Many thanks to Darlington Dog Show Committee for their invitation to judge GSPs.

It is always an honour to judge and I greatly appreciate exhibitors for their entries, especially as showing has become such an expensive hobby.

1st Mann’s Sh Ch Elfrindew Endrick To Valger Shcex

Just 7 years old L/W, in great fit hard condition and of great breed type. Lovely head with dark eyes, neck long leading into well angulated front, deep in brisket, firm correct top line with strong muscled hind quarters, moved well to take the RCC & BV.

2nd Schoneville’s Sh Ch Balvenie Double Diamond JW, another fit 7yr old L/W. Pleasing head, good length of neck , body deep, he is balanced all through but not the angulation of the winner, moved well.

1st Ellis’s Soellis Coy Roy

Lovely quality puppy of great breed type, just 7 mths old and looking very much a baby.

Loved his head with such a kind gentle expression,nicely angled front and rear, lovely bone and feet, good coat, moved well.

1st Stayley’s Jomeel Quicksilver 

Just shy of 12 months old, dark L/W with a super coarse coat. Still some maturing to do as one would expect. Lovely balanced head with good length of foreface showing a gentle rise to nasal bone, eyes darkening nicely. Good front,short level back with a strong rear. Plays his handler up sometimes so not always standing as well as he can, but makes up for that on the move with correct footfall coming and going BP 

2nd Harris’s De Lombardie Spirit of Barleyarch (Can Imp) 

Mature looking 9 mth old puppy, who shows so well for his age. Smaller type,pleasing in head,long arched neck leading into good shoulders, body is very deep with moderate rear angulation,moved ok. Preferred the course coat and front movement of my winner.

1st Shepherd’s Orchidstar Platinum Strike

3yr old L/W, a leaner racier type of dog, head on the plain side, decent length of neck and good front. Needs more fill over the loin,moderately angled rear,stands on good feet and has a good coat ,showed well.

1st Rusk’s ValgerTuxedo At Booton

A lovely honest GSP of med size, not over done in anyway. Head is balanced with good length of foreface ,eyes are dark. Neck is long leading into decent shoulders,body is deep with a good topline and tailset,good strong quarters with lovely width across his thigh. He is very sound on the move with good footfall, he moved steadily & carefully with his handler.

2nd Angus’s Keigame Hvitserk of Sparkenhoe 

Another very sound honest GSP, he has a lovely head with dark eyes, neck is of good length leading into good shoulders,just starting to look a little round through the middle, still holds a good topline with a lovely turn of stifle. Sound on the move with great footfall coming and going.

1st Dorn’s Sh Ch Valger Tennessee

A dog combining substance with quality who excels in breed type, looked stunning in profile & was just what I was looking for. Gorgeous head that is balanced with good length of foreface,eyes are dark,ears correct size and lay close to his head. Neck is clean and of good length, shoulders well laid back with good length of upper arm,great depth through brisket and strong over loin,excellent topline and tailset, his quarters are well angulated with great width of thigh. A powerful dog on the move who needed a couple of laps of the ring to settle into his stride and move freely with his handler.Once settled he showed good footfall and great reach and drive in profile. Delighted to award him the CC & BOB.

2nd Brown & Burns Sh Ch Magregor Four Letter Word For Pothouse JW 

Lovely young L/w dog of med size, decent head,clean neck and well angled front ,good spring of rib & depth of brisket, has the right amount of rear angulation. Lovely course coat, moves very soundly.

3rd Sielski’s Sh Ch Orchidstar Bolts of Speed

1st Harvey’s Imaniz Fine Fettle 

7yr old L/w looking really good for her age,as did all three of these lovely girls.

Lovely head with the darkest of eyes,neck is long, balanced angulation for & aft,body deep. Coat is course,neat feet and was the best mover out of the three.

2nd Pearson’s Sh Ch Ladyhawke Dizzy Miss Lizzy 

9 years old L/w looking really good for her age, looks lovely in profile and very well balanced.

I just preferred the head of my winner.

Just 6 mths old, lovely dark L/w who showed and moved so well for age.

Decent angled front and rear,just needs time to come together and deepen in body.

Loved how confident and happy she was at her first show.

1st Hills Orchidstar Ruby Sunday 

Smart L/w 15 mths old with a lovely dark coat, up to size and needs to mature.

Head is pleasing, eyes still to darken,good front and topline,with moderate rear angulation. Moved well with precise footfall.

1st Joy’s Seasham Thrill Me at Mannlicher JW

Loved the outline on this young bitch,such lovely overall balance and quality of type.

Beautiful feminine head,good length and depth to muzzle with dark eyes. Lengthy neck which flows into her firm level topline,tail set is correct, good depth for her age with a nice spring of rib,balanced angulation for and aft. Her coat is tight and course to the touch. Bit bouncy on the move to start with but once settled she moved well. Delighted to award her,her first CC ,just missed out to the dog for BOB on maturity.

2nd Angus’s Edelmidpoint Silhouette For Sparkenhoe JW

Such an honest bitch,more workmanlike but still feminine. Beautiful head with the darkest of eyes which gives her a melting expression. Well angulated front, her body is deep,she is a little longer in back, but is no way weak, moderately angled rear with good muscle tone. Her B/W coat is coarse to the touch, moved well .

1st Dodds Lagopusmoor Black Mandala on Elfrindew 

Solid black 3 yr old who looks lovely in profile, so well balanced. Lovely head with the darkest of eyes, strong neck flowing into a firm topline, good depth and forechest. Strong hindquarters which are well muscled, lovely bone and feet, moved well. Would prefer a harsher coat.

2nd Garvey’s Richtig Ragdoll JW

Sturdy yet elegant 5 yr old bitch, stronger in head but balanced with lovely dark eyes.

Decent length of neck, good depth and development of forechest,well sprung ribs and nicely boned legs with good feet, coat harsh to the touch ,moved out well.

1st Angus’s Keigame Hearts Desires Of Sparkenhoe JW

Judged her before and gave her the RCC, was so pleased to be able to judge her again.

Love her overall balance giving that typical outline, beautiful feminine head with good length of foreface ,eyes are dark giving her a kind gentle expression. Clean neck into neat shoulders, she has good depth and length of rib,her quarters are strong and well angulated. Good on the move with great rear action. Excellent coat, showed so well in her class that I thought she would be my cc winner, but unfortunately in the challenge she just wasn’t playing ball and had to settle again for the RCC.

2nd Adams Sh Ch Keigame Mystique Aurora JW

A 2 yr old L/w bitch of great breed type, beautiful head so well balanced with dark eyes.

Her neck is clean and long, well angulated for & aft . Sadly she was carrying far too much weight today which took away her chance for top honours, such a shame as I really like her, she still moved with precise footfall.

3rd Bunker’s Sh Ch It Ch Winterwell Little Itch At Karitagan
