Chinese Crested Dog Club

Breed: Breed Club Championship Sow
Chinese Crested Dog Club Championship Show 28/03/2026 I was delighted to be asked to judge this show, and thank the committee for appointing me. I would also like to thank my stewards Bruce Jackson and Seb Thornton, for the smooth running of the ring and helping with the admin. I had and exhibited my 1st Crested in 1980, and although I haven’t shown them since 2005, I will always have a special place in my heart for the breed. When possible I watch them, especially when showing in Europe when all the groups are on the same day. I was pleased to see many of the powder puffs now have the correct veil coat, but in general the breed needs to focus more on fronts, size and bite of the dogs. In some classes exhibits just lost out due to their movement on the day, but could easily change places on another day when they don’t play up for their handlers. I was really pleased with my main winners for type, size and conformation. I was also pleased to read that my veteran winner was placed 3rd Veteran in show later on that day at the UK Toy Dog Champ Show. Baby puppy dog 3/3 1. Caden, Cloonacross Pumpkin. 5 months.
