Darlington Dog Show Society Ltd

My thanks to the Darlington committee for allowing me the privilege to judge this show. My thanks also to my ring stewards Linda & Stephen.

Was pleased to see that mouths had improved since I last judged. All had the correct scissor bite and teeth were generally bigger than when I last judged. A bit of turning out of the feet was noted in some exhibits.

Some dogs had to much furnishings on the legs which in my opinion is not require.

1st Fryers Hopecharm November Storm

A 10month old puppy. Excelled in head. Ear and ye placement was spot on. Good mouth with correct bite. Straight front with good depth of brisket. Nice reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Decent depth of rib. Well angulated rear giving plenty of drive. Coat was in good condition. Moved well.

2nd Anthonys Charmedautum Rodeo

Another nice puppy with a good head. Distinct stop. Ear and eye placement was correct as was the mouths dentition. Good reach of neck with nice run in to well laid shoulders. Strong rear end showing good movement when he settled. Just needs to calm down to give of his best.

1st Thomsons Ashgate Falkirk

In profile he is a nicely balanced dog. Good head and mouth. Straight front. Well laid shoulders. Level top line. Strong over the loin. Tail set properly. Moved well but has a tendency to look outwith the ring at a possible distraction?

1st Brittens Bellevue Lucky Devil at Krisma

What a stunning dog. Beautiful shape and balance. Presentation first class and underneath all that was a nicely put together dog. The type of head I expect to see on a westie. Eyes and ears set correctly. Strong mouth with correct dentition. Excellent shoulder placement into deep rib. All round angulation is very good and moved round the ring with ease. Pleased to see him go TG1. (CC & BOB & TG1)

2nd ZHENGCHUN, Mr Y Ch Jun Ch Spring Westies China Chocolate Play with Bis Diva Queen Skyma  

Not the head of winner but still nicely shaped. Mouth had the correct dentition. Straight front. Well laid shoulders into a deep set of ribs. Rear angulation gave plenty of drive to get him round the ring with ease. Good coat texture and well presented. (RCC)

POST GRADUATE BITCH 3 ENTRIES 1 ABSENT

1st Anthonys Charmedautum Willow

 3 year old with a lovely shape and well balanced. Her head was all in proportion and had a mouth with correct dentition. Straight front. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Deep rib and short coupled to rear end which was well angulated. Plenty of drive making it easy to cover the ground. Coat in good condition. 

2nd Fryers Hopecharm Martini

What a lovely puppy this 10 month old young lady is. Excel's in head. Good set of eyes and ears. Distinct stop. Correct scissor bite. Needs to body up little more but what is there is very well put together. Presentation was very good. Moved around the ring with ease. Gave a lot away in maturity to the class winner. (BP)

1st Storeys Nossimp Hope Of A Fine Future   

Quality bitch with a superb head. Good bone structure and pigmentation throughout. Level top line, tail set correctly. Well angulated all round giving plenty of drive when moving. Coat in good condition. Liked her alertness and how she went about her tasks. So pleasing on the eye for shape and balance. Pushed hard for the CC. (RCC)

2nd Thomsons, Hillcloud Echowave By Ashgate JW 

Another nice bitch, good feminine head, nice eye and expression, correct scissor bite,good neck and shoulders, A tad wide in front. Good bone structure throughout, level top line, moved well drive by well muscled rear. Coat in good order.

1st Coopers Bellevue Lucky Love at Brorastar JW ShCEx OSW

 Beautifully presented 2 year old bitch. Excels in head with a distinct stop and correctly set eyes and ears. Correct mouth dentition. Strong neck and well laid shoulders, clean in front, deep rib and short in coupling, drives from the rear, and moved effortlessly. In good coat and excellently presented. (CC)  

2nd Bradburys Fourastay Flower Power

Another quality bitch with good shape when viewed in profile. Also had an excellent head with eyes set correctly properly placed ears. Good neck, front and shoulders. Correct top line which was held on the move. Tail set was spot on. Moved with purpose around the ring. Coat was in good condition but just preferred the presentation of the winner.
