Northern Tibetan Spaniel Club

Breed: Tibetan Spaniel

Northern Tibetan Spaniel Club, Special Classes, Thursday 7th May 2026

I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to Judge the special classes at their show, along with my stewards for keeping the ring running smoothly and effectively. Of course, I thank the exhibitors who entered quality dogs and bitches for me to assess, they all took my decisions with good grace.

Special Award Junior Dog or Bitch

1 Cooper, Miss C L: Susu The Show Must Go On

A pretty, feminine bitch of good breed type. She has a well-balanced head with a slightly domed skull, moderate stop, and a correctly proportioned muzzle, giving the characteristic intelligent, alert expression called for in the breed standard. Correct bite. Well-balanced throughout, with a body slightly longer than height, good bone for her size, and a level topline. She carried her tail well over her back, complementing her overall outline. On the move she was free, straight and positive, covering the ground with ease while maintaining her balanced profile. A pleasing exhibit with many typical breed characteristics.

2 Lynch & Lemon Miss S & Mr R: Chelmeress’ Love Me Do at Oldcharm

A quality dog masculine without coarseness, with a well-balanced head and the characteristic intelligent, alert expression. Correct bite. Well-proportioned throughout, with a body slightly longer than height, level topline and good overall balance. Moved freely, straight and true, covering the ground with ease while maintaining his outline. A pleasing exhibit.

Correct bite and well-set ears, framing her head well. Presented in a good coat and shown in excellent condition. Well-balanced throughout with pleasing proportions and a level topline. Moved freely, straight and true, covering the ground with ease while maintaining her outline. She held herself well in the ring, showing confidence and style, making a very pleasing overall picture.

2 Abercrombie, Miss L: Souska Can We Talk to Tibwood

This is the second time I have had the opportunity to judge this boy, and he was much more settled today, allowing him to show himself to his best advantage. He has an attractive, masculine head with a slightly domed skull, defined stop and the typical intelligent, alert expression of the breed. Correct bite. His ears are correctly set and well feathered, framing the head nicely. Moderate bone with the characteristic slightly bowed forelegs, and well-laid shoulders contributing to a balanced outline. He moved freely and positively, maintaining a level topline and carrying himself with confidence. A pleasing dog who showed well today.
