Judge: Gary Shirt
I was honoured to be invited to judge at this show under unfortunate circumstances. I
hope Mr B. Hindley recovers from his illness soon.
The unsportsmanlike behaviour of one exhibitor towards myself and a world-class
kennel did not spoil the atmosphere around the ring; it only got better once he and his
entourage left.
I would like to applaud the exhibitors who withdrew their dogs, of whom I had previously
awarded.
The standard of dogs on the day was exceptional, making my decisions incredibly hard.
A slight concern is mouths being too undershot and weak pasterns causing splayed
toes in a few dogs.
MPD 3 (1) 1. Bratchie & Baillie’s Optimus Quincy Jones at Skookumbull.
Has many good attributes and is showing great potential for a youngster. Compact and
well off for bone. Good angulation to front and rear, which shows well on the move. Tail
set correct. Stands naturally square with very good tight feet. Correct square skull, nice
dark eyes, ears of correct size and set, very good mouth with good level bite and nice
dark pigmentation. BPD, BPIS
2. Myers’ Optimus Casey Jones.
A very hard decision between these two litter brothers, and both outstanding puppies
with great potential. 1st place on the day looking slightly more settled and stable in the
ring. This boy has a stunning head, maturing nicely, correct ear set and a lovely mouth
and bite. He has a good topline and correct tail set. Nice bone and muscling front and
rear, with good depth of chest developing for his age. Moved well.
YD 3 (2) 1. Huizer’s Dancing With The Wolves Of Black Hunar.
Although spooked by the banner at the back of the ring, this youngster is showing great
potential. He has a very strong square skull with broad underjaw and correct ear set.
Lovely let-down chest with straight, strong front legs and tight feet. He has a very strong
neck leading to a level, solid topline. He has great muscle definition, which was shown
on the move, with good spring of rib and angulation throughout. Correct tail set.
Beautiful brindle colour and coat in excellent condition on the day. One to look out for
in the future.
LD 6 (2) 1. Popp & Myers’ Optimus Jameson Of Penychen JW.
Classic head with square skull, great expression, broad underjaw with correct
dentition. Excellent straight front with lovely depth of chest, strong legs with good feet.
Well-sprung ribs and a level topline. Well-angulated rear quarters, which contributed to
a powerful, well-balanced mover. Lovely bone and substance, and in proportion all
round. Outstanding example of the breed who was in super condition today. RDCC
2. Connaughton, Connaughton, Thomas & Bull’s Reesley Dream Maker With Phoria.
Nice and balanced throughout. Broad, square head with fair wrinkle and correct
proportion of muzzle, and good ear set. Nice depth of chest, strong neck with
substance, stood square with nice feet and strong pasterns. Moved well but less overall
angulation than 1st.
3. Sacrodos Big Boy Brucie.
OD 9 (2) 1. Jones’ CH King The Manor By Sundabish.
What a superb specimen of our breed, and he knew it, showing through his ring
presence. A masculine fawn dog. He has a large, super square skull with broad muzzle,
evenly proportioned with good stop. Ear size good and set correct, with good occiput.
He has good width of lower jaw, nice mouth and good bite. Very strong front with lovely
depth of chest, strong legs and lovely tight feet. He stood square, showing his well-
sprung rib and perfect angulation to front and rear. On the move, he powered with drive
around the ring, where you saw his level back and correct tail set. Definitely a well-
deserved DCC, BIS
2. Popp & Myers’ CH Optimus Thomas Morse of Penychen ShCEx.
Another beautiful and deserved Champion of our breed. Six-year-old clear fawn, and
even though he is approaching veteran, he still holds his own in the highest of
competition. Fantastic connection with his handler. A lovely expression with correct
eye and ear set, good pigment and correct proportions of muzzle to head size. Good,
correct mouth. Nice front with well-let-down chest and good feet. He moved with
power, which showed his very level topline, good balance and nice angulation
throughout.
3. Colliass’ Chalfs Starman At Oldwell.
VB 4 (3) 1. Colliass’ CH Rosco’s Saharhah of Oldwell.
