Breed: Hound group
HOUND GROUP, Group 1, Irish Wolfhound, TEBBUTT- CH CAREDIG MAFIOSO No stranger to me after seeing this dog throughout the whole of last year in groups. had the pleasure of judging this dog as a puppy where he was BP.He has really matured into a very graceful, masculine dog that for sure commands a 2nd look. Super head, has some strength, his muzzle. lovely dark oval eyes. He has neat ears. He's so clean to go over from his neck, through his shoulders, back and rear Lovely straight fore legs, correct long back, his ribs extend well back, and nice tuck up. Super steady mover with excellent football. He's in rock hard condition. Correct. Harsh coat to him. Real quality dog, full of breed type. And more than happy to award him Group 1 in a strong competition. Group 2, Bloodhound,FARLAP- CH FARLAP KEEPSAKE I really think this dog has an exciting future, a typical head that has length but still narrow with level head planes and correct amount of lip and skin, excellent eyes and supple well folded ears. He is lovely in neck and shoulder,a super strong back with deep chest and ribs extend well back, where the dog comes into his own is on the move, his profile is so good with the high set tail carried well and that elastic gait that defines this breed. I thought he put on a super performance in the big ring and really pushed the IW for the top spot. Group 3, Std Wire Dach, MCCALMONT- COVELLYNS CECIL AT SILVAE A quality dog, still fairly young but everything is in the right place, a houndy conical head with dark almond shaped eyes, has slight arch to his muzzle. Arched strong neck with good bone and a balanced front assembly, nice ground clearance with ample leg to his frame, firm level back and muscled loin, excellent harsh jacket to him, well angled rear, so sound from all angles and lovely breed type. I'm sure we will see this dog in group competition again. Group 4, Rhodesian Ridgeback, BATES- GUNTHWAITES RED HOT ROSE The standard calls for a symmetrical muscular and moderate dog, I felt she covered this very well to go with her sound movement. Flat skull, mod stop and has some strength in foreface, body, ribs and chest are all nice and holds her shape on the move, she is in hard condition and totally deserved her placing in a good group today.
