NORTHERN SALUKI CLUB CH SHOW 19 APRIL 2026.

Many thanks to the Committee for inviting me to judge. I have really nice memories of their friendly shows over the years, and this was no exception with the Committee working very hard to have such a successful, double Championship Show in a really lovely and spacious venue, Alfreton Leisure Centre. Thank you also to the stewards, and to the exhibitors for entering, I don’t think there was a single absentee! Even the dogs that I could see were a bit apprehensive let me go over them. The quality was very high, right through from the puppies and youngsters starting out on their show careers to the lovely quality veterans. This was my twelfth time awarding CCs in Salukis and, although many things have changed in that time, I was pleased to still be able to find the same qualities that I have always looked for. One thing that I have observed before, and noticed again, is that I feel feet are getting smaller, with a tendency towards rounder feet.

MPD (1) 1ST Ayrton’s Allievo Faa Ig Raa ‘I’ Ah 7 months golden cream in lovely condition. Elegant and well balanced head with well set and fringed ears, strong neck, good forehand and feet, deep brisket, moderate hindquarters and moved well.BPD

JD (2) 1ST Sanders Parker’s Heart and Soul Jp Northern Dancer at Classicus (Imp JPN), Classic pale cream of lovely quality, really lovely head and expression, strong neck into very good forehand, nice topline and quarters, not the maturity of his sister,as is often the case with males, but should mature into a beautiful dog.

2nd Bebb’s Aquemenida Montgomery at Shynee cream with a nice expression, nice neckline and fair topline, needs more angulation through the upper arm, pasterns and hocks which affected his movement.

YD (4) 1ST Strong’s Xerxes Omar Ter Dolen (Imp BEL) A very nicely constructed black fringed red, he has a nice head and expression with well set ears, strong neck into a well angulated front, with slight slope to pasterns and good feet, correct slight arch over the loin and a deep brisket, strong, well balanced quarters and moved well. Should have a bright future.

2nd Sanders Parker’s Heart and Soul Jp Northern Dancer at Classicus (Imp Jpn)

This promising cream was a bit apprehensive at first but soon settled, he has a very nice head and expression with well set mobile ears, long neck good overall front and feet, deep brisket and strong moderate hindquarters, can tense himself up a bit standing but when he relaxes has a good topline with slight rise over the loin and moved very well.

2nd Sanders Parker’s Heart and Soul Jp Northern Dancer at Classicus (Imp Jpn)

Lovely silky coat. When called in for the challenge was concentrating and he really commanded the ring with his flowing and lifting profile movement. RCC
