Boston Terrier Club

Breed: Boston Terrier

I’d like to thank the committee for putting my name on the ballot. For all the members that voted for me. I always think it’s such a huge honour to judge a club show. I was humbled by my entry with so many quality exhibits to judge; I was truly spoilt for choice. Finally, thank you to Polly and Simon, my stewards, for keeping the ring flowing efficiently.

Minor Puppy Dog (1.1abs)

Puppy Dog (0)

Junior Dog (1) 1st Harris’s Kroni Mr Don Pedjony naf taf, this young male has an attractive head. I liked his large, dark, expressive eyes. He has a moderate neck, a good spring of rib, and a level topline. Straight front and good rear angles. Looks smart on the move.

Yearling Dog (3.1abs) 1st Mair’s Ever Single Verlaine The Poet at Glenauld, this young male is definitely one to get your hands on. He has a masculine head with a good width of muzzle. His eyes are large and dark. His expression is alert and kind. He has a straight front and moderate rear angles. Well muscled, he strides out with confidence and stands naturally square. Handled to perfection. 2nd Rees & Scott’s Cactus Jack at Talkaccatur. A larger male than my class winner, but he is all in proportion. His head is square with dark, round eyes. He moved out well, but he’s not as finished or together as one. Needs more time.

Novice Dog (0)

Post Graduate Dog (4.0) 1st Rees & Scott’s Talkaccatur Crazy Horse, I really like this young dog and he’s well named!! So squarely made for me, he oozes breed type. I loved his head and expression; he has just enough width of muzzle to present squareness. His arched neck flows nicely into his well-laid shoulders, level top-line, with a slight curve to his rump. Well set tail. He’s presented in hard condition. His movement is free and easy. Today he was more interested in what everyone else was doing. Very inquisitive! 2nd Harrison & Stoner’s Vickvally The Big Dill at Honeydukes, lots to like about this smaller type male. He’s perfectly balanced and is very square in outline. His head is square. His ears are well placed and neat, which he uses to advantage on the move. His body is well covered with a good spring of rib. He stands presenting a lovely outline. Moved well. Just preferred the movement of my winner today.

Limit Dog (6.1abs) 1st Mair’s Glenauld Texas Tom, I really liked this young male. He still has plenty of maturing to do, but he has such breed type. His head is masculine without coarseness. His expression is kind and intelligent. A square head with a good width of muzzle. Correct ear set, large dark round eyes. He has a good reach of neck, well-laid shoulders, level top-line. I loved his outline stood and on the move. Presented and show in top condition. Unlucky to meet my open winner today who was on top form. Looking forward to watching his journey RBD

2nd Rostron-Parker’s Rosparquier’s Late Edition, a taller, more elegant dog. He too has a masculine head but not overdone in any way. A moderate neck which flows into a level top-line. His front legs are straight and he has good rear angulation. He moves out with ease, well presented, and handled. Today I just preferred the overall outline of my winner. 3rd Jackson’s Tigrato Maker’s Mark.

Open Dog (4.1abs) A really tough class, three lovely males that are so different in type. 1st Quick’s MCH MBISS Primo Cavaliere Goffredo Naf Taf This boy was on top form today; he has such ring presence and showmanship. He has matured nicely. His head is all male, the darkest of large round eyes, good width of muzzle, well-set ears. He has good bone, well-sprung ribs, is short-coupled, and has a level top-line; he can sometimes stand a little over-stretched, but I think a lot of that comes down to his excitement to show. I loved his movement; in fact, the more he moves, the better he gets. It’s effortless. Handled to perfection, these two make a fantastic team. BD & BIS 2nd Sambrook’s Esangee Your My Star, I have always loved this dog ringside, and getting the chance to lay my hands on him, he didn’t disappoint. He is so honest and sound. His masculine head is square and not overdone. His large dark eyes give him a kind but intelligent expression. Neat, well-set ears that he uses. His neck is moderate into well-laid shoulders, a level topline, and a slight curve to his rump. He stands on straight legs and small, round, compact feet, the best of the day. He moves out true coming and going. Definitely not one to be overlooked!! 3rd Bennett’s Ch Wildax Liverpool Lad at Boxbos.

Veteran Dog/Bitch (9.3abs) 1st Mason’s Ch Aprika California Dreamin JW, this veteran just doesn’t believe her age. She really made her handler work for this class. She defies you not to look at her. She has the most beautiful classic head. I would prefer her to move a little less enthusiastically, but I guess her head-strong attitude is also part of her appeal. She has a well-arched neck, level topline, well-made front and rear. Moved out well with determination. BV & RBB 2nd Glynn’s Marran’s Simply Simplicity at Coppergold, another worthy bitch. Her head is clean and square. Her eyes are dark and full of expression. Her neck is well arched into a level topline. She is a touch longer in loin than my winner, but she excels in movement, striding out and covering the ground with ease. 3rd Schfaild’s Vickvally Wonders of Love

Minor puppy bitch (7.2abs) 1st Sambrook’s Lorddonens Shining Star, just loved this baby, still very raw and not the most confident, but I couldn’t deny her this class, the prettiest of heads, large dark round eyes with a good width of muzzle. Square from all angles. Her body is quite mature for her age. Moderate neck, level topline. Straight front and moderately angled rear. Once she got going, her movement was sound and true. Hoping for a bright future for her and her owner. BPB & BPIS 2nd James’s Aprika Hollywood Dream TAF, this youngster has it all going on. Full of sass and attitude, her body is so square and compact, she has an excellent spring of rib already. She moved out with attitude. Just preferred the head of my winner today but looking forward to watching her journey. 3rd Gallagher’s Vickvally Ruby Aura.

