It was lovely to be invited to the first outdoor Ch show of 2026 and to have a good array of 7 group winners to assess and decide this years WELKS BIS and RBIS. All 7 put on a good performance and were in lovely muscular and coat condition for the breeds. My RBIS was the junior male French bulldog who not only was alert and on his toes the whole time but as the breed asks for a clown like quality with his attitude, Ch Olijah Going in Deep. a well proportioned head, moderate wrinkle and lovely ear placement, has good width of muzzle and dark eyes, excellent cobby body with well sprung ribs with correct moderate topline. I liked his bone and substance, well muscled rear angulation which demonstrates his super free flowing movement whilst retaining his profile outline. Still young and im sure more wins will happen for him. Todays BIS winner and to be told after a first for the breed in the Uk to gain this award was the delightful Affenpinscher, Ch Sugarlane Gibbonbac. He oozes confidence along with his typical strutting moderate sound movement gives him that little bit of pizazz that set him away from the rest in this lineup. Under the harsh shaggy coat is a lovely detailed expressive head with a definite stop and domed forehead,a blunt muzzle and nice turn up of chin, dark well set round eyes, correct short neck and a moderate front assembly with lovely straight forlegs and compact feet, he is square in outline and has a firm backline with a well carried tail. He is so sound from all angles moving and was more than happy to award him the top spot.
