Japanese Shiba Inu

Disappointed to have to judge the breed inside due to inclement weather (very unusual this summer), the joints in the internal solid flooring lead to some “interesting” movement, fortunately I am more than aware of the breeds reluctance to navigate anything that doesn’t look normal to a Shiba and made necessary allowances.

Thank you to every single entry, its very much appreciated.

1ST 1059 - Marilouvale Zak Storm (Miss M L Bryans) smart red puppy at his first outing, I found him to be of great type with a keen expression, well set eyes and ears and a true straight front, looked well in side proportions, balance angulations and a Sycle tale correctly set. Started his gait a little erratically but settled well, in good coat, tidy prospect.

1ST 1050 - Danuja Incipita Vita (Imp Cze) (Mr Ross Bartlett) Red of 2 years, nice typical head shape with well set ears, in profile he shows he is correctly slightly longer in body length than he is in height, his coat is a rich red with good guard hairs, decent side profile and balanced angulations, good tail well set. A little less positive in his rear movement today but his overall good type was enough to win him his class today.

2ND 1077 - Kenleap On Pointe (Miss B & Mr Steve Stafford-Mitchell & Bruton) a slightly bigger exhibit than #1 and maybe lacking his full jacket today, that said he has a similarly good side profile and fore and rear angulations, his tail is well set and he appeared sound enough when gaited.

1ST 1060 - Vormund Mega Man at Brackreef (Miss K & Mrs C & Miss M Capps & Capps & Dunhill-Hall) A fine upstanding Red exhibit that exudes breed type on first inspection, all male without being course, H fronted, super head shape complimented with oblique eye and ears set at the desired incline together creating that cherished Oriental expression, balance in side profile with tail set well, presented in first class condition, he produced a sound typical gait in this class and repeated it easily in the challenge to comfortably gain the DCC, well done.

2ND 1052 - Lin Momoka Go Hi No Arashi at Marilouvale (Miss M L Bryans) Another rich red male of slightly smaller all round proportions than #1, he also possess a beautiful and desirable expression created by his eye shape and set of ears, correct in side profile and good straight in front construction, liked his clear urajiro and coat in general, produced a sound typical gait.

3RD 1049 - Vormund Can't Wait to Be King Claran (Ms K Andrew)

RES 1067 - Vormund Ken Kanekii (Miss M Dunhill-Hall)

VHC 1076 - Musashi Miyamoto Go Shun’you Kensha (Miss C Roskell)

1ST 1073 - Tapena Go Giyu Shin (Mr M A & Mrs S T Law) Fine, upstanding exhibit that is definitely all male, sesame in colour, I’d suggest he’s towards the upper end of the height required, but that said, he is very balanced at the same time, scored with head shape and proportions, oblique eye and well set ears, he is well bodied and presented in the peak of physical condition, correctly angulated fore and aft, with a well set tail, moved out and back well, just preferred the LD’s rear movement in the challenge today but his day wont be far away RCC.

2ND 1062 - Ch/Ir Ch Vormund Be Startin Somethin (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) Rich red in coat with a clear uragiro , typical in appearance with a nice front and side profile, his angulations correlate and his tail is well set, lacking a bit of jacket today and I thought him a little close coming and going, tidy dog he is though.

 3RD 1055 - Marilouvale Eddie Murphy JW (Miss M L Bryans)

453. Japanese Shiba Inu - Puppy Bitch

1ST 1065 - Vormund Ezo No Manaki NAF TAF (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) super smart puppy displaying a grand type when viewed at any angle, the eye shape and ear set are a benchmark , correctly proportioned, H fronted with beautiful feet, a well set tail compliments her side profile, she went about her business with a happy gait, I did consider her for the green cards but thought her just a bit short of maturity , which isn’t a criticism of a puppy at all, certainly one for the future BPIB

2ND 1056 - Marilouvale Had It Coming (Miss M L Bryans) A slightly larger Red exhibit than #1, she also possesses many of the above attributes, unfortunately her jacket wasn’t with her today, these two kennels seem to have the desired Oriental breed type that is cherished , these two are certainly bitches that will stand the breed in great stead in the future in my humble opinion.

 454. Japanese Shiba Inu - Junior Bitch

1ST 1061 - Vormund Million Reasons at Brackreef NAF TAF (Miss K & Mrs C & Miss M Capps & Capps & Dunhill-Hall) A tidy looking Black and Tan exhibit with correct coat markings , H fronted, she also possess a nice enough eye shape and good ears, parting the coat reveals a correctly coloured undercoat , a well set tail and neat feet complete the picture, produced a light, free gait.

 455. Japanese Shiba Inu - Post Graduate Bitch

1ST 1074 - Burwen Bewitched (Mrs M D Packer) Red exhibit of decent all round proportions, side profile is pleasing enough and she carries good breed type, her front profile too is typical, unfortunately a little shy of coat here today , she produced a free flowing , light gait

2ND 1051 - Kaytoni Who's That Girl (Mrs K Brennan) another Red exhibit of a slightly larger stature than #1, decent in profile and has a nice enough expression with well inclined ears, a well set tail and ok proportion wise, she was not as free in gait as the winner and her front not as neat, good coat condition.

 456. Japanese Shiba Inu - Limit Bitch

1ST 1064 - Vormund Crown Royal (Miss M Dunhill-Hall) Rich Red coloured exhibit with a strikingly clear uragiro, once again, a bitch with the required and desired expression, in profile I felt a little more length of leg would balance her better, her tail is sickle and well set and carried, H fronted, at first a little reluctant but moved soundly, this and her overall breed type were enough to secure her place today.

2ND 1054 - Marilouvale Dolly Parton (Miss M L Bryans) Red exhibit slightly lighter in tone than #1maybe due to a slight lack of coat on the day(?), of good type and size, correlated angulations, well set ears and tail, H fronted, a little uneasy in gait though today.

1ST 1053 - Marilouvale Break The Bank (Miss M L Bryans) Now then, This Red Sesame really caught my eye on first inspection and continued to impress me on her table inspection despite giving her handler a typically “shiba” time of things. A beautiful example of this often mis interpreted coat colour, H fronted with tidy feet, she has fabulous eyes, obliquely set , on a well defined head of good skull/muzzle ratio’s, ears too are correctly inclined following the flow of the neck, on side profile I found her leg to body length ratio correct as is her fore and aft angulation, her coat is dense with stand off guard hairs, her gait when she got it together was light and agile, her overall Oriental demeaner made me smile, everything was on her terms, a desired Japanese trait we are taught to understand, CC & BOB saw her later perform beautifully outside in the group to be shortlisted down to the final 7.

2ND 1075 - Ch Afterglow Kiki JW (Miss C Roskell) Beautifully clear red with defined urajiro, a well proportioned bitch with fine front, tidy feet and pleasing typical expression, well set ears in correct incline, nicely proportioned with a well set and carried tail, in super coat condition, sound mover coming and going, RCC

 3RD 1063 - Vormund Camp Crystal Lake (Miss M Dunhill-Hall)