Puppy Bitch (1.1abs)

Junior Bitch (2) 1st Wildman & Davis Ch Wildax Rowendale Krispy Kreme, this young lady really gave her handler a tough time today. She has so much breed type, she’s short and square, she has a square head, large dark eyes, a fantastic spring of rib. Level top-line, in profile for me she’s hard to fault but today just didn’t move so well in front. Frustrating!! 2nd Kings Kingsline Nell Gwyn. Another quality bitch who is smaller in type than my winner but equally balanced. Her head for me is ultra feminine but so balanced. She has well set, neat ears, large round dark expressive eyes. Her body is a touch longer in loin than my winner, she stands on good feet with straight front. She’s showy and confident on the move. Just preferred the overall maturity of my winner. In my opinion she just needs a bit more time.

Yearling Bitch (1.1abs)

Novice Bitch (1) 1st Rees & Scotts Talkaccatur Minniehaha. A quality girl who gets overlooked but has some lovely qualities. Her head is square and feminine. Darkest of eyes with a lively expression. Her ears are well set. A good length of neck and a level top-line. Sometimes she can stand a bit hunched but soon corrects herself. Moves out well coming and going.

Post Graduate Bitch (5.1abs) 1st Jacksons Tigray Black Eagle. This brindle girl has a lot of quality; she has taken her time to mature but is coming together nicely. She has a sweet expression, staring at me with large, dark eyes; her ears are neat and well set. Her head is square and free from wrinkles. She has just enough neck, a level top-line, and small, compact feet. Her front is straight, and she has moderate angulation. Her movement is sound. Moving freely on a loose lead. 2nd Svitanova’s Valbrowns Fatgirl Slim Rin-Tin-Tonya (Imp.Hun) RL4ex. This girl is ultra short in body. She has a well-developed feminine square head. Large round eyes that for me could be a touch darker. A moderate length of neck. Well-sprung ribs. A level topline. Straight front. Good rear. Moves out well with her handler, never putting a foot wrong. 3rd Gajda’s Lorddonens Everybody Loves Pudding.

Limit Bitch (6.1abs) a quality class of very nice bitches. 1st Gunther’s Marran’s Indiana at Chrissiguns JW. A very close decision between one and two today. Both beautiful bitches who still have time on their side, I’ve seen this bitch many times ringside and I think today is the best she has looked. Obviously a slow maturer and has taken her time to come into her own. Her head is feminine and square. She has excellent padding and good fill under the eyes. Large dark round eyes and good well set, neat ears. Her front is straight and her top-line is level. She moved with a good length of stride covering the ground with ease, winning her the class. 2nd Jacksons Tigrato Wilderness Glen, the litter sister to my previous class winner. For me, I think she is slightly more finished than her sister. Her head has such breed type. Square. Her eyes are large and round, dark and expressive. She has good fill under the eyes with nice padding on her muzzle. She has a beautiful neck into well laid shoulders. A perfectly level top-line. Straight front, nicely angled rear. Small compact neat feet. Today she was a little distracted on the move with a tendency to move away from her handler. 3rd McIntosh’s Florence Summer Fizz. Another bitch for me that has been overlooked. I love her head and construction but an incident before she entered the ring unnerved her and she just wasn’t herself. Disappointing for me.

Open Bitch (8.3abs) 1st Schfailds Ch Vickvallys Miss Chicago Soul, this young lady really bought her A game today. Such a feminine bitch. Her head is square, eyes round and dark she has neat well set ears, good width of muzzle. Her neck flowed onto her well laid shoulders. Her fore-chest is well developed, her top-line is level. She has well sprung ribs. She has a nice straight front and adequately angled rear. Moving out she is elegant and confident, with a good stride. Making a perfect picture, not putting a foot wrong. Think she could have moved all day. A worthy champion. BB & RBIS 2nd Glynn’s Jangar Born to Be A Star for Coppergold, another quality bitch who I’ve always admired. She has a square and feminine head. Her eyes are round and dark with a lively expression. She has a clean neck, a level top-line, a good depth of chest, with a nice tuck up. She stands on good straight legs. Stood, her outline just flowed. Her movement was sound and true, a real show girl. 3rd Schfailds Ch Vickvally Love and Desire.

Brace (1) 1st Rees & Scott. These two won this class with ease!! Both standing and moving in synchronicity. Congratulations to their busy handler today.
