Midland Counties Canine Society

I would like to thank Midland counties for the invitation to judge at their show and for the great hospitality.

My 2 stewards Linda and Chris Pack, you make it flow so well.

Thank you mostly to the exhibitors who trusted me to go over their dogs, and accepted my decisions in a sporting manner.

Its been several years since i last judged this size and i was pleasantly surprised at the overall quality, sadly there was 1 with a terrible undershot mouth, and as a breed that should work i feel this is a big no no.  The open classes were a headache but you have to judge the dogs on the day.

1st Place 4232 - Jasenak Royal Whisper at Sarnia (Imp Srb) (Miss S J O'higgins)

10 month old black but still quite immature, of a lovely make and shape, beautiful head and small dark eye, correct tail set and carriage, showed himself well although a bit exuberant, personally he for a male is a bit too refined for me but never the less a quality animal. presented in first class order. BPD

2nd Place 4226 - Altalune Mack The Knife (Miss K A Mccracken)

9 month black who is well constructed, decent head, good dentition, moved ok but sadly his tail carriage ruins his overall picture.

Class 1357. Junior Dog

Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st Place 4228 - Afterglow Amadeus (Miss C Mitchell)

Another black at 16months, his construction is great with a lovely depth of chest, correct head proportion with a wicked poodley eye, moves out with great reach and drive whilst being sound on the out and back, presentation by the young girl and her handling skills are great, i did consider him for the res cc but couldn't match the maturity of the 2nd in open. i wish them well for what i feel will be a good future.

2nd Place 4240 - Kamarri Step Ahead (Miss L Stephen)

I really liked this boy, very mature looking and he to is well constructed, he is very well schooled and steady on the move, a truly honest male but didn't have the overall pizzaz of the winner.

Class 1358. Yearling Dog

1st Place 4199 - Exalon Moonlight Maestro (Miss L S Davies)

14 month and this time in white, well put together with a good rib, both spring and depth, correct angles which made him present a lovely shape, very pretty head and well presented. To be super critical i would like more body weight, but he is young so i'm sure this will come, sound mover.

2nd Place 4242 - Tafari Odin The Raven God (Miss C L Thomas)

This boy presented a nice shape to, his correct confirmation an excellent head with a lovely chin, bit erratic on the move and his tail carriage was not for me.

3rd Place 4239 - Dolce Vaquero Very Irresistible Givenchy for Rapionce (Imp Fra) (Mrs J Smith)

Class 1359. Post Graduate Dog

Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st Place 4230 - Viadua Stratus Nebulosus (Miss M Moulding)

2yr old male in a shorter trim, very pretty head, sound on the move, i would like more spring of rib although he did have depth, a sound happy mover.

1st Place 4225 - Exalon Dangerous Moonlight over Dageo (Mr D M & Mrs G Marflitt)

A very well constructed boy with good angels front and back, lovely head and eye, a strong long neck, moved well enough. In good presentation, one i would like to see when mature, his future is assured.

2nd Place 4235 - Viadua Virtue of Triton (Miss G Penkethman)

Another really smart dog who again was well made all though, lovely head and eye, sound moving just a tad longer in the  back than the winner.

3rd Place 4216 - Highla Dream Master (Mrs C M & Mr A B Hardy)

Reserve (4th Place) 4238 - Sterlingway Gone Viral with Cwmhaven (Miss L Samons)

Oh my what a class this was, i would of happily signed a cc for all 5 placed but decisions have to be made.

1st Place 4214 - Ch Afterglow Voltaire (Mrs M, Mr J & Mr T Galloway, Lynn & Isherwood)

This young dog is world class, not yet at his full maturity but is so well schooled and obviously well exercised! Everything about him was perfect, from his construction through to his well proportioned head. He just screams poodle and totally comes alive on the move, foot perfect and able to free stand without being pulled into shape, a stallion of a dog, just loved him, Presentation was first class as you would expect from this kennel. A pleasure to judge him i wish him well for what should be an exciting future. my DCC and BOB and delighted to see him shortlisted in the group.

