Richmond Dog Show Society

Many thanks to the exhibitors for the nice entry, and also to the very well-run Richmond Ch show for the kind invitation to judge my breed at their final Championship Show held at the beautiful Loseley Park; before they move next year (2027) to pastures new. I was very pleased with my main winners & it was a very enjoyable morning with you all. A couple I really liked didn't put it all in on the day, which did affect my placings; things may well have been different had they shown and put up a better performance, in some circumstances. 

DCC, BOB and BPIB went to Whitehill’s Amicae Blazing A Trail. The Reserve Dog CC was awarded to Stanbury’s Inixia Glamorous Guy JW. The Bitch CC went to Davidson Poston’s Rom Ch Rom Gr Ch & Club Ch Elena Kolekcja Szuwarka, with the Reserve Bitch CC awarded to Turner’s Feyetas Jellybean. Best Veteran was Davidson Poston’s Rom Ch Spinillons Rebelling.

VD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st) OCKENDEN, Mrs Jean Ringlands Oliver Twist, lovely old chap to start the day. He has a really nice head an expression, with lovely large, well fringed ears; although his dentition has by now seen better days. Very good to go over, well-made in front, good depth to his chest & he has a firm topline. Uses himself very well on the move and is sound and accurate. Still in great coat of the correct texture, even for his age. BVD. 

MPD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) LEE-SLATER, Mrs C Graycaz Need To Know, won here on his shape and outline, lovely correct shape standing, liked his head and eye, and he has lovely big, well-set ears. Very good to go over on the table, and he has plenty of body and substance for his age, whilst still being dainty and not coarse. Has a tendency to lift his front a mite high at the minute, but I think this will settle as he ages; as his front construction is very good. Lots to like and he has bags of promise. 

2nd) WHITEHILL, Mrs M Northlyte Wy It TAF, a real cutie and he has the most gorgeous head and expression, and he is cheeky! Not quite the front or topline of the winner; but he is in great body condition, lovely hindquarters and tail; and presented in a pristine jacket. 

3rd) STANBURY, Mrs S Inixia Graphic Design

PD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) WHITEHILL, Mrs M Amicae Blazing A Trail, this young dog is just what I am looking for when I judge the breed. Beautiful head and eye, lovely large ears with some fringing coming; very well made in front with good shoulders and return of upperarm, plenty of chest for his age, well ribbed back and he has a lovely tail for both set and carriage. He is so well made, that it means he has to use very little effort to move in such a proficient and sound way; and he almost glides over the ground. Presented in a super jacket of the correct texture, I could find nothing to beat him here today in the males, so he won the DCC; and ultimately ended up with BOB and BP, ending the day as PG2 under Patsy Hollings where he gave a very good account of himself in the puppy group. A lovely young dog whose future is hopefully assured. 

2nd) MASON, Miss Kara Finity Re Run The Gauntlet, a really lovely puppy, son of my CC winner the last time I judged the breed; he is a fabulous type with a lovely head and expression, super ears & well made throughout. I made him ever so slightly lower on the leg than the winner & this cost him today, but he is a most promising young man if he comes up on leg. Presented and handled to perfection. 

3rd) LAST, Miss Michaela & LAST, Mrs Shireen Lastayla Mr Crumble

JD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) MORRELL, Mrs S Melangel Unforgettable For Temelora, I liked the balance and movement of this chap which is what won him the class. He is stronger in head than 2nd, whose head I did prefer; although he is not unattractive in head and is very masculine. My preference here was for the accurate movement of the winner. Presented to perfection and in first class order, he should have a very good future. 

2nd) STANBURY, Mrs S Inixia Gorgeous George, very pretty head and expression so typical of his kennel and of his breeding. I liked a lot about him, and he has a lot going for him, I just felt on the day the winner was slightly more accurate up and back. 

