A big thank you to the club for offering me my very first judging appointment and for a lovely, well run show. Well done for ordering good weather too (although a little more breeze would be lovely next time!) The heat definitely impacted on some of the dogs’ movement, as all of the dogs had already been judged shortly before my class.Thank you also to my steward and to all of those who very kindly brought their dogs for me to go over. I feel very lucky to have had such a quality set of dogs, although it did mean that the decisions in Open really were ‘splitting hairs’

1st Seager Mrs E and Mr L. Blamorder Scale Force with Freejack

An all male 5 year old tricolour dog, of lovely coat and colour. Lovely natured, although his exuberance did make it a challenge to go over him. A lot to like about this boy, who was presented in excellent condition. Good front angulation, with good depth of chest, nice rise over the loin, his whole body giving a balanced outline. His head is rather strong, with light ears and he is somewhat flared. He has a nice length of neck, and moves well once settled. 

Class 35 Open Dog or Bitch (5,1)

1st Benton Miss MK, Ch. Blamorder Double or Quits of Oakestelle JW

2 year old blue merle girl with a lovely silvery blue coat with well broken up markings. Head is a lovely wedge on all sides, with parallel planes and well set, almond shaped eyes and well tipped ears, giving a sweet expression, although I would prefer a slightly darker eye. Her neck is of fair length, well handled in turning her round in the line up, as her show side markings are somewhat deceiving, making her neck look shorter than it actually is. Good front angulation, although her upper arm may be a tiny bit short, but she still moves in a balanced manner with good reach and drive. Good turn of stifle, tail just long enough and shown in good condition. 

2nd Seager Mrs E and Mr L., Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack JW

S&W boy, coming up for 4 years old. Another boy who is all male, with an excellent front and great return of upper arm. Masculine head without being too strong, correct wedge and tipped ears. Slight stop, lovely almond shaped eyes correctly positioned. Good length of neck, well muscled throughout with tail just long enough, Well presented, moved well with good reach and drive, 

3rd Wensley Mrs RC and Mr M., Blamorder Starstruck by Versatilis JW Jch Be

18 month old S&W girl. Lovely head, with well placed dark eyes and well tipped ears, giving a sweet expression. Good length of neck, with good angulation all round giving a well balanced appearance. The youngest in the class, she lost out today on maturity. She moved ok, but unfortunately going away, she was a little wide behind today.
