Welsh Springer Spaniel Club Of South Wales

Breed: Spaniel (Welsh Springer)

Thanks to the Officers an committee for the invite to judge this friendly show, my thanks also to the exhibitors for their entries.

Just some things to note, I did find a couple of iffy mouths, temperament on the whole was good,  presentation overall was excellent  and I  finished the day with clean hands.  Please those of you that were struggling with handling do not be afraid to ask for help.

Veteran bitch (4, 0 abs)

Lovely class to start the day

1st BVB, BVIS and RCC Waller's Isfryn Lady Godiva At Fireglow JW VW 9yrs young, she has a lovely shape to her with a classic head and expression, good shoulders, correct topline held on the move, ample bone and shown in tip top condition. Today she moved really well to win this class over another favourite of mine and to take the RCC.

2nd Reynolds & McIlwaine Benoveor Can't Buy Me Love another bitch I have done well for previously, now 8 yrs but another shown in tip top condition and handled to advantage. Love her head, super eye and another with the super movement.  This girl is looking so well and unfortunate to meet one today.

3rd Caldwell's Hillpark Queen Bee For Cerysan AWB

Baby Puppy Bitch (1, 0)

1st Caldwell's Hillpark Painted Lady fell hook, line and sinker for this lovely baby, handled the ring and being gone over with a super wagging tail, 5 months old she has super bone and good feet, good dentition and such a pretty head. Loved her temperament and moved so well for one so young. Will watch her with interest.

Minor Puppy Bitch (1, 0)

1st BPB Harrison's Glenbrows Symphony little bit lacking in confidence but did enough to go BPB and RBPIS. Moved ok when she settled but not really liking this hall or floor.

Puppy Bitch (4, 0)

Not an easy class, none of these pups were settled enough on the move to really assess properly

1st G Symphony

2nd Morgan's Rubydown Summer Joy 10 months found her a little overdone in head for me, ample bone, good feet, when stacked she has a lovely shape, just needs to settle on the move.

3rd Attwood's Roxdale Wispa By Kylowen

Junior Bitch (4, 1)

1st Ayres Glenbrows Asha 14 months, won this class on her movement, she has a good front with decent feet, would like to see her carry more weight to advantage.

2nd Wallace's Amblelight Meadow Orchid 13 months very naughty girl on the move and very hard to assess, she has a lovely head and a good shape but throws it all away when asked to move.

3rd Perkins Luneville Water Iris At Kiwidraig

Novice Bitch (4, 1)

1st G Asha

2nd A Meadow Orchid

3rd L Water Iris At Kiwidraig

Graduate Bitch (3, 0)

1st Lockie's Gwirgariad Shooting Star another that won this class on her movement, quite a big girl and slightly long, she has an ok head, good reach of neck into decent shoulders, with adequate angulation to the rear.

2nd Lamport & Lamport's Glenbrows Hopefulness not a bad shape on this lass, slightly upright in shoulder which showed on the move, she has a super soft expression, ok head, good reach of neck, stood on ample bone and decent feet, dentition good.

3rd Best's Amblelight Jasmine At Evangelise

Post Graduate Bitch (3, 0)

1st Smith's Nyliram Hold My Hand At Isfryn this bitch has matured so well since I judged her as a very raw puppy, loved her head and her super temperament, not an easy bitch to handle as she is so exuberant, but when settled she moves well covering the ground.

2nd Cochrane's Eiriandylis Confusion like this girl a lot, just didn't show to her best today. Love her head and expression, good bone and tight feet, super shoulders and shape, ample angulation, moved a little bit erratic.

3rd A Jasmine At Evangelise

Limit Bitch (@5, 2)

1st Tew's Pamick's Dream With Me another that I have watched mature well, she has a super head and eye, clean neck into good shoulders, correct topline, ample bone and super feet, gave her handler a bit of a hard time today but settled enough to win this class

2nd Blackford's Amblelight Adhara JW another bitch that I like, very different to 1 but pushed really hard, she has a classic shape stood on good bone and lovely feet, correct height to length, moved ok

3rd Lockie's Benoveor Truly To Gwirgariad

Open Bitch (6, 4)

1st CC and RBIS Graham's Sh Ch Nyliram The Moth Catcher JW lovely shape on this bitch, she is of the correct height to length ratio, good reach of neck, super shoulders, correct topline, ample turn of stifle, stood on good feet. On the move she is so true and love her attitude, moved well covering the ground with reach and drive.

2nd Lewin's Sh Ch Santallina Olympic Flame Over Vynesbrook another out of the top drawer, today she just didn't like the venue and didn't give it her all, love everything about her just a shame she wasn't happy on the day.

Special Beginners Bitch (2, 0)

1st L Water Iris At Kiwidraig 11 months who needs a little bit of ring training, she is quite slight at the moment and would benefit from a little more weight, when she did settle for the short length of time she moved ok

2nd A Jasmine At Evangelise this is such a nice bitch but really does give her handler the hardest of times, very hard to assess with her jumping up and grabbing handler's clothes.