3rd) MILROY, Mrs Kat Metamorphic Expedition To Farthinghall

YD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) TURNER, Mrs Susan Feyetas Dance With The Devil, such a dainty young man; beautiful head and expression, lovely ears & muzzle; very good through the neck and shoulder, firm topline and has a very well-set tail, even if he could decide to use it a bit more! Easily the best side mover in this class and presented in a perfect jacket of the correct texture. Thought he was lovely. 

2nd) MILROY, Mrs Kat Metamorphic Expedition To Farthinghall, 4th in JD and he got his act together slightly more in this class to win his place here. He is young yet & has some maturing to do, I liked his body proportions, and he is a very good mover both directions and in profile. Well handled. 

3rd) CARTER, Mr Derek & CARTER, Mrs KARAN Graycaz Making Moonlight Jw

LD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) STANBURY, Mrs S Inixia Glamorous Guy JW, very good shape and outline; super head and expression with lovely ears and some fringing. Very good neck and shoulder, firm topline and neat underline, and he does stand on very good legs and feet. He has a very beautiful silhouette with a super tail, and it is exactly what I am looking for in the breed. Quite a sound and accurate mover both directions; and very pleasing in profile. Perhaps not in his best jacket today; but I felt his other qualities had to be rewarded, as marked by RDCC. 

2nd) MATTHEWS, Mrs Jayne Baillion Be Unique, a touch larger than the winner, but he is in better coat. I liked a lot about him, he too has a lovely head and eye, he is very alert and uses his ears all the time. His shoulders and upperarm are good, but his front feet do turn out just a touch. Firm topline, but I felt his tail was a bit tight. Lots to like about him on the move, and he is very sound and accurate, just a touch less perfect in footfall than the winner. 

3rd) MORRIS, Mrs Ann A & STANBURY, Mrs Susan Inixia Finest Hour

OD (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) MANN, Mrs M & MANN, Mrs C & MORRELL, Mrs S Braunswood Mask Of Zorro By Melangel, won here on his shape and outline, which is quite striking. Lovely head and expression, really super ears & he uses them all the time. Very well made in front, and I liked his legs and feet. Well ribbed back, firm topline and neat underline, good tail carriage and he uses himself well on the move. Presented to perfection, and close up for the CC and ResCC. 

2nd) CARTER, Mr Derek & CARTER, Mrs KARAN Ch Graycaz On A Mission JW, one I have judged before, and he is a very attractive dog for shape and outline. I preferred the more expressive head of the winner, but his ears are well set and used all the time. Enough neck and depth to his chest, well ribbed back and firm in topline; just carries his tail a mite tighter than the winner. Lots to like about him on the move, but he did not have the freedom in front of the winner I felt. A credit to his owners and put down in the most perfect jacket. 

3rd) URQUHART, Mr G Blackpark Bastille

VB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) DAVIDSON POSTON, Mrs J Rom Ch Spinillons Rebelling, very pretty bitch with a mouth full of sparkling teeth which is to be commended at her age. Lovely ears, perhaps a bit low set but they are dripping with immaculate fringing. Well-made in front, and firm in topline, perhaps a little longer in body than ideal. Very sound and free on the move and in remarkable condition for her age; I have seen dogs half her age not in the condition she was in. BVIB and well deserved. 

MPB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) STANBURY, Mrs S Inixia Special Design, lovely bitch with a lot going for her. She has a lovely head and eye and a really super expression. This breeder must have a cookie cutter as they all come out looking the very same! Very well bodied for her age and she doesn’t need to grow on any more, but she didn’t look as though she would. So sound and free and a really exciting prospect. Beautiful tail, just as it should be for her age. BPB. 

2nd) LEE-SLATER, Mrs C Graycaz Minnie Me, gorgeous bitch; so much to like about her and she has so much promise. I thought she would be the winner on first glance as she is finer and daintier than the winner, but she was not overly happy in her surroundings today. She has all of the essentials, just needs a little time and she will no doubt trouble the very best. 

PB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) DAVIDSON POSTON, Mrs J Spinillons Incoming Mayday, I liked this little bitch very much and felt she was the truest mover of these three. Really lovely head and expression and her ears are big enough. She has the scope and outline that I look for in the breed & this was also apparent when she was moving, which is what won her the class. 