Although seven years old, this nice clear fawn still has a lot to like, especially her
wagging tail, showing me she was happy and enjoying herself. A clear fawn with square
skull, correct muzzle size and pigment, with a gentle expression. Ears set correctly.
Overall, very well balanced, with nice front, straight legs to good feet. When moving,
she showed an excellent topline, spring of rib, good length and tail set correctly, with
nice angulation throughout. BVIS
MPB 1 (0) 1. Myers’ Optimus Bridget Jones.
Still very much a baby but is showing great potential. Nice square head with lovely dark
eyes and correct ear set, with excellent bite and good pigment. Stands square with
lovely straight front and, when moving, shows good muscle tone and angulation
throughout. BPB
PB 2 (1) 1. Latter, Turton’s Maisie De Terras Lustitanas at Stoneglad (Imp PRT).
Very nice puppy, maturing well. Correct square head, good pigment with dark eyes and
well-placed, correct-size ears, showing lovely expression. She has a nice straight front,
standing square and well up on her toes, and moved well, growing equally all round.
JB 3 (1) 1. Huizer’s Multi JCh Dirty Dancing of Black Hunar JWW’26.
Loved this bitch as soon as she entered the ring, so evenly balanced throughout. She is
a beautiful clear fawn with lots of bone and substance, maturing correctly all round.
She has a broad skull, square with good wide-set ears, correct muzzle ratio,
pigmentation and a gentle expression. She has a strong, straight front with well-let-
down chest, straight forelegs and stood well up on her toes. Compact and coupled
throughout, with great muscle and angulation, level topline, correctly set and length of
tail, all shown when she moved round the ring with confidence and drive. Definitely a
youngster to look out for in the future. RBCC, BJIS
2. Connaughton’s Reesley Volcanic Eruption.
Nice young bitch who has a lovely expression with a good width and depth of muzzle,
well-set ears and dark eyes. She has a nice, well-developed front, standing square and
sound. Lots of substance and bone. Maturing well and moves with drive, showing good
topline and correct angulation throughout.
YB 6 (3) 1. Lindley’s Hyerdunscar Hot Gossip With Optimus.
A lovely clear fawn with so many good qualities. Classic, still-maturing head with
correct size muzzle to skull, feminine expression, good pigment and dark eyes. She has
a well-arched neck, good forechest with straight, well-boned forelegs and nice feet. She
has good spring of rib, and angulation is lovely throughout, with a firm topline at all
times. Moved with great purpose and has super ring presence. Excellently shown, and I
will watch her progress in the future.
2. Green & Leys’ XL Bulletproof I Am Titanium from Woodbulls Future (Imp BEL).
A truly very nice red bitch, which, knowing the breeding line, will take time and age to
mature to her full potential. She has a square skull with correct muzzle size to head,
lovely pigmentation, dark eyes and good, large ears which are set correctly. She has a
loyal rapport with her handler. She stood square and very much up on her toes, with
moderate bone and substance throughout. Moved nicely, showing good angulation to
front and rear, with a constant tail wagging. She is in excellent condition with a lovely
coat and was enjoying every minute.
3. Todd & Smith’s X-LARGE Nova From Woodbulls Future into Delharhia (Imp BEL).
OB 8 (3) 1. Latter’s CH Stoneglad She’s All That.
What a super, eye-catching fawn bitch, excellent type. Her head is strong and square
with broad skull and muzzle, lovely expression with well-placed ears and dark eyes. Her
chest is of good depth with strong forelegs, tight feet and strong pasterns. She has a
good, solid neck to well-placed shoulders. She stands square, has an excellent topline,
well-sprung ribs and superb angulation on her well-muscled hindquarters, which shows
as she powered round the ring with drive. Definitely fit for purpose. BCC, RBIS
2. Thomas & Bull’s CH Reesley In It To Win It.
A top-quality, well-balanced fawn bitch. Her head is square with a strong muzzle, lovely
expression with good ear set. Good, strong, wide front with bone and substance, plus
tight feet. Well-sprung ribs with a good, level topline and correct, nice angulation all
round. She moved with purpose around the ring and was handled to perfection.
3. Myers’ CH Optimus Daisonville Hello Again.
