ENGLISH TOY TERRIER (BLACK AND TAN)
A nice entry with some quality ETTs. Not the best climate to start with but we ended the day in beautiful sun which suited the bitches. I found no recurring faults and temperments were superb.

1. Francis/Blatchford’s Ch. Witchstone Not Apache On Me for Peopleton VW. Pleasing start to the day with this handsome veteran male. I have judged him before on a number of occasions. Interestingly I note that he is the sire of my DCC winner and has clearly passed on many of his qualities to his son. This male is very pleasing with regard to his headpiece. He has good length of skull and his skull is clean back through the back skull. Correct slight stop. Pleasing small eye of correct shape and correctly set into the skull. Typical ears which are of correct size and placed high on the skull. Lovely long well muscled neck into good shoulders. Good bone and feet. Correct top-line. Good depth to his chest and his ribs are well sprung. He is nicely angulated in the rear. Carries his tail correctly on the move, which is something I require from all bar puppies. For me is big enough and I have criticised him here in the past but the overall picture is that of a handsome correctly made English Toy Terrier. His front action is textbook and his overall colour for his age is excellent, BV.
2. Howard’s Lasagesse Supersonic. Another nice example of the breed. Not enjoying the weather that we experienced at the beginning of the entry which was not ideal. This dog is better for size than the winner however I preferred the winner for his overall length of head and expression. This dog has good length of neck which is correctly arched into excellent shoulder placement. His top-line and underline are correct. Narrow through the chest he is deep with well sprung rib. Strong muscular loin. Good hind angulation and his hocks are well let down. Nice well arched foot. Tail carried correctly on the move. Moved well in profile although could be a little tidier in hind action.

1. Pendlebury’s Ettology Stand and Deliver. A very raw young male that has some lot maturing to do. However he has many qualities. Exhibits he has a very good headpiece which is of good length and without any evidence of cheekiness. Clean back skull and correct overall head proportions with nice eye which is well placed and dark. Correct ear size and placement. Good front assembly although needs to drop into himself. Good deep tan, correct thumb prints, well marked through with no evidence of breaching. In good coat. Moved a little erratically at first but settled into his stride and has a nice front action, BP.

1. Pendlebury’s Ettology Stand and Deliver. Winner of MPD.
2. Dowson/Ramsden/Kagzi’s Pallisandre Vegas Lights. A little bigger and longer cast than the first placed dog, although this dog has many qualities. He has good length of head, skull is flat and his ears are well placed and he has a nice eye. Correct wedge to his foreface although I would like his muzzle bridge a little more level. Good front assembly. Top-line is correct and not overdone. Well rounded loin. Nicely angulated rear. Of good colour and in good hard muscular condition. Moved ok.

1. Partington-Palmer/Palmer’s Winsome Flames Aussie Gold (imp SWE). This is a very nice junior dog that really attracted my attention. He, I note, is an import from Sweden and has a very international pedigree. I thought him quite lovely today. He has a beautiful corruptly shaped head of good length, is clean through the back skull. Beautiful eye which is correctly set and of lovely dark colour. Good strength to his foreface. Overall size and shape is pleasing. Lovely arched neck into well placed shoulders. Good bone and his feet are well arched and of the correct shape. He is well ribbed back and of good hind angulation. Moved well. In the challenge he pushed very hard for higher honours and was unlucky not to annex any higher honour. I really do like this dog and when he settles into himself and matures he should do well. I hate the phrase I wish I had more green cards but today I did despite his youth. Good luck.
2. Dixon’s Am Ch. Cottage Lakes Lasagesse American Pie (imp USA). I preferred this dog for his compactness and his super outline. He has good neck into excellent shoulders. His top-line flows through. He has a good tail set. His underline is correct. He has a good depth of chest and is well ribbed. This dog has a lovely hind angulation and is of good bone and feet. For me, I preferred the overall expression and length of head of the winner today. However, I shall watch this dog with interest.

1. Warren’s Rhymswell Fields of Gold. Young dog who pleased for his overall size and shape. Pleasing head, good eye and ear. Good front assembly. Well ribbed. Strong in the loin. Not in the best of jackets however today. Moved very well. If I were to be very critical for me personally I would like slightly more length to his tail for balance.

1. Thorne’s Ettology Mr Kipling Apple Pie at Winklefred. Nicely made male who gave his owner quite a hard time today. Difficult to assess on the table but comes to one piece when on the floor. Decent head of correct proportions and good eye of good dark colour and correctly set eye giving him the desired expression together with his correctly placed and sized ears. Nicely made through the neck and shoulder. For me, he was a little long cast and a little too racy rather than the compactness I was looking for today. Not in the best of jackets but in excellent muscled condition. Moved very well.

I found this a very difficult class to judge.
1. Roskell’s Witchstone Silent Wish with Rahima JW. Very pleasing dog who has many merits. He won here on his beautiful head and expression. He is very typically English Toy Terrier with good length of head which is narrow and correctly wedge shaped, no evidence of cheekiness here. Good strong underjaw. Correct stop. Good depth of chest and of well sprung rib. Strong in the loin. For me, I would like a little more turn of stifle. Good tight feet. Moved well. In super hard condition. 2. Howard’s Lasagesse Jumping Jack Flash. A bigger dog and a little less compact than 1. Lovely head and expression, good dark eye, good length of muscular neck which is well arched into nice shoulders. Good bone and feet, nice unexaggerated top-line, correct underline, carries his tail correctly on the move, moved well.3. Pendlebury’s Ettology Small Gods of Pendlethrine.

