Northern Boxer Club

Breed: Boxer

The Northern Boxer Club Championship Show.

Saturday the 11th of April, 2026.

My grateful thanks to the committee for the invite to judge at their championship show. A first ticket appointment in any breed is always a real pleasure, but to be invited by a breed club was just lovely. The committee were so welcoming and friendly, the exhibitors were the same, and there was a lot of quality throughout the entry.

A big Thank You to the very hard working steward.

I had a really lovely day with one of my very favourite breeds, and the effort made by everyone involved was greatly appreciated.

BABY PUPPY DOG.

1. BERWYNFA POLE POSITION. What a lovely start to the day with this one. Forward in development and all of a piece, he is a quite lovely prospect. Beautifully compact in shape and he is balanced all through. Obviously immature in head, but it's all there and he has a beautiful expression. Correct bite with excellent lip placement. Neck of correct length, is nicely arched and flows seamlessly into a very soundly made front assembly. Lovely round bone right to his neat feet. Topline smoothly slopes to a correct croup with ideal tailset. Rear also well made with lovely bone to his hocks. He moved soundly with ease and is an eyecatcher and a half. Smashing baby and will watch him with interest.

BABY PUPPY BITCH

1 and BBPIS. BERWYNFA TOOT DE SUITE. So nice to have another two lovely quality baby puppies to look at. The winner shares the same remarks as her brother and is equally as tidy. Another lovely quality head with a body that already has a super outline. Smashing quality bone with lovely feet and pasterns. Compact throughout, she has a very well made backend and in the challenge for BBPIS she edged her brother out the road with her more collected gait. Two crackers.

2. A'DIDDLE RESPECT FOR NEWLAITHE. Adorable baby, and another with a ton of promise. Ultra feminine in head and she has a lovely eye and expression. Her neck has a graceful arch to it and behind it she is as sound as a bell. Nowhere near as mature as the class winner, and she too is already very nice in outline and has balance throughout. Lovely temperament handling her surroundings with ease. Two delightful baby puppies with so much promise.

MINOR PUPPY DOG.

1. GEOVANIC BOXA PUNCH. Very tidy dark brindle and white baby with so much to like. Compact in shape and sharp in outline, he is really nicely balanced with not a hint of coarseness. Nicely balanced in head with very good muzzle to skull ratio. His ears are set correctly and of ideal size and shape. Bite correct, neat lip placement and evident chin. His neck is ideal for length, nicely arched and free of any throatiness. Front assembly is very good. Very good lay of shoulder with good return of upperarm and his prosternum is evident. Good development in chest, and his forelegs are nicely boned and perfectly straight. I'd prefer slightly neater feet. His topline is bang on static, with excellent croup and tailset. His ribs are carried well back and his loin is lovely and short. Quarters nicely angled and he is very good in hock. He moves as a baby should, but he holds his shape very well and I liked him enough to keep in final 4 for CC. Excellent temperament, he was very well presented, and he has a lot of promise. BPD and BPIS.

2. WINUWUK AINT NO SUNSHINE. Totally different type to the winner, and an interesting prospect. At the moment not quite as balanced in outline, and he will be one that takes his time getting where he is going. He is of a very good size. His head is well balanced and his bite is correct. Would prefer a less round eye shape, but they are dark, well placed and his expression does not unduly suffer. Lovely for neck, and his front is soundly made. Leg length suits his shape and he had good feet. Compact in body and fairly close coupled. Topline and underline is correct. Quarters are well turned and his hocks are strong. Couldn't match the winner on the move on the day, and I preferred the winners expression. Will be interesting to see him as an adult. His red and white coat shone with condition and he had an excellent temperament.

3. ASHRONA MR LOVER LOVER

PUPPY DOG.

