Dog of pleasing breed type, presenting the smart upstanding cob-like outline called for. Skull of good size and high in dome, long deep muzzle, and characteristic top-knot of long loose curls falling forward to the eyes. Long low-set ears covered with twisted curls, hanging close to the cheeks. Strong arched neck of good length flowing into powerful, sloping shoulders, deep chest, ribs well-sprung and barrel-shaped, short, wide, muscular loin, and powerful well-muscled quarters with stifles moderately bent and hocks low-set. Coat of dense tight ringlets of correct natural oily texture, with smooth rat-tail set low and carried correctly. Wonderfully exuberant despite the warmth of the day — his bouncing enthusiasm in the ring couldn't help but make me smile, and is exactly the racy, gamesome character the breed standard so charmingly describes. PGD 1

Class 1717. Limit Dog (Entries 1, Absentees 0)

1st – 4747 Bradley's Nyllaup Oregon Sunstone

Dog of correct type and substance. Skull of good size and high in dome, long deep muzzle, and characteristic top-knot. Long low-set ears well-covered with twisted curls, hanging close to the cheeks. Strong arched neck of good length running into powerful, sloping shoulders, deep chest, well-sprung ribs, short, wide, muscular loin, and powerful well-muscled quarters with stifles moderately bent and hocks low-set. Coat of dense tight ringlets of correct natural oily texture, smooth rat-tail set low and carried correctly. Moved with the characteristic rolling gait. Suffered from the uneven ground in the ring today but with quality in spades and I am sure has a bright future. LD 1, RBD

Class 1718. Open Dog (Entries 1, Absentees 0)

1st – 4754 Latheron & Trenchard's Sh Ch Fynder Reacher ShCEx

A dog with so much to like — a real Irish Water Spaniel of substance and quality. Slightly on the larger side but everything in proportion and nothing exaggerated, presenting the smart upstanding cob-like outline the standard demands. Distinctive head with skull of good size and high in dome, long deep muzzle somewhat square in appearance, and the kind, intelligent expression typical of the breed enhanced by his characteristic top-knot of long loose curls falling forward to the eyes. Long low-set ears covered with twisted curls, hanging close to the cheeks. Strong arched neck of good length flowing into powerful, sloping shoulders, deep chest, ribs well-sprung, barrel-shaped and carried well back, short, wide, muscular loin, and powerful well-muscled quarters with stifles moderately bent and hocks low-set. Coat of dense tight ringlets of correct natural oily texture covering body and legs, with the smooth rat-tail set low and carried correctly. Moved with the characteristic rolling gait the breed is known for. OD 1, BD, BOB

Bitch of pleasing breed type. Feminine head with skull of good size and high in dome, and characteristic top-knot of long loose curls falling forward. Long low-set ears covered with twisted curls. Arched neck of good length flowing into powerful, sloping shoulders, deep chest, well-sprung ribs, short, wide, muscular loin, and powerful well-muscled quarters with stifles moderately bent and hocks low-set. Coat of dense tight ringlets of correct natural oily texture, smooth rat-tail set low and carried correctly. Moved soundly. LB 1, RBB

Class 1724. Open Bitch (Entries 3, Absentees 1)

1st – 4756 Stirk's Nyllaup Akoya Pearl for Grakar JW

Beautifully correct young bitch who hotly contested top honours and pushed my BD all the way. Feminine head with skull of good size and high in dome, long deep muzzle, and the kind, intelligent expression so typical of the breed, complete with characteristic top-knot. Long low-set ears well-covered with twisted curls. Arched neck of good length flowing into powerful, sloping shoulders, presenting a smart upstanding cob-like outline with deep chest, well-sprung ribs, short, wide, muscular loin, and powerful well-muscled quarters with stifles moderately bent and hocks low-set. Coat of dense tight ringlets of correct natural oily texture, smooth rat-tail set low and carried correctly. Just moved a little sidewards on occasion today, which I felt was perhaps the heat of the day catching her — she is young and will most certainly have a promising future. OB 1, BB

2nd – 4748 Bradley's Sh Ch Stanegate Stage Debut (ai) ShCEx

Bitch of correct breed type and presentation. Feminine head with skull of good size and high in dome, characteristic top-knot, long low-set ears covered with twisted curls. Arched neck of good length, powerful sloping shoulders, deep chest, short, wide, muscular loin, and powerful well-muscled quarters. Coat of dense tight ringlets of correct natural oily texture, smooth rat-tail set low and carried correctly. Moved soundly again another dog with a beautiful dense coat who at times I felt the heat possibly stole the shine from. OB 2