This was an excellent Open Dog class which was well filled and of quality. It was difficult to split the 1st and 2nd placed dogs who differ in type.
1. Leonard’s Witchstone Nasabe Strikes Back JW. This is a promising young 16 month old male of excellent breed type. When one looks at him he is clearly all English Toy Terrier. He has a very pleasing head which is of good length and has well placed correctly shapedears which face forward as desired. Keen dark eye obliquely set with good dark rim. Enough stop. Good underjaw. His neck flows into his shoulder placement well and his front assembly is excellent. He certainly pleased me for his compactness. Good depth of chest and well ribbed. Strong in the loin and well angulated rear. Of good colour although I would like some more definition to his thumb prints if I am really critiical. This dog really does excel on the move. Movement is a joy to watch, he really has that desired extended trot and he carries his tail as I would want him to. His hind action is smooth, precise and overall he holds his top-line on the move. I was pleased to give him this class and subsequently award him the DCC which I was led to believe later was his 2nd. I hope this dog attains his crown, he certainly deserves to do so.
2. Dixon’s Ch. Lasagesse Dazed N’confused JW. Different in type and with a beautiful head and expression. He has a beautiful eye and the best of ears. Good length to his head. Lovely through the front and good length of neck into well placed shoulders. Not as settled as the first placed dog and carried his tail a little high for me on the move. He is well constructed throughout, has excellent hindquarters, and is of the best of colours and markings. A very nice dog who richly deserves the title that he holds. Pleased to award him the RDCC.
3. Partington-Palmer/Palmer’s Etruria Hear The Word.

1. Phillips’ Ettology Worth The Wait. This young bitch is the definition of a naughty puppy but she is exquisitely quite typy. Good head of good length, lovely ears and well placed eye. Good length of neck which is elegant into good shoulders. Pleasing bone and good feet. Correct top-line. Tail set is correct. She really gave her handler a very hard time but could not be denied 1st place.
2. Ramsden/Kagzi’s Pallisandre Time To Dance. Very immature puppy that needs a lot time. Pleasing head and expression. Construction is good throughout. However does need to drop into herself and needs to put some weight on. This together with time will give her added advantage.

1. Marsden’s Regalriver Big Bad She Wolf. Of good type. Bigger than I would ideally want for a junior bitch. However she has a nice shape and is well angulated both at the front and rear. Pleasing head, good eye, correct ears. Won here on the depth of chest and spring of rib and more mature and finished than the second placed bitch. Good front and hind action.
2. Bailey/Hancocks’ Lasagesse Fire Woman. Very raw for her age and not quite as settled in front or behind. Pleasing head and expression. Good length of neck. Well placed shoulders. Not overdone in top-line. Correct tail set. Nicely angulated rear.

This was a good class.
1. Jackson’s Dandytweed Lily The Pink. Pleasing bitch for overall size, style and breed type. I thought her very elegant yet was compact and of enough substance for a bitch. Super head and expression, lovely neck into good shoulders. Pleasing overall front assembly. Has the correct top-line and tail set. Good underline. Well angulated rear. In good hard muscular condition. Has a very typical extended trot with no exaggeration.
2. Marsden’s Regalriver Big Bad She Wolf. Winner of junior.
3. Pendlebury’s Wykewoks Autumnal Sunsetta of Pendlethrine.

1. Hall/Oakden’s Sapwood Proud Mary with Ghilgrange JW. I really liked this 2 year old bitch who, for me, today, was completely on form. She has a good head which is long, narrow, correctly wedge shaped and well filled under the eye. She has well placed non prominent correctly shaped eyes and her expression is finished by typical shaped ear placed well up on the skull and close together. She is very elegant in her overall style and has a long graceful and well arched neck as required by the standard. She flows cleanly into her shoulders and her top-line is as required and non exaggerated. Well rounded loin, lovey hind angulation, correct bone for a bitch. Compact well arched foot. Carries her well set tail correctly on the move. I could not fault her on the move, moving with very typical gait and effortlessly. She is a good colour and in good hard condition. I really liked her and later in the morning had no hesitation in awarding her the BCC. Was pushed very hard by a very young and typical young male for BOB, she upped her game and put on a faultless performance. This, I believe, was her 2nd Challenge Certificate and I do hope her title is not far off.
2. Dicker’s Neerodan Thyme Bomb. Another nice bitch. Good type. Good size. Would prefer a fraction more length of neck which is where 1 scored over her. In good hard condition. Moved well.
3. Bailey/Hancocks’ Witchstone Silent Whisper.
OB 5(2)
This was a nice class to judge. Three good bitches, who in my opinion, are all worthy of carrying their title.
1. Love’s Lasagesse Whole Lotta Love with Tettoy JW. Very smart bitch of excellent quality. I liked her for size, compactness and overall shape and style. Excellent head with good length and clean in back skull. Nice well placed eye and correct ears. Excellent rib, good depth of chest, strong in the loin, well angulated rear. Moved effortlessly with ideal gait. Was unlucky to meet the Limit Bitch in the challenge. RBCC. I do hope she gains her crown.
2. Dixon’s Ch. Lasagesse Kashmir JW. Another very nice quality English Toy Terrier who is out of a bitch to whom I have awarded a CC previously. Not so happy on the table today but did pull herself together on the floor and moved with preciseness, effortlessness and excellent front action. I liked this bitch very much and she pushed the 1st placed bitch hard. She is different in type to 1 and I just preferred today the overall compactness of 1 who I see is indeed her litter sister. Clearly an impressive litter as the litter brother is my RDCC winner. Congratulations to the breeder.
3. Goodfellow’s Nasabe Royal Rose with Airambech.