1. GEOVANIC ROAMIN FOR LOVE. Dark brindle and white. Medium size and developing well. Compact and balanced in outline with ideal balance of leg length and body depth. Masculine in head with good muzzle development. Bite correct. Neck is good for length and is strong and nicely arched. Shoulder assembly is good, and his elbows are directly under his withers. Nice quality bone, strong pasterns and good feet. Very clean over the withers and topline is strong and straight with correct slope to croup. Tailset bang on and tail carried correctly. Rear angie commensurate with the front and he is a tidy mover. Preferred the expression of the previous class winner for BPD.

2. WILLOW SPARKLING BAILEY. Another really tidy pup with a lot to like. Rangier than the winner at present, and doesn’t have his coupling, but he is by no means long bodied. Very good quality head with a lovely expression. Muzzle of correct length and his muzzle is in good balance with his skull. Good for bite and lip placement. He also is very sound in front assembly, and his outline is sharp. Rear end developing well and although he covered the ground fluidly, he lacked the drive of the class winner. Tidy prospect presented in lovely nick.

3. LIMUBOX UP YER KILT.

JUNIOR DOG.

1. NEWLAITHE NORTHERN SOUL AT SONSHOBY. High stationed mahogany brindle of a nice type. Masculine in head with very good quality aspects. Beautiful eye and expression. Nice quality flew and his muzzle has excellent width and depth. Skull not at all overdone and he looks at you dead right. Neck good for length and is correctly arched. His front assembly is sound but I would prefer slightly more layback of shoulder and a bit more chest development. Lovely neat feet. Topline very good and his rear drove him well. He is a tidy mover but I would have preferred a bit more reach. Lovely quality coat in great nick. Overall a good looking sort and he should mature on well.

2. JIMI HENDRIX AT JINNYBRUX. Immediately masculine dog that impressed for strength and soundness. Strong in head without coarseness. Really excellent quality bone. Beautiful feet. Very good lay of shoulder and he is good for upperarm. Well ribbed but a bit long in loin. Topline could use more slope static. Croup and tailset good. Excellent angulation to his quarters. Good hammy thighs and lovely short and strong hocks. He covered the ground with ease and had an excellent temperament. Preferred the body proportion of the winner.

YEARLING DOG

1, DCC and BIS. Ch FARVALLEY MAJOR LUKE AT SUSANCAR. What a boy! Masculinity with elegance, you cannot take your eyes off him. He is a high stationed dog with excellent ring presence. Strongly made all through without a hint of coarseness, for me he was a lovely example of strength and nobility. His head is beautifully balanced. Muzzle has width and depth and is ideal for length. Bite and dentition good. Nose well placed and healthy. He has excellent rise of skull and enough work without wetness. Ears are set correctly and ideal for size. His eye and expression are excellent and he has an air of confidence and arrogance about him. Neck is ideal for length,is beautifully arched and smoothly meets his discernible withers. Topline is flat with a slight slope and his croup and tailset are bang on. His quarters are very well developed with hammy thighs, ideal second thigh length and tidy well boned hocks. He has excellent quality bone to his front and his feet and pasterns are very good. Static he looks a picture, but it is in action that he comes alive. Beautifully accurate on the out and back, and in profile his outline is held impeccably. When asked to freestand in the challenge he had a play and then fell in to the most beautiful freestack that made getting past him that day something of a task. He tests his handlers mettle, but he has the most engaging personality and for me there was nowt to beat him that day. I was delighted to make him BIS.

GRADUATE DOG

1. BOXANIA ROCK AND ROLL STAR FOR DAERVLISH. Very well proportioned dog that held his outline both static and in motion. Lovely for neck, sound in front assembly and he is very well boned. Tidy feet and strong in pastern. His body is compact and strongly made and his topline is excellent, as is his croup and tailset. His quarters are strong and very well made, and this facilitated movement that was among the best of the day. His head is masculine and not overdone. Found him to be a super sound and useful looking dog with an excellent temperament.