2nd Place 4191 - Ch Sculbrook Raising The Odds JW (Miss Fa & Mrs Ca Brook)

This almost 5year old boy was my best puppy last time i judged, was delighted to see him here today, he has certainly full filled his early promise, such a well constructed strong dog who is all male, beautiful head without being coarse, sound and positive on the move, i was told after judging that this was to be his last show. My res cc

Reserve (4th Place) 4205 - Ch Royaldeniz Superwolverine JW (Miss R Downes)

1st Place 4195 - Jaspalie Ghost (Mrs G Coates)

I always admired this boy when he was younger and was pleased to see him today, expertly handled. so sound in body and on the move, beautiful head and a lovely clean mouth for his age, he looked so smart in his cut down trim. BVIB

2nd Place 4231 - Magin Blowing A Gayle (Mr J & Mrs M Munro)

Happy boy enjoying his time in the ring, in good condition but a tad narrow for my preferance.

1st Place 4238 - Sterlingway Gone Viral with Cwmhaven (Miss L Samons)

This boy was a respectable 4th in limit he is a sound boy and a happy mover, nice head and good pigment.

2nd Place 4190 - Moienstar Rewrite The Stars (Mrs M J Bloomfield)

Lovely silver boy but a bit unsteady on the move today, well put together and a beautiful head, could do with his trim being tighter to enhance his shape.

3rd Place 4230 - Viadua Stratus Nebulosus (Miss M Moulding)

Reserve (4th Place) 4239 - Dolce Vaquero Very Irresistible Givenchy for Rapionce (Imp Fra) (Mrs J Smith)

1st Place 4218 - Magaro Megan for Styleinart JW (Imp Esp) (Mr D-J Harry)

If you told me before i stepped into the ring this bitch would be in my principal winners i would have said no. Well just goes to show you shouldn't ringside judge, this girl is so well put together, has a excellent rib and her angles are spot on, she cannot stand wrong and possesses a lovely picture when free stacked, her head is so pretty with a good chin, but its on the move she truly comes alive with such style and grace, my eyes kept being drawn to her, her presentation was excellent showing her fabulous construction on her shorter tighter trim which she suits so much. RES BCC BEST SPECIAL BEGINNER

1st Place 4223 - Jasenak Red Carpet Girl at Viadua (Imp Srb) (Mrs A Kumar)

What a beautiful puppy whom in my opinion will wear her crown, she is so very well constructed with good angles and a correct depth of chest, stunning head and eye and oh so poodley expression. she totally looked down her nose at me! Her presentation was excellent and enhanced her wonderful shape, she was very sound on the move. I did consider her in my mind for the res cc but she was still very puppy like but her future is assured, BP delighted she went PG4

2nd Place 4224 - Afterglow Abilene (Mr J & Ms M Lynn & Smith)

2nd Place 4237 - Tafari The Shadow Khaleesi under Druavella JW (Mr C & Mrs J Rumming)

Smaller bitch than one, nice quality all through, pretty head and sound on the move, lacking in neck hair which ruins her outline. a decent girl who should always place well.

Any of my first placings i would happily sign a cc for, the quality was first class but most were very different and on another day they could change places and i'm sure other judges would prefer the opposite to me, no one was disgraced in this class and it was a headache but a pleasure to judge such a wonderful class. THANK YOU

1st Place 4202 - Kertellas Diamond Sky at Labamba JW (Mrs S M & Mr A P R Dennison & Hoblin)

Another one if you told me i would place this well i wouldn't have believed you! This girl has been a monkey in the past with poking on the move, well today she was a totally different dog! she has everything a honest dog should have, well angelled front and rear, excellent ribs both spring and depth, square compact body, great tail set and carriage, she posses a lovely head and eye and her presentation created a perfect picture, on the move she was so sound on the down and back.  I had no hesitation in awarding her the BCC which i believe gave her her much deserved crown. so glad she got herself together.

2nd Place 4229 - Onyx Demolition Through Ataraksia (Miss R & Miss S Moores & Speakman)