2nd) OLOF, Ms D Tarnock Enchanting Eevee, a real doll! Really pretty bitch, just perhaps a little too short in muzzle for ideal. Lovely to go over, perhaps could be a smidgeon longer in back for perfection and it would certainly give her a bit more scope; she uses herself very well on the move and is accurate both directions; picks her front up a little in profile but she may grow out of this as she matures. 

3rd) MARSDEN, Miss Helen Finity True Legacy

JB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) OLOF, Ms D Keomandi's Sweet Dreams Among Tarnock's, loved the head and expression of this bitch, and I thought she was very smart indeed. So much going for her, beautiful front, super body and ribbing, well set and carried tail and she is a really powerful and accurate mover. I considered her further and imagine she could have many good days. 

2nd) CHURCH, Mr & Mrs S & L Invanse Killer Heels, quite a pretty bitch but does not have the eyes or expression of the winner; lovely ears with very good fringing, well made in front but the shape of her feet could be better and she could have a little more spring of rib; she has very good balance and proportions and is quite an accurate mover both directions, even if she does not have the settled, easy profile movement of the winner. 

YB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) BURKE, Miss Libby Jane & BURKE, Mrs Michala Graycaz Looby Loo JW, won this class on her balance and proportions; very good head and eye, lots to like about her through the body & she is well made in front even if she can drop a bit there; well angulated behind; has a very good topline and underline, perhaps needs a little more coat now to finish the picture; but she is a very nice bitch. Very well handled. 

2nd) MATTHEWS, Mrs Jayne & TURNER, Mrs S Feyeta's Witchy Woman, I thought this bitch would be the winner on first glance as she is ultra pretty and in full coat; presented to perfection. Loved her head and eye, super outline and a real glamour girl. I felt she was perhaps a touch lower to the ground than the winner which told against her, but she is a really lovely one. 

3rd) DIPROSE, Mrs Karen Lastayla Perfect Purdy To Lilacrose JW

PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st) OCKENDEN, Mrs Jean Jaynepaps Alula Australis At Nobane, nice bitch for shape and outline; not quite the head I am looking for, and she could be more expressive there. Enough neck and shoulder, firm topline and she has a very well set and carried tail. Has not got a lot of coats and went rather close behind; but quite a good profile mover and was very well handled. 

LB (6 Entries) Abs: 2

1st) TURNER, Mrs Susan Feyetas Jellybean, headed a good class where I really liked the first three. Beautiful head and expression on this bitch who ultimately triumphed, I have judged her before and she has matured beyond measure, well made in front and has depth to her chest, super ribbing and she is very firm in topline, lovely tail for both set and carriage & she is so elegant and dainty. The more I moved them in this class the better she got, never faltering once, and so she ultimately won this class and, in the challenge, continued to impress and ended up with the RBCC. 

2nd) WHITEHILL, Mrs M Northlyte Under Boardwalk, I thought this bitch was really lovely too and close up to the winner, beautiful head and eye, super expression & she is so showy; lovely neck and shoulder, firm topline and she has a lovely tail. Really sound on the move and one no doubt who will continue to go on and do some useful winning. 

3rd) OLOF, Ms D Tarnock Rosaline, not disgraced by being third here, another lovely bitch who I also admired. 

OB (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st) DAVIDSON POSTON, Mrs J Rom Ch Rom Gr Ch & Club Ch Elena Kolekcja Szuwarka, my surprise of the day; a lovely bitch and another from this kennel presented with not a hair out of place; she has a super outline both standing and moving, very pretty with a lovely eye and expression; uses her ears all the time being so alert and attentive; she is well made in front and she stands on good legs and feet; firm in topline and she has a well set tail; very sound and free on the move, even if she could be a tiny bit tidier behind; I felt she was the one in the fullest bloom on the day & looked a picture standing, in the challenge she continued to impress and looked the part, and ultimately won the BCC, her third and crowning CC I understand, congratulations to her owner and breeder.