2. LORROSA KEEPING IT REAL. Difficult decision between these two. Preferred the head on this one, but he was not as tidy in action as the winner. Overall he too is nicely balanced, with lovely quality bone. He is very nice in head with excellent muzzle development. Correct width of skull. Ears are set well and his eye is correct for shape size and colour. Expression lovely. He has nice length of neck and his front assembly is strongly made all through. Forelegs are beautifully boned. He appeared slightly straight in pastern and I thought his feet could be a bit more knuckled. Excellent in topline and underline with ideal croup and tailset. Hammy quarters with the best of hocks, although I would prefer slightly less length of second thigh. He too has a fantastic temperament and was in excellent fit condition.

3. YGOGARTY SPACE ODDITY.

POST GRADUATE DOG.

1. JEDDHI THROUGH THE FLAME TO BIRLEYVALE. Pleasing dog with a lot to like. He is compact in outline, strong in topline and his front and rear are both very well made. He moves very well and he was absolutely sound. His head has strength to it. Excellent in muzzle, but I would prefer a leaner skull. He was in fine fettle with an excellent temperament.

2. DANLOW MAGIC BULLET. Red and white dog with the sweetest temperament. He is compact and square in shape. His head is well balanced and his bite is correct. Neck of fair length with slight arch, and his shoulder is good. Depth of body good. Would prefer more bone and a slightly straighter topline. Presented in lovely condition.

LIMIT DOG.

1 and RCC. GLENAULD THE CHASE. A Mixed class headed by this masculine red and white that outmoved them all to clinch it. Very nice in head with excellent balance to it. Lovely eye and expression. Ideal for muzzle width and length and his bite was correct. Lovely neck into a well made front assembly. Super quality bone with correct pastern and good feet. Chest has width and depth and is very well filled. Neck transitions nicely to withers and his back is short and strong. Tailset great as is tail carriage. His quarters are well made, but I would like slightly more bend of stifle. Strong hocks and his movement was accurate in all directions. Super temperament and in excellent condition. Well deserving of his class win and RCC.

2 . LIMUBOX SCOTCH GOLD. Immediately masculine in outlook, I thought his conditioning was commendable, for he is solid. Very good for size and his bone and substance is apparent all through. He is strong in head and he has very good expression. His front is very well developed with excellent lay of shoulder and return of upperarm. Strong bone to his forelegs and his pasterns are strong and his feet tidy. Correct in topline with good width through his loin and he is very good in croup and tailset. Quarters well made, but on the day he would insist on moving close behind. Another with excellent temperament and to touch him is to know a lot of hard work!

3 . BOXANIA OVER THE MOON.

OPEN DOG.

1. CH.MACBARRA KICKIN UP A STORM AT GLENAULD JW. Headed a super class. Lovely for overall type and balance. Among the best heads of the day. Excellent balance of muzzle to skull. Flew of excellent quality and his lip placement is perfect. Evident chin and he has upsweep of underjaw without excessive payback. Good bite. His neck is great for length, nicely arched and carries his head proudly in the move. Front assembly is sound, but I would prefer more payback of shoulder and slightly more length of upperarm, that said he was tidy in front moving. Clean over withers and his topline is very good. Bone is strong throughout and his quarters are strong. He was the tidiest mover in the class and he is a showing fool for his handler. Tons to like about him and it is evident to see why he has won what he has. In final 4 for CC.

2. CH. BOXANIA ROMANOFF TO JEDDHI. Another very interesting dog that pushed the first place very hard indeed. He is one of these ones that you kinda need to handle to appreciate, and the takeaway I got from him was that he was dead honest. High stationed with a lovely compactness of form all through. Lovely bone and substance to him and he moved true, but just not as accurately as the winner. Two lovely males and was splitting hairs, the balance fell to the dog with the cleaner movement and for me the better expression.

3. CH. SULEZ STRIKER AT GLENAULD.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH.

1.WINUWUK SEASONS IN THE SUN. 6 months old well grown red and white of quality. Feminine in head with lovely expression. Bite correct and she already has good width and strength to her muzzle. Nice rise of skull. Correct eye placement, and her ears are well set. Neck fair for length and her front is developing nicely. She has nice length of leg and her pasterns and feet are good. Bone is excellent. Her topline is correct and she is nicely coupled. Quarters correctly angled and she moves very well for a baby. Delightful temperament.

