Special Beginners Dog or Bitch

1st – Lovell’s Devonia's Razzo Tascabile – Best Special Beginner

Compact and nicely built bitch, square in outline, with a good level back and strong, slightly arched loin. Not especially enjoying her day, but she moved well with brisk and parallel action.

Veteran Dog or Bitch

1st – Walker’s Stuart Little Prince George's Of The Black Orchid – Best Veteran

Nicely proportioned head, dark eyes with good pigmentation. Good clean front with well-laid shoulders. Lovely coat in good condition and of correct texture. Moved well when cooperating.

Puppy Dog

1st – Whateley & Whateley’s Arkadian Ferrari Vittorio – Best Puppy

Good head with wide and flat skull and correct proportions of skull and muzzle. Dark eyes with good pigmentation. Well-laid shoulders, level topline, a tad too long in loin for balance. Long and flocked coat. Well-set and carried tail.

Junior Dog

1st – Towers’ Enjanicka Toscana Ocio – Reserve Best Dog

Very nicely balanced and typical in outline, square and compact. His coat is lovely, typical, long and flocked. Nicely proportioned head and muzzle with good pigmentation. Well-sprung ribs, level back with a strong and slightly arched loin and high-set tail. A little sluggish on the move in the heat. His balance, squareness and overall breed type won him Reserve Best Dog.

Limit Dog

1st – Mulligan & Mulligan’s Donocielo Mattia

Nicely balanced, square and compact. Liked his well-balanced head and flat skull, dark eye with good pigment. Square in outline, level back, strong and slightly arched loin and high-set tail. Lovely brilliant white, long flocked coat. Moved well when settled.

2nd – Lovell & Thatcher’s Devonia's Anzio

Masculine head, dark eyes with good pigment. Clean, medium-length neck. A little too long in body for balance. High-set tail. Good coat and colour. Moved with confidence and style.

Open Dog

1st – Mulligan & Mulligan’s Ir Ch Donocielo Michelangelo – Best Dog & BOB

A nicely balanced, masculine male, compact and well built. Masculine head with wide, flat skull and correct length of muzzle, dark eyes and good pigmentation. Medium-length, strong neck leading to a compact body, level back with strong, slightly arched loin. Correctly set and carried tail. Coat of correct texture and brilliant white colour. His overall balance, compactness and sound construction gave him Best Dog and, in the final challenge, his combination of breed type, masculinity and overall quality won him Best of Breed.

2nd – Thatcher & Thatcher’s Kobanyai Pelyhes Odin With Devonia (Imp)

Another very attractive and masculine male. Compact and square with a level back, good spring of rib and slight arch over the loin. Correctly set and carried tail. Moved well with brisk and parallel action.

Puppy Bitch

1st – Whateley & Whateley’s Arkadian Laferrari

Small and compact with a typical coat. Head has correct proportions, medium-length neck leading to well-laid shoulders, decent spring of rib and depth of chest. Moved well when settled.

Limit Bitch

1st – Mulligan & Mulligan’s Donocielo Maddalana – Reserve Best Bitch

A very strong-willed madam. Nice head of correct proportions, dark pigment and large, round, dark eyes. Good topline and strong, slightly arched loin, although a tad long for complete balance. When she co-operated she moved very well with brisk and parallel action.

Open Bitch

1st – Thatcher & Thatcher’s Devonia's Florence – Best Bitch

Small and compact, square in outline with a typical coat and in excellent muscular condition. Liked her head, with wide, flat skull, large dark eyes and good pigmentation. Medium-length neck, level back with strong and slightly arched loin. Her compact, square outline and overall balance particularly appealed. Moved with brisk action and was my clear choice for Best Bitch.

2nd – Towers’ Enjanicka Dance Away

Small and feminine bitch. Nice balance of skull and muzzle with dark, expressive eyes. Good level back with slight arch over the loin and high-set tail. Moved well.

Derfel Owen
