Three Counties Agricultural Society

Breed: Bedlington Terrier

I had a lovely day spent judging quality Bedlingtons in the sunshine at this, one of my favourite shows.

My thanks go to the committee for the invitation and to the exhibitors—every one of whom was present—for accepting my decisions in such good spirit.

Puppy Dog (1/0)

1ST 2484 - Mickleview Fly High at Yarbach (Mrs L Butler). 9mnths blue puppy who presented a very balanced outline from his profuse pale topknot, through a good length of neck, lay of shoulder and return of upper arm to his correct topline and good rear angulation. Chest yet to drop. Correct low tailset. Strong head of good length and enough underjaw. Clean through the cheek and dark eye. Leathers of correct filbert shape; set well and thin, carried close to cheek. Good mouth. Movement needs to settle. A promising young lad with lots to like.

Junior Dog (1/0)

1ST 2484 - Mickleview Fly High at Yarbach (Mrs L Butler) – As above.

Post Graduate Dog (2/0)

1ST 2496 - Mickleview Harvest Moon (Mrs E & Mr W Scott) – 19mnths blue. Up to size but very balanced lad. Scored highly for me on front angulation with excellent length of neck, lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Correct topline and low tailset. Might prefer a little more depth of brisket. Excellent horseshoe front and clean through the shoulder. Good hare foot. His head has good length and fill under the eye. Good mouth. Thin ears, held close to cheek. Moved well both ways, showing typical springy action in profile, holding his topline. RBD.

2ND 2495 - Ratzwell Bring Me Sunshine (Mrs Ad Poultney) – 13mnths blue. Another smart boy with good balance, but not quite the front angulation of 1 and a shade longer. Might prefer a little more depth in brisket. Scored in strong head, with good muzzle, plenty under the eye and excellent large teeth. Moved out well.

Open Dog (3/0)

1ST 2485 - Sharnor Sultan of Spica (Mrs J & Mrs C Fletcher) – 2yrs. Quality boy of good size and type. Correct impression of hind legs being slightly longer than front, showing good flexibility. Good length of neck into good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Might prefer a little more depth of brisket. Strong loin with good tuck-up and well-muscled quarters. Excellent horseshoe front with clean shoulders. Impressed with his super head showing length and strength; minimal stop, clean through the cheek, plenty of underjaw, dark eye and thin ears, set close to cheek. Large teeth. Moved out well, just carrying his tail up a little. In good linty coat. Presented and handled very well. BD and RBOB

2ND 2490 - Bisbee Bulldozer with Tessarion (Mrs J & Mr R Lowe) – 3yrs Smart lad with a lovely front; long neck into very good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm – again, could have a little more depth in brisket. Moderate rear angulation. Good length of head and depth of muzzle with dark eye and thin, well-set ears. Not quite so clean through the cheek as 1. Moved out well.

3RD 2494 - Jobanker Rocky Road (Mrs Ad Poultney)