2. ASHRONA DOLLY MY LOVE. Another lovely baby with loads to like about her. Nicely balanced all through and she is very tidy in outline. Pretty head with lovely expression. Nice quality bone to suit her size and she is effeminate without losing strength. Moved as a baby should, not much between her and the first, except the first was a bit cleaner behind.

3.GEOVANIC MAKE ME BLUSH.

PUPPY BITCH.

1.LIMUBOX THISTLE DU. Very well grown red and white. Compact in shape and she presents a nice picture both static and in motion. Hear head is nicely balanced. Good bite. Neck good for length and she flows well from neck to tailset. Nicely made in front with very good bone, pasterns and feet. Quarters are well made and she moves cleanly in all directions. Changing coat at present so will be good to see her when she is done with that.

2. LONGSDALE STORMY LOVERS AT GLENAULD. Another nice one with a lot to like. She too is very well grown and she too has quality in head. She is nicely compact in body and she is very well boned. Pasterns and feet very good and she goes very well in front. Excellent temperament and already quite the showgirl, just preferred the croup of the winner. Another that will be good to look at down the line.

3. ASHRONA LOVE IS IN THE AIR AT LATCHKEY.

JUNIOR BITCH.

1. NEWLAITHE BRIDGET JONES WITH TREJU. Balanced and eye-catching, she has a lot of lovely attributes. Very pretty in head with strength enough to be typical. Nicely balanced in muzzle and skull. Eyes good for size and shape and colour, and her ears are set correctly. She is nicely compact in shape and her front assembly is developing well. Good quality bone to suit her size. Excellent in pastern and foot. Her back is short and strong and slopes slightly to meet a very good croup and tailset. Quarters nicely angulated and she moves nicely. A neat and tidy package with an excellent temperament.

2. CASEMATES MINERVA AT THENEMY. Pretty red and white that is also nicely balanced all through. Compact in body, she is sharp in outline and in no way overdone anywhere. Lovely neck into a very good topline. Correct in underline and she is well ribbed. She is nicely angled both ends and her bone suits her size. On the day she was a bit down in pastern and that’s what swung the class for the winner.

3. NORWILBECK BELLCHIME A STAR.

YEARLING BITCH.

1. BOXANIA DONT BLAME ME AT JEDDHI. Nice quality bitch with lovely substance to her. Very good in head with lovely expression. Behind her ears she is clean and tidy and all of a piece. Front assembly sound and her bone, pasterns and feet are all good. She is firm in topline, sound in rib, but id like loin slightly shorter. Croup and tailset good and her quarters have enough angle. Frustrating on the move as she insisted on going close behind. Kept her in final 4 for CC.

2. MEJERIC JUST ONE LOOK. Another nice bitch with a lot to like. Pretty in head and very good in front assembly. Lovely gely quality bone. Slightly down in pastern. Her topline is good, but she is a bit longer cast than the winner. Good in croup and tailset .Lovely in rear, and she moved well. Very good temperament.

GRADUATE BITCH.

1. YETEB LITTLE MISS SPLENDID. Quality youngster with bags of ring presence and style. She is well balanced throughout and has that mix of femininity and substance without coarseness. Her outline is sharp and she is compact in shape. Head very pretty with nice development of muzzle complementing a lean skull. Expression is good. Neck good for length and she is sound in shoulder. Ideal leg length, and she has bone to suit her size. Tidy feet and strong in pastern. Her topline is correct as is her underline. Nicely turned in the rear with good strong hocks. She moves fluidly covering the ground with ease, and she knows her job. Liked her a lot, last 4 for CC.

2. LORROSA MY TYPE ON PAPER. And she is a nice type in person! Super headed bitch. Excellent expression and her muzzle has a lovely finish to it. Neck good, forehand very good. Her topline is firm and her croup and tailset suit. Her quarters have nice development, but she was close behind today. Two nice bitches, and both worth the watching.

3. AIRWAVES OVER NEWLAITHE.

POST GRADUATE BITCH.

1. MARANSEEN SERENDIPITY. Fantastic front on this bitch. Lovely strength of bone. Excellent shoulder wet up and her chest is so well filled. She is good in head with a boxery muzzle a skull to compliment it. Clean in neck and clean through the withers and straight to her tail. Quarters are very well angulated and she is lovely in hock. Could be a smidgeon shorter in loin, but she is far from long cast. Excellent temperament and she moved very well.

2. LOROSSA SENORITA. Substantial bitch that is well made all through. Another very good head from this kennel, she is very similar to her kennel mate in previous class and all the same remarks apply. Very good in front, particularly so in chest.

Her topline is correct, her rear is sound, and she covered the ground well. Excellent temperament and in cracking nick. Preferred the neck length of the class winner, but close up.

3. KEVANOR AFRICAN SUMMER AT SONSHOBY.

LIMIT BITCH.

1 and CC and RBIS. WINUWUK GHOSTLY AFFAIR. Well, she is just one of those proper honest ones that the more you look at the more you like. She is beautifully balanced all through. I wouldn’t say she is a flashy eyecatcher, but hands on she is a lovely balance of strength and femininity and SOUNDNESS. She is clean and tidy in outline, and her proportions throughout are so correct. Excellent quality bone everywhere and she was just right for body. Loved her compactness, and in front she was among the best of the day. Excellent neck that flows seamlessly into beautifully clean withers and an ideal topline finishing in excellent croup and tailset. Her quarters are hammy and strong and perfectly turned with neat strong little hocks. Movement wise she is hard to beat, she is clean coming and going and in profile it’s a lesson in mechanics. Her head is typical and balanced and she looks at you like she is your boss and you ain’t doing your best but she feels like giving you another chance. She is animated in disposition and confident in demeanour, and when she was paired with the BIS winner they both put looked a picture. Loved her, and delighted to have made her up ‘properly’ on the day.

2 and RCC MERRIBOX IN CAHOOTS WITH GLENAULD. Super quality bitch and pushed the winner very hard. She is also as honest as a dull day is long, and she has so much to like. Strongly made throughout she is balanced and typy all through. Excellent in topline, super in front and strong in rear, she is a formidable package. She is feminine in head but retains strength, and the nitpick here was that she is a smidgeon longer in loin than the winner. When called in for RCC she moved a dream and freestood beautifully. She just went up a gear and nicked it from the others.

4. Catalogue error

OPEN BITCH.

Another super class.

1. CH.SUSANCAR CELIA DEAL. Judged her at her very first show as a baby and she was beautiful then and certainly ain’t ugly now. As sharp as paper edge in outline, she cuts such a wonderful figure stacked. Everything is clean and flowing and nothing interrupts your hands going over her. Forehand is excellent. Bone ideal for her size and her feet and pasterns are spot on. Her topline is without fault and her rear matches her front totally. Headwise she is totally feminine in all aspects, but here lay my quandary, and that was that I was left wanting more muzzle. That apart she is something else and I was so pleased to have the opportunity to judge her again at the height of her powers. A super example.

2. CH. SULEZ SMASHDIT. Another belter, and separating these two was a hot thing. Beautiful in head, balanced in body, there is nowt not to like about her. Both very closely matched in action, and looking at them both in profile the decision was made on the winners slightly stronger topline. This was a lovely class and judging it, and these two in particular, was a real privilege.

3. SULEZ TEASER.

VETERAN BITCH.

1 and BVIS. ASHRONSHA WILDEST DREAMS. Lovely class headed by this little dolL. The prettiest of heads on a super sharp outline and even at her age she still has a fabulous shape. Pretty in head and sound on the move, she is a lovely example off enduring type and soundness. Showed out her skin to win a class of delightful oldies. Loved her.

2. GEOVANIC FRONT RUNNER. Another super old lady showing the youngsters how to move. In fine fettle and as sound as a bell, she clearly enjoyed her day out.
